  1. When my girl is happy, I'm ecstatic! !!! You go girl! The world is your oyster. Soooooo proud of you
  2. Look at my profile picture and you tell me....lol Really it's a piece of diet cake. My daughter and nurse said " you look pretty good for someone who has just come out of surgery". You don't get those terrible gas pains like with the LB. Relax, you'll do great.

Glad everything worked out well. That was really kind of your sil. How did your hub make out?
  4. My port flipped at 3mths out, I continued to lose. No fill at orginal LBS. 6wks post op 2cc, 4 wks later port is flipped no fill. Revision surgery and another 6wks until a fill. 4wks after that another fill and finally restriction. During this whole process, I continued to lose weight by sticking to my surgeons instructions. It was another diet for a long while, but the band does work. Sorry you are having problems. Its time to log what your eating and being sure to get in your protein first. Tell your hunger to shut the hell up, mind over matter.IMHO

Good Afternoon Sunshine, lol Hey, are you drinking enough water? I get really dizzy, if I don't get at least 64oz. Just a thought. Also got to stop taking my B/P medicine too. Good day sunshine!
  6. LOL, don't think I'll be doing that tour. I wouldn't be able to resist choc. chip cookies either. Great job, it could have been oh so much worse.
  7. By now, you know I love your articles. Keep'em coming!!!!!

I totally agree! You both are loosey goosey, but not only with you bands.lol
  9. About as fair as JackieO posting outdated statistics as fact.j/s Jean's statement is closer to fair, being statistics show weight gain after band removal. I hope and pray your lifestyle change does stick. I'd like to think that also.
  10. I don't understand why you hang here, if you loathe everyone so much? We really don't mind hearing about bands not working, but when ppl start posting old out of date info and claiming it to be true, kinda gets under our skin. Fact is there are a few complications , ask msmaui, that are no fault of the patient. But the majority of complications are from non compliance. So if you want ppl to say, its ok, eat & drink whatever you want and as much as you want and the problems you are having with your band is the bands fault, not yours. That's just not going to happen.
  11. We have all failed so many diets in the past, it is programmed into to us that this will just be another failure. It takes awhile for our minds to catch up and until it does, I tell that inner voice "to shut the hell up, I'm in control now". Even now after losing over 90 lbs, every once in awhile that voice is telling me, "so you lost some weight, you've done that before and gained it all back,j/s" and I'm still saying "Shut the hell up ". I didn't gain it over night and I'm not going to lose it over night. I'm just taking it, One day at a time. I screw up, I start all over. We can and we will do this!

definitely not the easy way out!!! Every day is a new day to start over. Don't beat yourself up. Rome wasn't built in a day, we didn't become over weight in a day and we will not lose the weight in a day. Just don't give up.
  13. I'm getting a massage! Thanks for the lesson, Cheryl.
  14. Thank you, Alex! Without LBT I'm sure I would have been a struggling bandster. I know I have learned more here than any of the other classes I was forced to take. I've made life long friendships. The support system is unmatched to any other. I know, without a doubt, LBT is the reason for my success. I quit going to my local support group because it was a mixed group of all the WLS and most were LB bashers. Not pleasant! What I tell anyone who post their introduction here is "Welcome, you are in the right place for knowledge, support and inspiration." We owe it all to you! My most heart felt appreciation, Janet aka Maddysgram, Madds, Maddawg, dawg
  15. I noticed and that's what I love about you! I'm a true believer in laughter being the best medicine, whether physically or mentally.
