  1. everyone is diff but gym at least 4x a week for 45 minutes. mixture of cardio and weights!! this is how i lost 55 pounds on my own. had a baby and it falls off just MUCH slower!!!
  2. i am still pre op but i have received my diet paperwork before surgery and my NUT specifically says protein is a must!! are you getting protein from oatmeal>??? i highly doubt as much as you would an egg or a piece of low fat cheese or even a greek low fat yogurt. i would try to revisit with your NUT to steer you back in the right direction. your diet just seems to lack protein and frozen meals the sodium in those can be really bad for you. when you get a 1/4 of what everyone else is happening. ask yourself if your eating protein, veggies then starches and carbs last IF there is any room left. hey congrats on the weight loss so far!! i would LOVE to be 30 pounds down from where i am right now!! good luck to youuuu
  3. congrats and im glad to see and hear you are doing well!!!!!!! so happy for you. im still waiting on my surgery date. but feeling hopeful! how much are you down? do you feel like it was worth it all?!?!
  4. Does your surgeons office require weight loss? I too have ConnrcticuT Medicaid. I gained 7 pounds and was able to take it off. I think u will be OK because of your bmi and that u have other complications. Just stay positive and hope for the best. I'm still waiting for my Approval its only been one day but soon anxious. Good luck to u! My insurance and surgeon do not require weight loss they just want u to maintain, stay consistent, bring food journals and show that u are really trying
  5. Hi sanaah so proud of you!!!! I don't have a relationship with my in laws only a few family members know. All co workers and my neighbors very supportive though!!!! I'm excited for our journey to begin!!!! Well it kinda already has!!! Just waiting for that phone call of approval
  6. Also if u get grant money I would try to save some of your disbursements each semester that might help
  7. I'm sorry that you feel this way and please stay positive because things get better. If your job doesn't offer insurance I'm pretty sure you will meet the guidelines for state insurance. Its a pain dealing with the State but in the end soooooo worth it. Google DSS office for your state and it will bring up the closest locations. All they need are 2 or 4 pay stubs. Not sure how much u make but I JUST made under the income limit ( I also have a 2 year old) but please try. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Keep your head up. I would also look into your local hospitals and attend a WLS support/information meeting. They are free and usually once a month. Someone will help you or steer you in the right direction to achieve your goals!
  8. I have HuskyA through CT!! I'm going through Hartford hospital surgical weight loss center. Their amazing and said they would fight for me if I ever got denied!! So amped!! Good luck to you"!! I had a lady bug fall on my lap last night lol
  9. omg i did too! we are on the same time frame! i hope it happens in hmmm 5 days!
  10. this sounds scary. is this something you do after you are fully healed? was it approved by your surgeon? id be so scared to stretch or rip somethin lol
  11. My surgeon doesn't require weight loss. My insurance makes u do the 6 months nut visits to make sure u can at least lose or maintain the weight
  12. Hey!! Good luck in your journey! ! Our pre op requirements are almost the same. Mine were 6 nut appt, info meeting,2 support group meetings, bloodwork, pulmonary, cardiac and psych clearance!! Just had my last dietitian appt today and paper work was submitted. Once insurance approves I get my surgery date!!! So excited. It will go by soooooo fast for you.
  13. wow!!!! that is insane that they didnt reach out to you. guess what i follow your same motto! CALL CALL CALL! i now know all the nurses by first name and i apologized to them for 'stalking' but i told them ive been working way 2 hard for 6 months just to let anything slip by! also for work purposes im ready to submit my FMLA info so yes. i agree call call call! thats why they are there!! good luck to you in your journey! they just submitted my papers today so HOPEFULLy we get approved at the same time!!!
  14. i couldnt be more ecstatic. well im sure i could but i just had my LAST dietitian appointment. she cleared me for surgery and said im definatly ready!!! they faxed over my info to the surgeons office before i left! so that means the surgery coordinator will be submitting my paperwork today or tomorrow!! HUSKY A Connecticut. I'll let you guys know how fast I get approved!! i have my last followup with my Surgeon on the 17th and then he will give me my surgery date! i almost cried leaving her office and i said "ive been waiting 5 months for this day". and down another 3 pounds from 2 weeks ago!!!! thanks for this site. being so supportive and a perfect outlet!!!

ive read on here numerous times (and you tube videos) that the dreaded stall always starts around the 3rd-4th week keep your head up!
  18. hey thanks so much for that post! it was so nice and comforting!!!! ive debated lap band and bypass. after seeing the lack of weight loss my friend had with the band, reading about all its complications and insight from my surgeon i didnt decide to go with the sleeve until my 5th month. sept 5th is my last nut appointment and i cant wait!! im ready for the lifestyle change, for me my daughter. to be healthy and happy and live long and have energy for her! i dont want to be miserable and not feel like myself. im terrified and i make sure i read up on all the complications. i know everyones body and situation is different, i just hope for the best and that i recover well. ive had a c section (although i have a low tolerance for pain) i think i will be ok. my job is amazing and we have paid short term disability i cant wait!!! thanks for such wonderful tips <3!!!
  19. wow mine is sept 5th and i cant wait. your bmi isnt half as bad as mine so you cant look at that bad. mine is 50! im so excited for us!!!
  20. congratulations to all of you/!!! i share your joy just reading your posts! i still have my last dietician appt on sept 5th then we will submit to the insurance that day!! good luck and hope you all have an amazing recovery/!
  21. seriously? day 5 i felt nothing. i was still smoking the only difference was my morning cig. im gonna start it again. they taste the same
  22. i too can relate my grandma only grandparent left just hard a heart attack and they dont know if she is strong enough to go through surgery to help her get better. my 2 year old is driving me nuts! temporary separation from my husband. just started 2 online classes. work full time and financial issues are always a burden. BUT we have the surgery to look forward to. we dont want to sabotage this amazing gift that weve all been working soo hard for!! i got chantix a week ago and stopped taking it. i want to start again tomorrow because all in all smoking is so bad. i can barely walk up the stairs without being out of breath (and i work out 4 times a week). its ok if you slip up its very hard to quit. almost depressing. but i have faith in you! and reading your post gives me more determination to not buy a pack on the way to work in the morning!!!!!!
  23. i feel your pain. i havent even gotten a surgery date yet but you have to be CIG FREE for at least 3 days for that test to go SOMEWHAT right. my surgeon refuses to operate unless i am cig free a month before surgery. which i will be. they say it takes 3 days for the nictone to leave your system. after that i GUESS its physical but i dont believe that physical crap. its mental. you have to want to stop!! please please stop now. you are cutting it very close and we wouldnt want anything to happen to you!!!!! good luck i know its hard. im struggling myself but chantix does help fight the cravings.
