  1. Welcome Stephanie! Glad to have you with us. I started here 7mths before being banded and it was a great education. Post often so we can get to know you. Congrats on your ins. approval! Best Wishes on your journey!
  2. I don't have Tricare, but my PCP did it the same way as Karen's. Then he attached a letter of necessity. Good Luck!
  3. That's what it sounds like. I thought if you were in child bearing years you had to have an automatic pregnancy test?!
  4. That's my verse to live by,along with All things are possible only believe.
  5. Boy, when you cheat, you cheat a good one.lol Glad you're ok and things worked out.
  6. You really need to call your surgeon ASAP
  7. I would think that as long as the band is in the right place and functioning properly , there would be no reason why not. Your Dr could best guide you in the right direction. Wishing you the best!
  8. Can you fill out your profile, so we all have some idea where you are at in the LB process and what your goals are?
  9. I'm not trying to be funny, but maybe a new Dr. If they are not there to make sure you understand everything, you don't want them. My bariatric center is there to see that I succeed.
  10. Amen sista! Thanks for sharing.
  11. I didn't have a pre op diet, I was already doing that. I just wanted to thank everyone for their honesty.
  12. I guess I did the "wacky just eat better before surgery" diet, lol with a bmi of 47. I had lost 33 lbs by the day of surgery.
  13. I'm glad you're sticking with your allot portions. Keep up the great job your doing. It does take a lot of want power. I hope you have good restriction on your first fill, some ppl do and some don't, it might take a few fills. My Dr does promise me the band will start to help me, when we get the restriction I need. I have 1 fill at 3cc, not there yet, lol. Hang tight, we'll get there!
  14. Woohoo, welcome back! So excited for you. I agree with the others, you'll do great.
  15. This is so nice that you have a weight loss partner. Exercise could be as easy as the both taking a walk together. Once you have your endurance and strength built up, you will want to do something else more challenging. I agree with the other posters about tracking you calories and protein. I also agree not to drink your protein, but eat solid protein. I know Special K & Slim Fast push 2 shakes a day and a healthy dinner, but having a healthy meal 3 times a day is more do able. You should have a nutritionist go over your meal plans and tell you how many calories & protein to shoot for. Best Wishes!
  16. My most deepest sympathy for your loss! This will be hard on your emotions and sorry you have to go through this. I would try to eat as healthy as you can, if you can't do it for yourself at this time, try doing it for your grandma. She would want you to continue on your weight loss journey and become a healthier you. You know she would. Just do the best you can. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  17. Most likely it is your port you're feeling. I haven't talk to anyone that can feel their band. Where the port is, is the biggest incision. Matter of fact, there is no incision over band, even with hernia repair. Try not to worry about first fill, mine went very easy, Dr got it the first stick, no numbing, no big deal.
  18. My first fill went really easy. No numbing one shot and got it. Like everything else on this journey, everyone is different, so newbies waiting for your first fill, try not to worry.
  19. I hope you contact that psych and tell them not to recommend that site anymore, lol
  20. I'm just glad you found your way over to this site!
  21. If you go, let me know.lol I was thinking a bunch of us should go over and cause some trouble.lol
  22. Congratulations! You're doing great!
