Shrinkin' Violets Part 3 Read HERE!
I think someone else mentioned this, but don't remember the solution.. made the ham & cheese soup, mine was very watery and the cheese curdled into globs (I used all shredded cheddar). Taste was good, but texture was yuck. Russ didn't like it (I think probably just because of the texture). More for me! But is there a solution for the curdling? I have a feeling when I reheat it throughout this weekend it'll only get worse. I think I'm going to put some guacamole in it tomorrow too. Dunno why, just sounds yum.

Mmmm Jammie pants, I still got over an hour plus the 30-45m drive home.. ugh. I so can't wear my non-maternity pants anymore.. I have been wearing my stretch jeans, but they don't work anymore, I am miserable today with them. Cutting circulation off to my hips.

Thanks for the reminder of the soup Suzie! I bought the stuff to make it, but it must be pushed to the back of the fridge, out of sight out of mind! I am going to make that tonight too, give me something to eat throughout the weekend. Heather, if you like tofu, you could just use the tofu. Or beans.. beans are high protein.

update on me ...
Just curious, what's your reaction to being told you may be in labor for a couple of days? I mean I know it's always a real possibility, but to actually be told near time they think it will go down that way? Woohoo though, seems like right around the corner!

American Idol 2009
I love having 2 tivos! I've been watching it, I fast forward through everything except the actual auditions. this year, nothing too exciting this far. I didn't think the girl in the bikini was any good, and I resent the fact she's making it all over the internet right now because she showed up in a bikini.. so what??? She wasn't naked, it's not like every single person who saw her in a bikini can't go right down the road and see someone in a g-string bikini if they wanted to.

OH! We got the wiifit in yesterday, set it up. I was getting ready for the movie, so I watched Russell set up an account first.. his wii-fit age was TWENTY! Feh. But it said he was obese, and he's gained more weight than I thought he has. I was shocked, he's not far off from me, but I look a lot bigger--and I'm taller.. how is that fair?! Then I did my profile, my center of balance was way off and after something it says "Do you find yourself tripping when you walk?" and we both laughed and he said "Why yes Wii, she does." LOL. So maybe I'll learn some balance with this thing. I think we both had the same BMI- 33. But my wiifit age was 34.. so it said negative stuff about me, where as it told HIM despite being out of shape, he's in relatively good condition-something to that affect. Then I watched him run, where you follow a guy.. I got a kick out of that, I hear Russ panting and can't breathe and this little bobble head guy in a purple outfit keeps gesturing at him to hurry up LOL. He did hula hoops too.. and then a little yoga with what he said was a 'hot trainer'. I said 'hot??' and he goes 'it was her or the dude' and I said 'yeah but HOT to describe a flat chested cartoon??'. I can't wait to play with it this evening, and have my HOT guy trainer. Hehe.

Tracy- What do you think of the Twilight series? I kept hearing about it (I saw the movie, was eh I thought), so I went to amazon to order the set.. then I read reviews and people were saying it was overrated basically, so I backed out. Benjamin Button WAS a good movie, I really did like it, it was very much like Forrest Gump-- but it WAS wayyyy tooo looong to be sitting in the theater in a bra & maternity pants. I checked my phone clock several times, my ass was hurting and I kept shifting and fidgeting. The fancy seats actually tilt down, so you have to use your legs to push yourself up and doing that for 3 hours really takes a toll. During a war scene in the water, lots of blowing up and rumbling and it set Carson off. He was going crazy, so I was trying to layer my coats on top of me to cushion the noise lol. It is 12 degrees today.. waaah?! Good luck with the goal Haydee, you weren't in 18 last time we saw you were you? (Bottoms I mean). Tracy with scary neighborhood- Uhm.. yeah MOVE. That would have be panic-attacking every single night. I worry about break ins and I've never lived somewhere that had a single one. Everytime I hear a noise I go over a game plan.. what I'll do, how do I get Russ up without him making noises (impossible), where is my bat, what about the dog--is she leashed tonight? Etc. I'm a mess!

Same here, when docs wouldn't give me meds and I was seeing chiros and PT's (way back when, before I got cortisone epidurals), my PT said it was counter productive for him to try to work with me in as much pain as I was in because I wasn't able to do much.. so he called my doc and had them call me in an Rx for muscle relaxers.

Uhmm.. attractive as an old man? NO THANKS. Sean Connery is 'attractive as an old man' ;P Clint Eastwood is NOT. Movie was still fantastic. Ordered the nursery furniture today, weeee. Can't wait till it comes in and Russell puts it together so I can take pics for ya'll. Glad to hear you liked it Pam, that is encouraging. The medium popcorn is no better, $1 more for .5cup more. I got my asian salad to-go from Tokyo today. I also got 3 more to-go. Going to smuggle one into the movie tonight. I love these salads.. their dressing is soooo good.

Kinda discouraged
Take it with a grain of salt, your friend is not intentionally trying to sound rude, but it's probably hard for her to simply be happy for you without some jealousy. It probably also makes her feel like a bad friend when she is jealous, so she probably does not want to be reminded about it.

I'm going to see the Benjamin Button movie tonight. Me & friends were trying to pick a movie, he said this one.. Russ said it had bad reviews, but nothing else out that neither of us have seen so we're going. I'm looking online and I see good reviews.. any of you seen it yet? Only thing that stands out as a CON to me, is it is 3 hours long! UGH. I am too ADD for a 3 hour long movie. We'll see if it can keep me attentive. It's from the writer of Forrest Gump--which I like, albeit another long movie. Long movies are best at home. Oh well. Haven't been out with my movie buddy since before holidays started, so I'll tough it out.. plus I get popcorn. Unlike Pam, I make no excuses against the popcorn lol. I am getting a small, which is 5 bucks and literally only 1.5 cups..everytime I order small they hold up the teeny tiny bag and go 'still want a small?'. MMHM. But I will pass on candy, I am trying really really hard to get this candy thing under control.

