  1. 3 meals a day??? Wow! I was told to eat every 2-2 1/2 hours.
  2. We have a wonderful consignment shop. They have beautiful coats for $24.00. I also have bought them at thrift stores. Good luck with your surgery!!!
  3. I gave up 25 years, 3 kids ago! Between the stretch marks, the gallbladder scars and the c sections AND the sleeve...it's pointless, lol. Plus I'll have a tummy tuck scar eventually too. Just battle wounds. I don't view them as gross, it's just a visual map of my life.
  4. I'm grateful I can handle all beef. I will gladly trade that for fish and seafood. I'm sorry it doesn't work for you
  5. I have some nasty dark leg scars from a fall. A friend who is a PT says rub in cocoa butter and vitamin e. He says it will take awhile but it works!
  6. Morning after. Then I was brought "food."...jello, broth, Popsicle, etc.
  7. Wow! I'm in the 100 lb almost lost stretch. You look just gorgeous...Good for YOU!
  8. Oh so proud of you!!! Oh happy day! Congratulations
  9. My surgeon took 85% but I've read others who have had less taken out. Is there any sleever's that had more than 85% removed?
  10. Make your own! Davinci syrups sell every sugar free syrup there is. I worked in a coffe shop and came up with lots of ideas for low carb options. One in particular I was famous in a small town for, lol. I called it better than sex. It was an iced coffee with heavy cream (you could use skim, almond, etc). I put that and a shot of sugar free chocolate, a packet of sugar free hot chocolate and a tablespoon of Peanut Butter in a blender that crushes ice. Use as much Fluid as necessary to get it to iced coffee texture. I topped it with whip and drizzled it with Sugar Free Chocolate. This was 10 years ago when Atkins was getting big. To this day 8 mths out, I still do my variations of Atkins. I don't worry about fat. I learned when you buy most products that are low or fat free, they often replace the fat with sugar. My body and sugar do not need to be in the same place.
  11. Well as the one that started this train wreck of a thread, I had my first "slight" last night. A girl I went to HS with came for a visit. She was heavy in school but pretty normal size now. She commented that being fat is just mental and all you have to do is change your attitude and eat less. She quickly added"except for you." I wasn't insulted and I don't think she meant how she came across, like it's just a switch we can turn off. We never discussed weight the rest of the night or my surgery. I just enjoyed crossing my legs. Lol.
  12. It gets better. Your body has been put through a massive over haul. It's too bad you can't have more time off to rest and adjust. Keep telling yourself it gets better. Soon you will be telling the distraught newbies your journey. It's not fun but it's totally worth it.
  13. I spent my entire 2 nd month nauseated. EVERYTHING felt like I'd swallowed wet cement. It was the pits. I swear the day I got a script for nausea, it stopped. The first 3 months for me were not enjoyable BUT...it WILL get better, trust us on that, okay?
  14. I had to go to web view to find it, thank you!!!
  15. Nope it doesn't show those options darn it!
  16. Private messages? I'm on an iPhone only. Help!!!
  17. They will give you anti nausea meds by script. I pretty much was you. It took all of 3 months to get it together! It WILL fall in place! Don't mess around with depression talk to medical staff about you're mood change, please. I wish you the best
  18. What are your surgeons policies on performing them? Mine is one year out or at least 100 lbs. my insurance covers the tummy tuck. To those who've had the TT is it bad/painful? Does it make a difference??? Experiences needed. Thanks!
  19. Most everyone made some great points. I realized by reading these posts, there's one common denominator, y'all have jobs. Not so sure I wouldn't agree to keep it quiet in those circumstances. I am disabled and I don't work. My situation is much different then the rest of you. I never meant to start such an explosive thread. I apologize for all the upheaval. I respect everyone's wishes. I was only trying to share mine. I hope you all have a wonderful day and will let this go. This is no way to represent this most helpful board/app. Again, I apologize
  20. I went to an open house a few months post-op. It amazed and kinda revolted me watching people eat plate after plate of food. Then the plate of try one of everything desserts. I bet they ate for an hour straight. I call it mindless eating. I honestly didn't know what to do with my hands.
  21. I never had the 3 week stall and I don't understand why not. I've had a few minor stalls, 1 1/2 weeks at a standstill so far. One I think around month six. I review what I've been eating, paying attention if I've had too much sodium. Sodium is always the culprit for me. I cut back and down the scales go.
  22. Are you eating too fast? Are you giving it time for food to make it to your sleeve before you swallow another bite? I can feel my food food travel down and hit my sleeve. It hasn't happened often but there's been a few times I took one too many bites and it came up. Listen to your body. Best of luck!
  23. I'm pretty sure the turkey neck is temporary. My ex had bypass in 2007 and it's no longer noticeable. He was a big guy, 405 at surgery and in his late forties. I'm just really happy to see that dowagers hump under the back of my head and neck is disappearing!!! That's as bad as triple chins! This may sound odd but I like my turkey neck, lol.
  24. Thanks for all your great suggestions! I really love the Pasta e fagulle recipe. That's one of my favorites at Olive Garden!
