  1. Might be a psychosis problem of mine, but I try to reason why something would or would not work. And this nerve is one of those things I wanted to play with. It's stupid stuff I do, like.. if I chew the crap out of a chewable Vitamin I think it will absorb better.. or, if I drink something cold my stomach will shrink and I can eat less, etc. So I thought maybe if I eat a certain way, I can hit the nerve. Just stuff I do out of boredom.. desperation..play with my 2nd calling to be a scientist.. I dunno.
  2. Blue C sounds cool, never seen a place like that.
  3. Wheet- Jollies is a relative term, I meant it as.. some people like it. And you just explained why you like it, so yes, that's your 'jollies' :wink2:
  4. I have had to take a pregnancy test immediately prior to any surgeries I've ever had as well. So I guess cross your fingers it's not happening just yet :wink2:
  5. I lost 35lb in my first week.. I didn't LOOK like I lost 35lb, so I don't know what the weight was. I started with 150+ to lose.
  6. Oh and I just had to add this, it pops in my head everytime I see 'heated' religious debates. People only get heated because it bothered them.. In an episode of Six Feet Under, Claire who is an artist and in college for art.. is told she's not an artist. She gets so upset. Later, someone told her.. You must doubt that you're an artist. Because that's like someone telling me I am purple. I would laugh at them, because I know I'm not. People may say something along the lines of ignorance from being religious, or that they know more about the Bible than Christians, blah blah.. and you should just laugh. :wink2:
  7. That was a well thought post. I may have thought it sometime or another, but it seems like it won't do anything. I've learned in the real world as well as online, there's some things that are just best not to bring up. I am a christian, who does not particularly care for the politics of church, and fellowship.. But I have my beliefs and that's enough for me. So, I don't like to go anywhere and 'debate' things like religion. That's like someone trying to debate with you that the grass is purple. You believe what you believe, it's not going to 'solve' anything. Why bother? I don't see the benefit of debates like that. But, my 2 cents. I've peeked into religious 'debates' here once or twice, but it's not my cup of tea. It doesn't make sense to me. But I think if there's people out there that gets their jollies from it, let em have it *shrug*.
  8. Obviously not! I skimmed through and didn't see anything about it having to do with the stomache (it mentions it connects at the abdomen at some point). Now I see, wish it had more info. I was hoping to see pics of where it hits the stomach.
  9. eggs & tuna are quality foods. During mushies I was still tight from the swelling, but once my swelling went down, I would have easily been able to eat 3 scrambled eggs and some tuna. And that's right about your size, if your BMI is only 34, the smallest band (which was not too terribly tight on my 43 starting BMI- I forget it exactly), the band probably is not restricting you at all at this point. Now you just have to make conscious decisions to eat smaller, but you're healing and if you had the eggs and tuna and you didn't get sick, don't worry about it. You're not shoving candy and Cookies and ice cream down your pie hole, right?... right? hehe! When you get your fills and restriction going, then you won't be able to eat that much. But for now, it's not unusual.
  10. My bill is actually more expensive, and more often. I buy fresh stuff now (fruits, veggies), and they go bad so quick and they tend to be more expensive then I guess what I use to buy (bulk crap).
  11. Uhm... Post-op.. and pre-good restriction.. I could eat like a Chili's burger (which are huge) if I took one side of the bun off. And then I would eat it with knife & fork and only could get down a couple bites. I tried to eat a Big Fish from Burger King and failed on the first 'bite'. Since good restriction, the thought of biting into a burger is kind of scary. A tiny piece of chicken gets stuck, so 2 pieces of bread and whatever is in between it are not going to go anywhere in my body. Even if I chew and chew, it would be too much to swallow at once, so I'd have to break it apart in my mouth and swallow smaller pieces at a time.. and bread chewed up a lot is pretty nasty. It will all depend on your restriction and you individually. I can't eat a 'bite' of something like a burger or taco or burrito.
  12. Hoohoo, I just came by to say.. what's a tickler! Your ticker on the other hand.. make sure you copy the right coding, you need the BBC code for this forum.
  13. Just curious, I went to look up info on Vagus nerve. I've heard something about this, but didn't know the name of it. So anyway, in a nutshell nothing shows the Vagus nerve doing anything about hunger, and here's the wikipedia entry Vagus nerve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Doesn't mention anything about it being a trigger for fullness. Is it possible you have the wrong name? I actually wanted to read up on this stuff, but didn't know the name of it..
  14. I have seen the shopping addict, gambling addict, belemic, etc.. On Big Medicine they have done someone 300-400lbs heavier than him. I would think if he went on the crash course diet they give you pre-op (seems to be 6 monthsish for these cases), he'd be able to do the surgery. And if they have the insurance, they need to jump on it. He's too young to be going through all that.
