  1. My thought is you don't have to go to a gym to get exercise. Take the kids for a walk, ride bikes do workout video's. Now the fills are a different story. Do you not have the extra money for fills, or is husband just being controling? If you have the money, I'd just do it. The band can't help you if it isn't working properly. This is about your health , tell hub it was a total waste of thousands of dollars, not working with the band. Congratulations on the weight loss so far! Good luck!
  2. Being nervous is totally understandable! I just kept thinking about how much better my life was going to be. Deep breathing and praying.lol Night before surgery I was calm, slept all night and had no problem showing up for surgery. Hanging out here helped too. Best Wishes on your journey!
  3. That is awesome! Congratulations! sorry about losing your acct. I haven't had that problem, must be some way to fix it.
  4. Nothing feels better than baggy pants. Congratulations that's great!
  5. yep, you're right. Not going to change.
  6. Congratulations & welcome to the forum! Glad you're doing well. Post often so we can get to know you. Good luck on your new journey!
  7. Yep, we've all been there, done that.lol Evidentually it will get better, but until then like TMF said, stick to Drs plans and fill those hunger pangs with water, sf hot chocolate, decafe tea or any other allowable fluid. Good Luck!
  8. Smells really got to me when I was first banded, any smell not just food. The nausea could also be a sign of dehydration so make sure you're getting enough fluid. Call your Dr if you are not feeling well, they git paid the big bucks for taking care of you. Best Wishes!
  9. Banjo gave you some good advice. It took me every day for a week to understand my way around here.lol Feel free to PM me and if I can't answer your questions, I'll find someone who can. Good Luck!
  10. Welcome to the forum. Your weight history sounds like more than half of us on the forum. You will find a lot of knowledge, support & inspiration here. Stick around, post often. Best wishes on your new journey! PS I love my band
  11. No, all that throwing up is not good. Please call your Dr . The amount of your fill really makes no difference with others. Some ppl need no fill, while others need a total fill 10-14cc. You have to listen to your body and do what is right for you. Good Luck & Happy New Year!
  12. In my thoughts & prayers! You need us, we're here. I'm so happy and proud of our LBT family, a lot of loving, caring ppl here.
  13. Welcome to the forum Vanessa, It really doesn't matter where anyone lives, there is a lot of support, knowledge & inspiration here 24/7. Jump in any time.
  14. (((((samskiles))))) We know this is painfull for you and we can't take that pain away, but we are here to help you through it. Everyone is right, this is your time. The time to make you healthy and no one can do that but you. Do what is best for you right now. You're young and taking part in a life changing surgery, it's going to be so amazing for you. The darkest hour means dawn is just in sight. Something good is coming your way. Months before my surgery, actually Easter morning, I was praying for God to just let me die. I had a bad car accident and I couldn't stand the pain anymore. Months and months of treatments made no difference. I was faced with living the rest of my life in agony. Since my insurance deductible was met I decided to get LB surgery, my only hope of relieving pain. Jan 10 is 1 yr anniversary of accident and I'm so blessed to be alive. I have a life again. I know your pain is just as real as my pain was to me, but having this surgery is going to be a blessing to you, just as it was to me. Don't let anyone or anything take that from you. God Bless
  15. You're the first I've heard of with this complication. Really sorry you have had this happen. What does Dr say about losing your spleen as far as long term? Really, really sorry!
  16. It's still early for me (3mths), but really pleased too, and one look at Floridays stats gives me a lot of hope.
  17. Lol, I had that same choice and asked my Dr " what do I know". He told me that the Allergan Lapband has more restriction from the get go than Realize, so I picked Allergan b/c I'm in a hurry to get knee replacement. But like Missy said, Allergan just recently went up for sale, so I don't know how that will change things. I'd talk to surgeon about the company selling out and get his opinion. Good luck!
  18. I'm from Englewood, south of you. I have a friend in Winter Haven, a cashier at Publix. Crackers were not on my allowable list in liquid stage. They might get mushy in soup and turn to gummy flour balls in pouch. If it wasn't on your list, I wouldn't do it without asking surgeon. Gas is very normal after banding, matter of fact, I don't think it ever really goes away.lol You will find a lot of helpful advice, support and inspiration on this forum. A lot of great people. BTW, congratulations for being on the banded side. Best Wishes for success! Post often and Happy New Year!
  19. That's where my port is and yes stays sore for quite some time. Where's your port?
  20. 8 cal no sugar I don't see why not, unless a lot of caffiene which is a diuretic and dehydrate you. If so, drink twice as much water.
  21. LOL, I grew up with parents that demanded plate to be cleaned or no dessert. Dad worked at a large bakery that made products for grocery stores.Brought home cakes & pies every night . 56 yrs later and the rest is history. Though to parents defense, they grew up during the war in England when food was rationed. Waste not, want not. lol
  22. Looks yummy, I'll have to try it. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!
  23. I have a Fitbit one and got my daughter (fitness nut) one too. We both like it.
