  1. Thanks Heart, that's a lot of good info and something to think about.
  2. I found OH and LBT around the same time. OH is so hard to navigate, even for me who is pretty computer savvy.. I don't know how they have many members for that reason alone. I could never figure out how to get back to a thread, and they cluster everything in weird ways. I always ended up in my state's Lap band area, when I just wanted a general area. Oh and if things gets reeealllyy sllowww.. my new favorite website for boredom, someone posted on my blog. It. Is. Teh. Best. www.thebestpageintheuniverse.com I still haven't finished all the articles, but it's just some jerk who has opinions (funny ones) on all kinds of random stuff.
  3. Hah, I am putting so much in my 401k, I planned to retire early. Looks like I may end up working forever with the way it's going!
  4. Indeed, but for you to have more than 1 'false positive' seems like winning the lottery, so I am hopeful for you that you're just very early on :cool2:
  5. I hear ya Pam, we got estimates from a cleaning lady, it was reasonable cost ($65 for every other week), but the lady came over to do an estimate, and she seemed like a tweaker. If I know one thing about tweakers.. they steal. I was really uncomfortable with her, so I passed. I haven't actively been looking since, but damn I'd love to have a maid. Russell keeps bringing it up too, he's one of the laziest people alive, he won't clean unless we have a big fight and I have to be cleaning when he's cleaning or he heavy sighs and huffs the whole time.. just like a kid! And with me being hurt, I can't do any bending cleaning.. I've said it before, it's too hard to find someone to clean that I know I can trust. Dealing with my bro & sis has made me leery of strangers in my home. They would have to be a big ray of sunshine and smiling, and no signs at all of drugs or depressions. Thus, no maid so far :cool2:
  6. LOL, she is pretty, she is my friend too. That's too funny!! Haydee is gorgeous!
  7. It looks like a person now :cool2: I wonder, if it's a boy and we call it a baby violet, is it going to give him a complexion??
  8. Amidst all of this, somehow I forgot to check my 401k in the past couple of months. What a shock I was in for. Normally I hover between -3 to -6% down. Today? -20% I'm a little nauseated. :cool2:
  9. Well, it's no help, but it looks like you can't. I use Photoshop to alter PDF's, so I was using Adobe Reader (assuming that's what you use?) and seeing how it's set up. It looks like you can make back-ups of everything you do on there, and then 'restore' if something ever happens in the future.. but if you don't make a back up, that field is empty.. which is silly, you could save your own versions, and 'recover' back to them.. but whatever.
  10. I never got morning sickness, so I didn't really believe I was pregnant till I saw the ultrasound. My doc called me in meds, even though I didn't need it.. one was a dissolvable tablet that goes on the tongue, I believe it is Zofran. She also told me Unisom is a good anti-nausea med (suprising!). It's also a sleep aid, which is what it's advertised for. Interestingly-more, the ingredient in Unisom is the same ingredient in normal Benadryl, but Unisom is 2x dose. Conclusion, try taking 1 Benadryl (NOT Benadryl D), as not to make you pass out, but to help nausea. If all else fails, take 2x Benadryl or 1x Unisom.
  11. Hm.. what did you edit the PDF in? And, did you 'save as' or did you save over the original? I'm guessing you saved over the original?
  12. I was sad to find out my favorite chicken salad.. the chicken salad, salad.. at Firehouse Subs.. has about 800 calories in it. I love that thing, and always thought I was eating right. Then I found out if I just got a ham sub, it's like 300 calories. Hrmph. Lets be good!! Or ya'll be good, I'll live vicariously through you guys doing great  I've been doing the exercises he told me to do when at the computer desk, I'm anxious to get home and do the ones he showed me. I want it to work!!
  13. Well, it wasn't quite as grandiose as I had hoped, but hopefully we're moving in a good direction. He said my pelvis is twisted, so he did some tests to see what hurts, and we found some things that hurt.. Then he showed me a few exercises, to do at home, and at work. After we did reps of those, he did the 'tests' again, and I wasn't hurting. So that's a good start. He told me I need to do these at home every day. I need to get a ball. That was cute, he asked if I wanted a boy or girl, I said girl.. so he goes to get a ball for exercises and it's pink with the little mermaid on it.. he said 'This will help you have a girl' LOL. So I'll do the exercises for a week, and see what happens. The good news is, he said my pelvis is instable right now, that's why it's shifted.. but he said when the baby starts filling out the area down there, it will stabilize itself. It's nice to hear it, I had read this generally goes away at 20 weeks, but that's self-diagnosing the problem.
