I am new to this forum and to forums all together! LBS scheduled for Feb
Welcome to the forum! These ppl telling you this stuff, are they banded? If not they know nothing. I do suggest you stick around here as much as you can to learn everything there is to know about the band. Everyone's pre-op and post-op diets are different, so its hard to compare anything there. Talk to your Dr and find out what they expect. The number one rule here is "follow YOUR Drs orders". Good luck on your journey! post often

How many Calories? Protein? Carbs?
We all get different plans from our Dr. Mine personally is 1000cal & 60 gr of protein. What's your plan?

scared to eat
My Dr says 24 hrs, but I do what I feel comfortable with, like 48hrs and mushies a couple days. Just start out slow and soft and work yourself into it.

Waiting.
I was lucky, one week to the day.

Ok, just a rambling thought.....
I was thinking the same thing this mornig, but not b/c of bears.lol If you have fat on your body and you refuse to feed it, it has to come off. I have lived like a grizzly, sort of, as far as losing 100 lbs and gaining it back. When I was gaining it back, I hibernated, naps & no activity. So we are similar! LOL

115 pounds down!
Msrhonda, you are doing excellent. This isn't gastric bypass where the weight comes off quickly. I'd say 40lbs post op from Dec is damn good. I'm curious how long you stay satisfied after eating a meal? BTW Chicago ladies, I was born in Oak Park back in the 50's and lived in Downers Grove until I was 10 and my parents got wise and moved us to Florida, 80s this week.

bottom of pants drags
Feel better msrhonda! I have a before picture and then take a picture in same clothes every couple months. You can def see the difference. Just cleaned my closet out for the 3rd time after banding.

What did "outsiders" tell you before Lap Band surgery?
Outsiders didn't tell me anything ,b/c I didn't share with anyone who I thought wouldn't support me. Worked out nice! roflmao " you'll shoot your eye out kid"

Where is your Lap Band port?
You can feel your band, but the swelling will have to go down before then. My is on my left just below my ribs. Most the time its the largest incision and the one that stays the most tender, longer. Congratulations MsBandster!

Help After Car Accident!!!
I gained 30lbs after my car accident too, but it was pre band and that was what started the process. I'd look at it as, ok I survived and accident that could have taken my life, but I'm still here and it's time to make myself even healthier. Go back to your band way of eating, see your Dr for a fill if need be. You did this once, you can do it again. Log what you're eating and stick to your plan. You survived and car accident, you can do this too! Glad you're back with us!

Cereal and the Lap Band ?
Cereal is one of those addictive carbs to me, so I stay away from them. Every once in awhile I will pick up a box of GoLean Crunch to eat dry as a snack or put in my yogurt. 1c. 190 cal. 9gr protein , but it does have 13g sugar, which to me is a lot, but I only us 1/4 c for yogurt.

Lapband and that time of the month??
LOL, I don't even know her and I like her. Makes things easier for you, no guessing where you stand.

need some positve or motivating encouragement
I agree with Missy & Floridays, I have not vomited, I eat with others only less and I have no restriction yet, but still losing weight. Some ppl think their band has to be so tight that they do vomit a lot and end up gaining weight from eating high calorie slider foods. Some ppl do not changd their lifestyle. They thought this was a magic WLS, its not. It takes commitment.

Dont wanna eat
Yes, while you're swollen you just don't feel like eating, your appetite will come back. You do really need to stay on top of your fluids. Shoot for 1oz every 15mins. That too will change after awhile. I found sipping warm drinks helped too. Good luck! sip, sip, sip
