  1. I don't know how to change my profile!!! I had the sleeve!
  2. I am 8 mths post op and and am in a depressed state. I have zero energy. All I want to do is sleep. I stopped taking vitamins along time ago so I don't know if that's part of it or not. Really feel like I'm screwing up.
  3. I've never experienced slimming and I'm not sure what it is. I had a rough three months pot op but it eventually came together. It will for you too.
  4. IMO opinion that stuff is highway robbery and nasty. My sympathies.
  5. My protein shakes I think, are relatively new. Rockin Refuel by Shamrock Farms. They are refrigerated because they are dairy. Sugar free, 30 grams protein. I pay $1.99 each. Ask your grocer to carry some to try. They aren't thick like others I've tried. They taste just like chocolate milk. Lactose free.
  6. And it wasn't like I was taking time to enjoy the food...I called it mindless eating. Now I enjoy food. I had homemade popcorn tonight and it tasted great.
  7. I read a package of 72% dark chocolate. For one piece it had very little sugar which I don't eat. I decided it would end up being a dangerous slider food I couldn't stop myself at just one piece. So I'll stick with dark chocolate sf pudding. I WISH they made sf eggnog!!!
  8. Isn't that what they make hummus from, chickpeas? Kill me now. Gross lol.
  9. My entire second month I spent nauseous! I swear the day I got my anti n meds it stopped.
  10. I'm 8 months post and low carb and don't count calories or log.
  11. I'm sure we had a similar experience preparing our cupboards, fridges and freezers for post-op, right? Then that moment of panic realizing "how will I ever eat all that?" I used to buy a big bunch of bananas, eat a couple at a time. Now I buy one banana and it takes me three try's to eat IT.
  12. I don't win often but I think I get the prize of who could eat the most! I'm laughing at the "I ate a whole pint of ice cream." I can't believe I wasn't twice the size, I could eat sheer massive amounts of food. I ate almost 24 hours a day even in my sleep. I woke up once to my hand in the bag of trail mix and chocolate melted on my hand. Pathetic.
  13. My surgeon said 4 months to properly healed.
  14. I think everyone's reaction is the same when you awake in recovery. "It's over???"
  15. They put the tube down and a charge catheter in while I was out. I remember the mask and counting maybe 4-5 numbers than out. Woke up groggy in recovery. Try not to stress they know what they're doing.
  16. I could put away a half gallon of ice cream at one sitting. A large pizza. Dozens of large homemade cookies. Huge bags of Halloween candy I'd eat during the night. I'd wake up with chewed candy in my mouth. Such an ugly time.
  17. Tomorrow will be 8 mths post op and I'm down 95 lbs. it hasn't been easy but it's been worth it. I have so many smaller clothes that were given to me. It's like going shopping in my own house! I have a pile of not quite yet, a couple of my biggest pants I'm keeping so I can look BACK on where I've come from. I also have a bag of clothes to take to a resale shop. It's fun! I love not having to look for clothes in the plus size section but on regular racks in xl. You'll be fine! Have you had surgery? When and how are you doing?
  18. I may have one or 2 diet pops a month. I'll usually get a diet coke at McD's and let the ice melt so it goes flat. Diet Vernor's (it's a Michigan treasure) and diet A&W won't lose carbonation. I swish them around so I flatten it before swallowing.
  19. I went there after 2 different hospitals and surgeons left me feeling hopeless. Has anyone else went to the BC and what was your experience? I went to the one in Ypsalanti Michigan, about 2 hours away. Loved it.
  20. Is there a Barix clinic somewhere where you live? That is all they do. Center of excellence as was the surgeon. Mine was 2 hours away but I'd go there again for sure. Great, quick experience. Very supportive as that's what. They do, bariatrics. Best of luck!!!
  21. I had no care. Didn't need it really. I just rested and tried to get down what I could.
  22. Yep. I gained 9 lbs in 24 hours after surgery. So much fluid, it's completely normal.
  23. Oh honey, I "thought" I was so well prepared for post op...I was a moron. It took me three MONTHS to get it together, lol. It fell into place eventually. I've had a loss I'm happy with at almost 8 mths. Hang in there.