  14. Roamans, they have online catalogue you can browse as well. http://www.roamans.com/ They go up to 5x.
  15. Call some more places? Call cities around you, that are within driving. If it saves a few thousand, it's worth a couple of hours.
  16. Oh but as for the rest of the show.. I'm glad it's back on, I'm curious to see if this 5-years-later thing ends up being how this show "jumps the shark". I don't like the Susan Mike thing, at all. Anyone wonder why we don't see Penny?? (Lynette's daughter).... she'd be about 8 by now, and would be a part of the family. I wonder why she's no where to be found.
  17. Good point Mac, and I don't know how I would have taken it, my mom (unlike some friends' moms, even though my friends were average size) never once tried to push me to lose weight. I was literally oblivious to being overweight till I was in my teens. I just thought I was a big girl, since I am also taller than all my friends. So on one hand, my mom did a great job of making me love myself, no matter what.. And I did. Only reason I went thru with the band, was due to crippling back pain. I thought I was smoking hot at 333lb! But no matter what weight I am, I don't suffer from self-esteem issues.. and I owe that to her. But then on the other hand, as a new-mom-to-be I am really scared about my kids being overweight. I don't want to be the mom who nags their kid about their weight, so I really plan to research healthy eating for kids, and not making it seem like a vanity thing. Morbid obesity, and diabetes is rampant in my family. My great g'ma, was bed ridden and died at the age of 35 from being so large. I was headed that way. I don't want my kids to be that way.
  18. Brandy.. around the time I found out I was pregnant, I was so tight I could barely manage liquids. I went for an unfill, and slowly but surely the swelling has worn off. I now feel UNBANDED. So (and no surprise) the band has not fixed my fat girl mentality, and I have been gorging like food is going out of style. I do have an appt on Oct 15, and plan to have it filled back up. I'm afraid to see how much weight I will gain between now & then. Will power is definitely not something I have ever been able to brag about.
  19. Haydee, I definitely have Acupuncture on the list! If today doesn't make me feel warm & fuzzy, I am moving on to it. But right now I am gung-ho and hopeful they will help me. Russell keeps saying I need to get the flu shot, I don't know how it occurred to him.. but then I read in my pregnancy bible that if you're pregnant during Dec. you should get it done.. then on the way to work there was a commercial saying pregnant women need to get the flu shot. I've never had a flu shot, I just know one of my professors years ago talked about how she got it ONCE and got so deathly ill she'd never get it again.. I never planned to get it. Wah  Do you just go to a local clinic for a flu shot? Piehole report.. Glass of milk with 1tbsp of hershey syrup.. mm.
  20. Any of you watch it tonight? Gabby & her kids are fat.. I watched it with my mom, and I felt so akward. I wanted to make comments about how the daughter ate half a sheet cake, and she's suppose to be 4, etc. I was that kid, so I was mixed with emberassment, and was wondering what my mom was thinking, so it was just akward all around. Like her trying on the princess costume-- that was me. My mom had to hand make my clothes, and alter clothes we'd find in the store so I could 'fit in'. Just made me cringe. Then I thought, these girls really are this fat.. in real life. What are their parents doing about it?? But, what did my mom do about it?
  21. For cost, I've seen from $1,500-$4,000 in posts. I would call your original surgeon, if they can't do it (I don't see why not though), maybe they can refer you. Or ask your GP if they know of a band doctor to refer you to.
  22. Oh one last thing.. Russell's family is so weird, I will never get use to it. If anyone in my family goes to the hospital for so much as a sprained toenail.. everyone is alerted immediately. About a month ago, his brother was in a car wreck (his 100th) and taken to hospital, and the next day one of his dad's horses kicked him in the groin (they are trainers).. and his mom called him like 3 days later, to let him know they were both in the hospital. Then I ask Russ 'Are they ok???' and he just says "I guess so". They don't communicate!! Tonight his mom called, his dad formed a hematoma from that groin kick, and 2 days ago he collapsed from shaking and 'stuff' (no full story!) and has been hospitalized since! They are treating him with antibiotics, and tomorrow they are going to go in and remove the fluid. But jeez, if my parents collapsed, I expect a call immediately, and I'd be going there. He's not going, he doesn't seem concerned. I don't get them.
  23. My theory on the pills.. if they ever find one that works, it would be breaking news, CNN & Fox would be covering it, and your doctor would actual recommened it. It would not be for sale late nights on infomercials for $19.95 a bottle + free gift.
  24. Not that it matters, but *my* problem with OP is not necessarily their complaints- everyone is entitled to their opinion.. But 'Lap band - don't do it!!' is unnecessary, it's fear-mongering.
