That is most ppls fears, having never had surgery before, but let me ease your concerns. I have be put out more time than I can remember and its the best part of any procedure. One minute you're there, then your gone and it seems like a minute and you're back again.
Just remember, the Drs and anesthesiologist are professionals, they're there to keep you alive and well. You are well monitored for any signs of distress and taken care of.
You'll do great! Keep your eye's on the prize and don't allow yourself to think of "what if's".

Maddysgram reacted to Sojourner in 2 weeks post op - hungry, gaining, eating the same amount as before?
Welcome to the post op phase referred to as "Bandster Hell". Known for the time before fills when a bandster heals, and hunger returns.
It is important for you to continue to follow the eating rules given to you by your surgeon so that you will not stretch your pouch. Yes, this does eventually get easier to cope with, but some people never get to the green zone, and have to take more responsibility for their compliance with eating the way and in the amounts which your surgeon advised you to.
Just because you can eat more than the prescribed portion does not mean that you should.
Best wishes for a successful journey...

My band is totally empty of all Fluid, and I have a considerable amount of restriction. I am almost in the elusive "green zone" with no Fluid. When I did have fluid in my band, it was too tight.
Everyone is an individual, and no two people have identical experiences on their weight loss journey.

You wouldn't wash Bon Jovi's sweat off of yourself, at least I wouldn't.
Happy belated 19th anniversary, skinny mini!
Makes sense that one rockstar would hang out with another rockstar.

Missy is absolutley right.. it's your health.. I had a fill of .2 the first time.. so .5 is not the smallest amount... You or your insurance paid for the surgery and after care.. and you should be the boss... I think you are too tight . You must be able to eat and drink without sliming.. a slip is not what you want.. I hope you resolve your issue and move on to a healthier , happier you...

.5cc is not the smallest possible. .1cc is the smallest possible.
You simply cannot just leave your band too tight or you're risking a slip. You have to take control of the situation, tell her (don't ask, tell her) that .5cc is not the smallest amount and you want a smaller amount removed. Don't let this even be a negotiation with her. If she refuses? Demand to see the surgeon himself.
This is your health at stake- take control of it and don't accept anything less than the good care you deserve.
    Best wishes.

Maddysgram reacted to Sojourner in How to eat after a stuck- would love some adivoce!
I developed gastritis after 4 taking doses of liquid NASIDS, 2 taken in
December, and 2 the following February. I took the medication with my surgeon's permission. The side effects were painful, and I never want to experience that again. It required a 2 month regimen of medication to recover.
I was advised that if I got anything stuck, I was to return to a total liquid diet for the rest of that day, and the following day only eat those foods which have a lower risk for getting stuck. And remember the rules about chewing.
After a stuck episode, the pouch is understandably irritated and needs a rest with a liquid diet. I rarely got anything stuck, but I felt better just on liquids for a day.
I conduct a cost/risk benefit analysis when it comes to medical related decisions. I would much rather be conservative with liquids, than risk any possible complications later.
Other's mileage on the topic does vary...

That's ridiculous and a failure on your provider's part. Aftercare is 90% of the band's success. I'd call right away and find out about support groups in your area or call some other offices to find one. You'll benefit greatly from a local support group.

    I'm sorry you're struggling.
When is the last time you saw your doctor and nutritionist? Good aftercare is so crucial to success with the band. It makes me sad that you feel "banded and sent on your way". You should never feel like that.
Are you tracking your calories? Do you exercise at all?