Wow it sure is quiet in here lately! Denise, I didn't even read others' emails, might be what I do today when work gets slow. I had roast beef at Cracker Barrell last night (mmm). Had a mini blueberry muffin and 1/2c of orange juice for b'fast today, working on water right now. This perma-allergy crap I got going on is so annoying!!!! My nose has been raw & chapped for months now, every morning I wake up sneezing my head off and snot all over the place. I go through a box of tissue every other day. Claritin and Zyrtec haven't helped, and I split the tip of my nose from being chapped, which really hurts, and it's splitting more Also have blisters inside my nose, mom gave me a cold sore med which isn't doing anything.. pharmacist said to try neosporin, so I'm doing that too.. still no help. And my hands have flared up really bad with whatever that is. We're suppose to get -12 with windchill tomorrow--coldest it's been here in 15 years. News was talking about covering up water heaters in the garage?? Our kitchen sink goes to an outside wall and yesterday morning when it was 20 degrees it froze up (eek), so last night I made sure to drip faucets and left the cabinets open. Carson has been kicking quite a bit this morning while I'm at work, a repetitive kick which feels like muscle spasms (which get really old when it happens for long periods of time!!) Guess I'll just be happy he's alive & kickin'! You guys mentioned feeling them roll over is cool, I haven't felt that yet.. I just feel kicks. 3-d ultrasound is scheduled for Feb. 4. Russell is starting to get excited about building robots and doing science experiments with Carson. I sure hope he likes science LOL. My mom told him it'll be a while before he can do that stuff, and Russell said "just a few years". I guess we're going to have a child prodigy who builds robots at 3? I won't burst his bubble.. he can do science experiments and Carson can watch and eat the glue.

I did good today (except for the Snickers). Had a turkey Sammie from Quiznos (those things are GOOD). Lots of Water. Russ sent me this, kinda cute.. sends you your e-mail in the future. I'm deciding what to write! FutureMe.org Oh and I got my end of the year sales report, I did $200k more in sales than boss projected he wanted me to do. Woot woot, but this year he wants me to do even more, so I set the bar too high?! With the economy, and companies merging, it's going to be harder to get numbers to climb right now. Hopefully by our rush season this year the economy will be looking better? Heh.

Breastfeeding and getting lapband??
There's a thread just a ways down from this one about the same thing... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f131/breastfeeding-pre-post-op-diets-help-70386/ Beyond that, I think it's better to ask your doc about it..

((Tracy)) I know how you feel, when it hurts it really is depressing and makes you feel helpless and I hate you're having to go through all that Wish I could help you, but I know I can't! Hope you feel better too Pam. Zicam! Know it, love it. You know my whole speal about candy not the size of my head? IRONICALLY, we got home from the movie (and I did good), we had a gift basket on our porch. Our friends from NM sent us a (late) gift basket for the holidays.. what was in it? Nothing but crazy sized candy. 5 chocolate bars the size of my head in all kinds of flavors, plus about 8 packs of fun size candies, and a couple boxes of Doves. Aye yi yi. Me & Russ both picked out 1 candy we liked (I took snickers and he took Dove chocolates) and I brought the rest into work for everyone to have. We saw Grand Terino last night, VERY GOOD MOVIE. I don't know Clint Eastwood so there was no hype for me in that (That was DH & dad's draw to see it), but it was a drama and I boo'hood a couple times--I don't normally cry during movies. Lot of racial slurs though, I think the most I've ever heard in 1 movie.

'bama bandiversary bash/baby shower!!
Probably because not a lot of people travel to H'ville these days with the economy. We're a business hub, people come for NASA & the Arsenal.. but with layoffs and cutbacks, etc.. people probably aren't sending their businessmen here as much, and so the rental cars are desperate for some business.. Although I should say, our little bitty airport (which is very clean and nice, compared to any I've been to--and no puke piles!!) they just passed approval for 65 million in renovations. I can't even imagine what that means.. when you see it, you'll understand!

My sugar binging is definitely out of control, and it's the vicious cycle--upset about my weight gain, eat because it doesn't matter at this point and I want to sooo much, repeat. I decided (last night) that today I will stop with the sugar binging. But I had 1 cookie left from WalMart, so I had that for breakfast with a small glass of OJ. No more sugar overloading!!! I just gotta break the cycle. I was laying on my side this morning, and rolled onto my stomach--which isn't very comfortable anymore-- and Carson kicked BIG TIME. He made my whole torso move with one hard kick. I see who's in charge here.. tons of bad food, not laying comfortably.. :wink2: Good luck at the doc Jenn! Denise if you decide you can afford it in the next couple of months, let us know.. love to have you there (doesn't matter how often you post!!) Alabama in June is HOT & HUMID. Keep that in mind, and we're going to be SO THANKFUL to have the lake right outside the house.

I would supplement with a shake every day, and give band doc a call and see if they have anything to say on the matter. I'm green with envy, I could split how much I've gained with you so far and we'd still both be gaining too much!

I have no idea if it's cheaper, but Enterprise on Madison Blvd/Hwy 20 is outside of the airport (between airport & my house), so if they're cheaper (although $15 a day is pretty dang cheap!) they're worth checking out. $305 sounds about right, when I flew to TX it was about $300.

If you're slow cooking the chili (I cook mine 2-5 hours depending on time I have), I add water throughout that time to keep it soupy. The water picks up all the flavors in the chili and it doesn't seem like you just added water. I just way over ate dinner, feeling sooo full and ick from it 2 fish sticks, 1/4 head of cabbage and 1/2 can of creamed corn.
