You can't add their picture. They have to update their profile. So you can ask your Dr if they will or not. My Drs info is very old and his picture is not there and I keep forgetting to ask him if he'll update it.

C'mon, brag a little! :)
Well I'm not a success story yet, but I wanted to share my journey so far. Before I was banded I had no life. Everything in my life was met with pain and hopelessness. I couldn't walk, couldn't play with my grandkids and could barely manage personal hygiene. The LB was my last shred of hope. Today 3mths out I am so happy with my band and I don't even have restriction yet. Thanks to everyone that has been giving advice and answering questions here on LBT for the last 10mths, I will be a success story. In 3 short months my life has changed so much. No longer in agony, more energy and for the first time in along time I feel like I have a wonderful future before me. I've lost 65 lbs and I'm half way to my goal. I am facing a small bump in the road, but nothing that would stop me from getting the band again if I had the choice. So a big Thank You to everyone here on LBT for your support, inspiration and most of all your wisdom. Without you I don't think I would have success in my future. You are my LB family!

Question about pre-op diet
I was one of the lucky one's and did not have a pre op diet, b/c I had already lost weight before banding. My Dr will order a 2wk liquid diet if need be. So it is a patient by patient choice. If you look at my ticker, that weight loss was all me, not the band. I have not received enough fills for restriction yet. So at the beginning it is "just another diet", but this time with a tool to help reaching goal and staying there.

First Post Not yet banded
Nice to have you here. I think most of us can say the same as you, we've all lost weight many times and either gained it back or quit before reaching goal. That is the reason I chose LBS, can't do yoyo dieting no more. You are very wise to take your time and learn all there is to know about the LB. You can learn something from both the one's doing it right and even from the mistakes others make. I hung around here for 8mths before being banded and learned more here then at all the meetings I had to have to qualify. By the sound of it, you will do very well. Wishing you all the best on your journey!

did you "fall off the bandwagon" this holiday season?
My sister did that with her gastric bypass, really sad.

FEELING SICK TO MY STOMACH, NAUSEA AND ABDOMINAL PAIN?
There is a stomach virus going around, or maybe you ate something that didn't agree with you. When it's air in your stomach it's always best to keep walking just like post op, make it move.

New to the forum
It is hard! Before LBS we've all been there asking ourselves why we do this to ourselves. Right now, I want my life back. I'm 56 yo, for three years I've been unable to go Christmas shopping and grocery shopping caused so much pain it would make me break out in a sweat, that my hair would be soaked just from the effort. Noticed I said "it would"? I'm half way to goal and I can do these things now. For me it all comes down to I WANTED my life back. When I look at something that's empty calories I say to myself, do you need this or do you want it? What do you want more, your life back or crap. Is the crap worth trading my life? The answer is not only no, but HELL no! If you really, really want to eat healthy, you will. Ask yourself, Do I want this? We will always have stress in our lives, we need to learn to deal with them in a non-food way.

hardest bandster rule to follow for me..
Def not drinking 1 hr after meal. When cruising the forum before banding and no drinking with meals came up, no problem I never drink with a meal. Little did I think that immediately after my meal, I WANT A DRINK!!!

I want ro learn more from you.
One thing you will learn from here is every Dr is different. Different pre op diet ( I had none) and different post op diet (I had full liquids for 30days). Some ppl have 2 wks of liquid pre op diet, some ppl get to eat within their first week of being banded. Some get fills at surgery, some 10 days out, me 6 wks out. That's why you'll read ppl saying "follow your Dr's plan". It will be interesting to see what your Dr has planned for you.

aetna
I have Aetna and it was covered, so it must be the different plans.

I want ro learn more from you.
Welcome to the forum. You have come to a great place to learn, be inspired a get support. I encourage you to learn all you can before being banded , you'll have a greater chance in succeeding. There are also some great books on LBS. As far as telling others, you might want to only tell the ppl who you know will stand behind you and support you. You don't want a bunch of ppl watching you and judging every morsel you put in your mouth. As time goes by and they notice you're losing, then tell them how you're doing it. Thats just my opinion.

OMG
yep, you better follow your Drs instructions. Do you have to do liquids for 24 hrs after your fill? You know you were banded after me and I still have only 3cc in my band.lol Would have been 5cc but ran into some trouble, which will be fixed soon and I can carry on. Good luck with your new fill.
