  1. I had very little pain. I didn't have a drain though. I agree about the ride (2 hrs) home! What pain I didn't have in the hospital, about did me in on the ride home. I kept bloating and bloating. Had to stop because I thought I was going to heave. Nausea was the worst part about the surgery.
  2. The first one was right before surgery (VSG) in April. Next is a day ago. 110 lbs, 9 mths.
  3. McCormicks makes banana extract.
  4. I've lost 13 lbs in the last month (month 9 VSG). I've noticed I've gotten up during the night and I am extremely dizzy, sick to my stomach and sweating. I have to find somewhere to sit quickly or I'll be on the floor. I remembered the last time I got refills the Dr told me Seroquel can drop your bp. So I asked my mom as she deals with low bp. She said that's exactly how it makes her feel. She has a bp cuff and can check. My bp has always been under the norm. It went up a little 110 lbs ago but not enough to warrant concern. I cut the seroquel in half last night. Much better! I just took the other half because I want to sleep. Has your meds had to be adjusted (depression meds specifically) to your ever changing weightloss?
  5. I'm pretty much abnormal by genetics gone haywire. For example, if I can't fall asleep at night I have a mega strong cup of coffee and fall asleep. So I was losing inches. But the inches aren't really coming off at all! My waist has been the same for months!!! T I'm losing though, 13 lbs in the last month (9 mths post op). My ankles have never gotten any smaller at all, they are 9 inches around. I don't understand. Am I one bassacward people???
  6. I got my stats on my fitbit for last week. I walked/hiked 36.94 miles. All due to searching for a missing person. I've lost 6 lbs in the last week. Had to eat carbs for energy and to keep hypothermia at bay. One day it was -18 with horrid winds. Not only did I hike, I did so with about a 10lb backpack. SO grateful I had the VSG! Wow, I could barely walk 2 blocks a year ago. Incredible the life changes.
  7. I'm sure you know who I'm talking about...
  8. I would never be a summer hiker, I like the winter...and I HATE the winter. But I like snakes and poison ivy less, lol.
  9. Learning I love to hike in winter. Still searching for missing person. I've logged 36 miles plus in less than a week! I've gained 3 lbs but whatever. I'm hiking some stiff terrain and my clothing and hiking wear is adding all of 10 lbs.
  10. Butt in the front? Lol. Probably a tummy tuck!
  11. It was -15 today. Isn't it logical I need carbs for energy? I'm constantly sipping something but that something is HOT coffee!
  12. Awesome advice!!! Love it and I plan on continuing hiking. 36 miles in 5 days. No news.
  13. I'm still hiking for the search and rescue party. I've walked (hiked) at least 30 miles since Wednesday. I've gained 4 lbs!!! I'm eating food with carbs in it but goodness, shouldn't it burn off with all of the hiking? Really frustrated, sore and tired. The feels like temp is -10. Please pray we find our person. It's been 8 days
  14. Blerdgirl what does NSV stand for? Thanks for your support
  15. Update. Still unaccounted for However I've logged almost 20 miles on foot in the last several days. My legs hate me! Get me through today! Still need lots and lots of prayers, thank you!!!
  16. I had several tiny bites of pumpkin pie. Didn't taste like what I expected it to taste. I quickly set aside an feel no need to touch it again. I love small victories!!!
  17. I'm almost 9 mths out, down 104 lbs. I'm almost 50 (that hurts to say that lol). My skin is doing well, surprisingly. I have somewhat of the turkey neck but oddly enough, proud of it! It sure beats chin upon chin. My thighs have bought the farm mostly but it's not horrible. My tattoos on my ankle have gotten smaller and the skin on my calves is great! It's a small price to Pay and we all anticipated it. Don't worry about it. It's a badge of honor!!!
  18. Glad for you it was an easy fix. I went bed wearing dbls shirts, soccer socks, my hat and scarf. Pretty soon I was peeling off and throwing clothes off as I acclimated my body temp.
  19. I pray the dr's find the answers bless your heart, I feel awful for you. The Lord is always there for you. Cast your burdens on to him, give to God, he has big shoulders. Hang in there sweetheart!!'
  20. Seriously? Sucking on roasted almonds is my saving grace. Having a couple roll around in my mouth is so soothing. I nibble a tiny sliver off like a bunny and grind it with my front teeth. Can't chew due to tj but it doesn't effect my front teeth so gums out. Thank thank you Blue Diamond single serve packs...they last me for days. Try it! Rub the salt off if that's a concern.
  21. Totally changed my life! So blessed. I brought my big coats for use.
  22. I'm not a hiker. I'm a street walker. Okay that sounds bad but you know what I mean, lol. We have a missing person in my county and I went on the search and rescue. Climbed a hill from hell, through the woods which were just strangled with downed trees and under brush. Made it through a frozen swamp. It was 1 degree. Worked for 4 hours and walked six miles. My Dad asked me if I could have done that a year ago. Nope. Due to the circumstances of my hike it's a sad victory. Going again today. If you pray pleas say a pray this person is found. Alive. Thanks guys
  23. I have a hard time giving up my coats. I'm still wearing a blue carrhart that's 11 years old and a 2 x. I can just get lots of layers on under it! I love it because the pockets are in the perfect spot, like a hoodie. I store stuff in there like a squirrel collects nuts lol. I'm very forgetful so when I go through my pockets it's like OH! That's where it went haha.
