  1. I always enjoy the LBT newsletter. Thank you for your continued effort to make us a LB success!
  2. I pushed it with my hub as long as I could.
  3. Well great planning for today. You just repeat everyday now!!!!!
  4. The therapist at my surgeons office was not in my network either and I just picked one that was and they still worked with my surgeon and got me approved. Good Luck!
  5. At my Nut classes, they said men should get 1800 calories a day. Just a thought.
  6. Hey Dude, I was just thinking of you last night and wondering how you were doing. I was thinking that your brother probably doesn't count calories b/c he is in the green zone, you are probably not there yet and it would probably be wise if you did count the calories for awhile. Remember proteins first, that's what keeps you satisfied longer. Glad you've seen the light and realized that ice cream and sliders aren't going to get you where you want to be. That's why it is important to count calories, if you have calories left over and can afford a little something, that's ok. You're def getting more exercise than me.lol If all else fails, see a nutritionist, but go with your food list so they can determine whats going on. Your fill will probably help a lot too. You'll get there. Check in more often, so we don't have to wonder about you. Best of Luck!
  7. So sorry to hear that. I hope staying on liquids helps. Keep us posted on whats going on. I'm only 3mths out and going in for a port revision, b/c of a flip. Really wasn't expecting that so soon. Hoping for the best for you!
  8. I started out using a baby spoon after banding until I got use to taking small bites. No matter what it is I'm eating I chew until it is liquified . Put your fork down between bites and wait one minute. The first week of being banded is hard to get liquid down, b/c of swelling. Just small sips 1oz per 15mins, but after the first week it will get easier and easier. I can now down 16oz of water in less then 30mins.
  9. Yes, that was one of the things that help me. I drank a lot of Chai decaf tea and SF hot chocolate and I found that soothing. That's pretty good that you had Plication too and not taking any pain meds, good for you. I have a friend on here, CarolinaGirl, who had plication too and she is doing very well. She's on a lot during the day, so keep an eye out for her.
  10. Welcome to the forum Leslie and congratulations on your banding. Every day will get better and better. Being you're on day 3 you should be through the worst part. I remember feeling like I was hit by a bus those first few day. Once the swelling goes down, drinking will be easier. What is your post op diet consist of? I had 3 days clear fluid, 30 days full fluids, 1 wk mushies. Those were the longest days as far as eating went, but it is worth it. I wish you the best on your journey. Post often.
  11. I've been banded 3 mths , but no green zone yet. Soon, very soon.lol
  12. I guess it's all about priorities.lol
  13. WTG! Congratulation on your success!
  14. I really should go and get something to eat now, before I eat my Tablet. Between pancakes and an italian sandwich I'm a little hungry. lol
  15. Sorry, can't help you there. Ins Co. didn't require one.
  16. You need to eat your meals, no skipping!!!!! Plan your meals the night before and pack a thermal lunch box. String cheese, tuna, lunch meat, cottage cheese, chicken salad. You just put a freezer pack in with it and it will stay good. Believe me, I have to put up my hubs Breakfast & lunch everyday
  17. IT IS WHAT IT IS!
  18. It's not a food, but it's the only thing I wish I could have every once in awhile, Bacardi & Diet Coke.
  19. The way I look at it is, things could always be worse. As you always say CG, " it is what it is". Smile sunshine, I luv ya!
  20. Jim, My heart breaks for both you & your wife, along with my daughter & son in law. When you descibed getting the news of no success, I understand completely b/c I watch my beautiful daughter & sil go through that same pain. In this case, it is my daughter who is having the problems. She can produce eggs, but they won't stick. They just started their second round of IVF . I'm sure they're terrified and I'm scared b/c I really don't want them to feel that pain again. When they were first married they did get pregnant once on there own and at 6mths their little girls nursery was all finished, but 2 days before Thanksgiving she was delivered dead. So I hope and pray 3 is the magic number. I have a hard time understanding why couples that have everything to give a child can't conceive, while unwed mothers with no support can have baby after baby. I don't get it! My daughters boss after having an argument with her son, came out and told my daughter she should rethink about trying to have a baby. It takes all kinds! All I can say is I am so sorry and I hope and pray God will be good to you and your honey. (((((((((hugs))))))))
  21. Get freezer bags honey.lol I either have it for lunch or dinner the next day or put it in the freezer.
  22. Congratulations!! That will be here real soon. Waiting on the insurance approval is nerve racking. Best wishes
  23. Can't wait to be there!!!!
