  1. I was on a morphine pump. Sent home with oxycodone which I only took around 4.
  2. Great comparison ^ Can we return to normal please???
  3. PLEASE be careful! I hope you have observant support around you that can recognize the signs. I wouldn't dare go off my meds. But then I take a lot to keep me stable too. Just please be cautious!
  4. Okay okay!!! I didn't start this topic in order for it to all go so wrong. I'm SORRY! Can we all just get along now?
  5. She did. After the got it healed she had a procedure to take off that "apron" before doing the actual tummy tuck.
  6. My thighs! My poor thighs! They've boughten the farm! My belly is just as I expected it to be, loosey goosey but my thighs are a bit scary, all these little wrinkled folds. I totally expected my overly huge upper arms to fall victim but they surprisingly are doing well. Oh well, I knew going in I'd have this issue. I'd rather see loose skin than fat any day.
  7. I like my soups homemade so I can control the sodium. I don't care for any variation of chili as mine is really tasty And I make it on average at least once a month to last a week. To it I add a slice of pepper jack cheese and parm. I'm thinking of making Pasta E Fagulle, a copycat of Olive Garden.
  8. I make black bean chili, my favorite. I am not a lentil liker, any suggestions what I could replace them with? Thank you!!!
  9. I had a manic weekend followed the next day by depression and hopelessness. First time since surgery and I'm supposed to be "stable." Things started to take a turn for the worse but I got it together with some close friends and they got me through. I was in such a rage.
  10. I thought they were permanent! Joy to found they do go away!
  11. You know that hump at the neck that older people get? At 312 I had a doozy. I figured it would never disappear. It's going away!!!
  12. Is ticking me off! Yes, I know it's usually the scale that we're at odds with. I can see an actual waist. Back fat is disappearing but I've lost one silly inch in months. I should clarify I have lost almost a foot of waist. But it really shows now. Stupid measuring tape is going to find its way to a land fill!!!
  13. I love leftovers. I often make a pot of chili and eat it through the week (the dog gets her share). Vegetable soup with beef, beef stew, chicken noodle soup, stuffed pepper soup, cabbage soup. I love SOUP! Any suggestions for high protein, good carb soup ideas? Nothing with mushrooms! I use lots of ground round/sirloin. I want it to last a week. Please help get me out of my rut!!!
  14. It takes a while to adjust. I believe those that compare it to a full time job! You've taken the steps to brave surgery, not an easy decision. Good for you! Congratulations!
  15. Are you drinking enough to keep up with the amount of protein? I struggle to get down my 64 oz, lol.
  16. It's a huge endeavor! Like anything, it takes time. Just concentrate on your food and drink and recovery. This too shall pass.
  17. I know a women that had an abscess from the lose hanging belly skin. It was awful for her. I feel for you!
  18. Thanks for explaining. The abcess sounds horrid.
  19. I don't understand how I can tolerate tuna but no other seafood. I have no issues with canned tuna...Strange!
  20. I too had an easy time with regards to recovery. I also can eat more than many. I listen to my stomach and go (stop) from there. Just one bite to many and it returns. My difficult days were learning to eat and drink. It took me 3 months to get a grip. Sooo frustrating. One month I could barely get anything down I was always sick to my stomach! It eventually passed and it finally came together.
  21. I don't drive so I walk everywhere. Here's something to help you put 21 lbs lost into perspective. Go to the grocery store and buy 2 10 lb sacks of potatoes. Then walk with them for a mile. Get back to me on how that feels! It feels horrible!!! You're doing just great!
  22. Well I ended up using less than half of the bread. I turned my side veggies into a salad and ate the tuna with a spoon! How does the unwich do in the refrigerator? Can you get days worth of meals with it? Does the lettuce stay good?
  23. Is there anyone out there in sleeve world that was not put on a liquid diet preop? I just had to have clear liquids the day before. I also didn't have a drain...what is that for?
  24. It's nice to use our experiences with the sleeve to help others. Not many are familiar with the sleeve. They are totally intrigued with the process. I always say I've had bariatric surgery or the sleeve. I remember the first informational meeting I attended for myself. I had been through the process with my ex, he had bypass done in '07. I was stunned when the surgeon brought up the sleeve! I was not liking either of my choices (band or bypass) but knew if I was to go through with it, it would be bypass. He's telling about this new procedure the sleeve, my arms shoots in the air with many questions. It was perfect. I had to wait a long time because my insurance wasn't covering the surgery, I waited it out. Impatiently lol. It was totally worth it. I also went to 3 different surgeons before picking Barix Clinic.
