Hi! My surgery is tomorrow and I'm a bundle of nerves today. I'm worried about being put under. Can anyone help me with that? Just let me know how it goes, the process and such? Thanks

Yay! Well as far as my case they wheeled me in the OR said Hi, then bam out! No warning no nothing just out and Back awake...simple as that. Odd kinda!

Yeah, they just wheeled me into the operating room and told me to put my ars in a certain spot and don't even remember putting my head down. When I woke up, it was over... piece of cake.

Did they tell u what drugs they were using?? Any of that? Did u get to see your cut stomach? Could a friend or relative video tape from the opposite side???

Doubt if they would allow videos for legal reasons, I imagine.

So you didn't feel the tube being put in your throat?

And they won't allow pictures of any kind. My hubby got in trouble for taking pics of my csections lol.

Was you husband(or whoever) allowed with you up until they wheeled you back? And did they give you anything before being sent back?

My husband was with me until they took me away for surgery. The IVs with the pain meds were in.

And do they put the tube in after you get into the OR? Sorry for so many questions. I'm already an over analyzer, have anxiety and now I'm just scared lol!

The last thing I remember before going out was the anesthesiologist. He said he was going to use the same medicine that Michael Jackson died of to put me out. Then I woke up in a state of confusion. I pulled the oxygen tubes from my nose and was trying to yank my IV out. It took me a minute to remember where I was and why.

I've not had my WLS yet, but I have had more than my share of surgeries, and you are not awake when they insert the tube down your throat. That would be aweful! Just relax, and enjoy the nap.

That was mine. All I remember was someone saying okay let's go. And then I saw my mom and son come into room and it was over.

Ok when you go in the OR you will have probably already been given a little versed. It helps you relax. You will move onto the OR table and they will put monitors on you. They will give you oxygen through a mask. Then they will put propofol into your iv you will be sleep in a matter of seconds. After you are sleep they will put an ET tube into your throat. You will barely remember going in the room. Thats the way the meds work. Good luck
