  1. Great article! !! I recently was having a hard time and I indulged in a butterfly garden. I can sit out there and be so at peace. Plus the work doing it brought so much satisfaction. It's my magical garden. I hope everyone reads this and can indulge in something that calms them, besides food. Thank you!
  2. Oh honey, I knew the statement "easy way out" might come back to bite you in the butt. Stalk LBT for awhile and find out how "easy" it is.LOL There's a lot to learn on what and what not the band will do. Do your homework and ask any questions. Good luck on your journey!
  3. My nutritionist actually gave me a schedule. 8am 3oz Water 9am 3oz shake 10 3oz water 11 3oz broth 12 3oz shake 1pm 3oz water 2 3oz shake You get the picture Do this til bed. Throw in Jello, popsicles & such anytime
  4. Yes, we sit and wait& wait & wait. The good thing is it gives us more time to get our heads on straight. To learn all we can & practice some of our new habits. Love your name. I have a lot of Desert Roses in my backyard. Good luck you should hear soon. I probably have at least another week ; /
  5. Welcome to LBT Christina!
  6. I would think that if a small place like Sarasota got a store, Miami should be next. Can't believe Gainesville has one on Archer Road. I'm up there all the time to see my mom and she lives right off Archer. Geesh!!!
  7. There are a lot of insurance company's that cover it and a lot that don't. I have Aetna through my husbands company he works for. They just started covering it. Good luck with your journey!
  8. We'll be your support. Also my surgery center provides support group meetings every month. Maybe you can call around and find one in your area. I agree with doing your research and learning all you can about LBS. Good luck
  9. I like that you apologized. Everyone is just trying to help and their idea's were ligit. When you first posted this thread I didn't respond b/c at 3wks your diet didn't sound right either. But everyone has said "every Dr is different". God bless you for being able to eat almonds at 3wks. That's amazing. I'm going to be jealous when I'm eating Cream of Wheat, lol. My Drs orders, pooh!!!! Mis73 & Sojo are well versed on LBS, I'd keep them in your sights. Thanks again for apologizing to them,it takes a big person (no pun intended) to do that. Good luck on your journey! Will be looking for your success story.
  10. I too have e everything into insurance co and waiting, but for the last 6mths I have been doing what NY suggest.Breaking some of the old habits before surgery. Also reading everything I can get my eyeballs on to totally understand what and what not the LB does.
  11. I'm so excited!!!! We just had one open the next town up from me. Can't wait to check it out. People on the Weight Watcher boards use to mail me their Hot Chocolate . Can't wait, can't wait!!!!
  12. Hi Mimi, I haven't been there or done that yet. I just wanted to welcome you to the board and congratulate you for being on the other side, so jealous, no just kidding, very happy for you. Hope to read about your successes. Mis 73 is a wonderful person to follow. Best Wishes!
  13. Here's a list Bariatric Center gave me: Myoplex Lite EAS Chike Isopure Zero-Carb Worldwide Pure Protein drinks &Jello Body Fortress Atkins shakes Slimfast Low Carb Also said product should contain at least 15 gr. protein per 6oz and less than 7 gr. sugar Also follow same guidelines in choosing bars as in power/drink supplements. Many Protein Bars have higher fat content or excessive amounts of sugar added Hope this help!
  14. My Dr described exactly what you have described. He said that was my new feeling of being full. He said being full is no longer like "after a Thanksgiving dinner", that belly full. I'm not a Dr, but that's what he said.
  15. I really don't want roro or rocky to leave LBT.com either!!! We can all learn something here. I wasn't trying to be funny. And yet again, I apologize! !!!!
  16. Yes, be sure to post picture of you in your tux. Please!!!!
  17. PS sometimes ice works better than heat
  18. This is one thing the concerns me about my surgery. I had a car accident that messed my lower back up. That was the deciding factor on WLS. Mis73 is right laying on your back is a killer. Try putting a pillow under your knees. I'm not a Dr but what works for me is stretching. Google- low back pain exercises. I don't know if you can get a cortisone injection, but I do know NO Aleve or aspirin. Good luck!
  19. Congratulations! Thank you for your post, very inspiring! You go girl!!!
