Looking around and realizing I'm not the biggest woman in the room.

    Telling girls and friends

I found it hard. But when I did tell people were supportive. My bf and I started dating a few months after my band in 2012. I didn't want to tell him but obviously I had too. He was relieved. He said he was starting to think I had an waring disorder because I'd hardly eat anything and was always getting up and running to the restroom half way through meal (I was always throwing up with band). He was so supportive of my conversion to sleeve. Still only a few people know. I agree about dates not being over dinner. You'll find woman will like more active dates rather than over food.
  4. I'm still sitting at 175-4.8. I know it will pass. I know I need to exercise and know that this put me just 15lbs away from my high school weight. (FYI lapband in 2012, sleeved 11/24). Down 77lbs from 11/12/2012, 27 from sleeved date. But if I could drop 25 more. Hit 100down! I'd be so thrilled. Anyway not what I wanted to post about. Actually had an awful scare this week (men beware. Gonna talk nipples). This Last week noticed discoloration is both my nipples, and it didn't wash off! Made mistake of googling it. Panicked. Called dr who seemed to panic too. Saw her next morning. that was Wednesday. She got me in to radiology yesterday. (More panic. You only get in that fast if you are dying). Had mammo and it was perfectly clear. Thank God. I was writing my will. Now I'm referred to dermatology and Brest Clinic. But no panic. I look like I have a misshapen freckle on the center of each nipple? I've gone from a full C cup to an empty A cup with the weight loss. I nursed two big babies till they could wAlk. Plus take thyroid meds. Im 46. I'm now thinking the combo of all that has caused this. Idk. But now I'm guessing it's topical. Probably hormonal. I just hate waiting and wondering. I kept thinking this week how I'm finally a size I kinda like and now I have cancer. Damn irony. I almost didn't believe them when they said my mammo looked perfect. Has anyone else been through this

    Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve

I told very few people for the same reasons. But when I finally did tell my family they were so supportive Worried but supportive. You may be surprised at people's reactions. I'm 46 and had a lapband in 2012. And on 11/24 transitioned to a sleeve at 199 lbs. but that was up from 172 with my band after having problem. My point being. Your loved ones will support u
  6. thanks fir sharing! Really interested in those stats!
  7. Was more active this weekend. Tuesday I'll go to a Zumba class after work. I hate Zumba but it's free! Going to aim for 3 hours of exercise this week. However I get there I get there.

    Aspirational shopping

I have the same problem. Unfortunately the women in my family are plagued with bigger bellies then butts. No matter their size. My tiny mom suggested men's jeans. Works for her but no way I was gonna do that. Well for Christmas she bought a pair of 32 x 30 for my very skinny tall 16 year old son. Way to big and way to short for him. I said wth and slipped them on and guess what? My mother wAs right about the butt fit for us! And they don't slide off. They are just plain jeans but fit!!
  9. What kind of exercise are you all doing. I say everyday that it's the day I'm gonna exercise...and then I don't...need some motivation and ideas. I am suppose to do a pack test to qualify as a wildland firefighter in March. But I'm worried It more than I can handle at this point. I have to walk 3 miles in 45 minutes wearing a 45lbs pack and wildland gear. Some of the firefighters were talking about starting training this Saturday with a 3 mile hike. I don't know if I'll be able to handle it yet. Especially cause it will be like 20 degrees out. Could you do it at this point? Am I just being a chicken.
  10. Monday makes 6 weeks. While I wish I could say i have lost a ton of lbs so far but only 24. Which is fine. I know things will keep moving along as long as I do my part. The great news is if was able to resume my position in my volunteer fire department. Meaning my dr completely cleared me. I've been back to my regular job for a while. But I am a licensed emt for my local fire department. And it's very physical work. I started back on 1/1 and have been on a few calls. My strength is some what low but I feel much more nimble in my ambulance. I am so glad to be back out there. And feels good having more breathing room in my uniform. Love to hear how others are feeling
  11. oh no that's horrible. I ended up taking 3 weeks off. I got an infection at my incision site that they removed my band and stomach. I needed every minute of that 3 weeks. Take as much time as you need. Rushing just delays healing.
  12. Oh yea for the first time since surgery, someone at worked said I look like I'm losing weight again.

@@Lovelycurves Can't wait to be you!
  14. I'm eating around 800-1000 a day. It seems like if I eat less than that for a few days I stall.
  15. I saw my dr today and he told me that my 25 pound loss in 6 weeks is perfect. I had a Lapband before and he said that x-lapbander tend to loose a little slower but that's okay. I'm 2 pounds away from my lowest on the band. Woo hoo. He also reminded me that 25 in 6 weeks is significant and keep doing what I'm doing. Protein and water are the key he said. We also talked about alcohol. He said anything carbonated is out. A little wine is fine but to never drive even if I have one because absorption is so much quicker and higher that I may feel sober but would blow way over the limit and would probably be more impaired then I realized. And it's empty extra calories. As far as vitamins. Chewables or gummies. I have Chewables at work in case I forget my gummies in the mornings. I feel like they've really helped with feeling tired. I had some overcooked chicken nye and ended up vomiting it all plus up. It was hard to eat anything the next 2 days. Dr said when that happens revert to softer foods for a day or too. Baby my tummy basically. I feel like sometimes on forcing myself to eat. Need to stop that. Other than that all is well.

    Shoulder pain relief?

it's gas still lingering in your body. Walk it off. Sleep sitting up. I had some (like 1/4 cup) of flat gingerale and it really helped when I went through the shoulder pain. Just make sure it's flat
  17. @@sarina55 I'm going back to the gym this week as well. Although I'm starting to think I have a cold and that's what's bugging my belly. I'm looking forward to live being normal again now that holidays past. Need routine!
  18. I do think I've been a little to free with my food choices. What I've learned is spicy food makes me vomit. Chicken that is over cooked makes me puke. Eating the least bit too fast makes me hurl. And today I ate a pear. Just bit in to it kinda eat. Yea bad idea. I think too big of bites. Made me up chuck. The few times I have lost my stuff I've been so exhausted afterward it seems I'm just done for the day. Anyone else like that