  15. Funny! I never heard that before. I watched the videos this weekend that Tom made.. I had to watch it 3-5 times.. initially, I had the experience that I was tuning out, and I see his mouth move but I'm not hearing it. So I tried round 2. Then I realized by round 3, I AM listening, he's just not even forming complete sentences. He was babbling and it made no sense. By round 4 my mom was making brain-washing noises, that we were all being brain washed. It is disappointing, I always liked him. Then he became a looney tune, and I wonder what he did to that 20 year old girl to marry him and put up with his crazy antics. Scientology has already ruined his career. I guess he has enough money he doesn't care! I stopped watching him a while ago, he even looks crazy now with his mouth closed.
  16. Yeah, I TiVo it too, I have Intervention marathons on the weekends hah. Yeah that's what it said, he was too overweight for testing. Now what does that mean?
  17. Anyone else catch it? I watch Intervention quite a bit, this is the first time I saw them do one on someone addicted to food. The guy was 546lbs, 22 years old. So we follow him and his addiction to food, then they have an intervention. At some point in the show, they said he is too overweight to be considered for bariatric surgery. That's BS, he is not! I've seen people larger than him get it. And, they put you on a diet, so he'd lose some first. In any event, if you didn't see it.. they sent him somewhere. And he lost 74lbs in 4 months. I'd say now he most definitely qualifies for surgery. Anyway, thought it was weird to see an Intervention on food.
  18. I doubt they will band you while pregnant, they can't do unnecessary surgeries (meaning, unless it's an emergency).. the anesthesia isn't good for babies.
  19. Hey! No one is callin my phone!
  20. I haven't tried the frozen ones, didn't know they were at my grocery store. I will be trying those next.
  21. Hah hah.. no one gave me looks, I didn't even think about it. They had tons of signs for the 'skinny latte'. I wondered how they made it so low-cal, and from taste I did not realize it was sugar-free syrup. Very impressed.. any sugar free syrups I've tried TASTE like sugar-free syrups. Watch it be they just didn't make mine skinny.. haha!
  22. This weekend I stopped at a Starbucks and wanted to try that new Skinny Latte. It's 90 calories for the tall (smallest size) and 10g of protein! I got the vanilla, and it was YUMMY! 5 thumbs up! Who needs a nasty protein shake? :rolleyes2:
  23. Oh yeah, I had a skinny latte from Starbucks this weekend. 90 calories for the tall, and TEN (COUNT EM!) grams of protein. IT WAS WONDERFUL.. I got the Vanilla one. I give it 2 thumbs up, and what a way to get that protein in!
  24. Whew, I go away for a weekend and everything changes!! Is the new girl at the top of our forum HOLDING HER BOOB?! Is she saying it's bigger than the apple? I'm very confused. Had a LOT of fun in Tunica this weekend, lost the money we brought, but it lasted till the last minute, which is all I can ask for lol. I did bad on food, I was trying to binge. And by try, I mean I ate way too much and just spit it all up. I did this every single day! I hate that about me. I knew better, and I just didn't care. I wanted to binge, and I couldn't, so I did what I could. Silly me. Well I came home and 247lb on the scale, so I guess I didn't gain anything by all my sweet indulgences and rich food. One night we went to a fancy restaurant and I got veal oscar.. mmm.. veal pan seared with lump crabmeat and bernaise sauce on top, and 2 spears of garlic asparagus on top of that.. and it was all sitting in a lobster bisque. Food porn yet? Then I had a creme brulee. I wasn't able to eat much of the veal, but all the crab meat, 1 asparagus and sauce.. and all of the brulee heh. Before I got that, I indulged on the pre-meal rolls. And ended up getting sick in the bathroom. I was in line for the bathroom, and I'm spitting up into my mouth, trying not to let it come out.. and this girl comes up (drunk) and is going on and on about how bad she has to pee. And I just smirk at her (she was wanting me to let her go first). SHE WOULD NOT SHUT UP.. and I couldn't open my mouth to talk. I debated (seriously) spitting up on her so she'd shut up.. haha! DENISE YOU LOOK GREAT! WOOOWOOO you don't need the sexy dressing lessons!!!! The morning show I listen to every morning.. Rick & Bubba.. well, this morning I found out Rick's 2 year old son drowned this weekend. So all morning they have been reciting scriptures, praying, talking about the mysterious ways God works, and how they are just greatful to him, etc. And I was just.. I dunno.. I'm religious, but I don't know how you can be greatful to God during a time like this. They're better than me! Anyway, very sad.. been praying for their family, I don't know how you get through something like that. Behind at work & school, so can't post anymore. I'll check back in later!
  25. So, does this lazy river have carts on the side where you can buy Margaritas from your tube? hehe.
