  1. I was denied because my BMI wasn't over 40. I had a sleep study done and found out that I have a mild form of sleep apnea so I filed an appeal and now just have to sit and wait again
  2. Thank you all so much. I was denied because my BMI is not over 40. I had a sleep study done the next day and it showed I have mild sleep apnea. So everything was faxed back to the insurance company and now I just sit and wait again!!!
  3. Just called my insurance company to see what the status of my surgery was and they said declined. To say I am devistated is putting it mildly! Anyone have this happen to them? Not sure what is next but I am praying that I can appeal it and have the surgery!
  4. I totally understand.......majority of my family feels like this is unnecessary and that I need to try harder. I have tried everything and nothing really works for me. I just explain nicely that this is all about and for me. You can message me anytime and we can support each other! Best of luck!!!
  5. Ok thank you......was hoping to have my Lapband in september but I guess not!
  6. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks that my insurance company has been reviewing my file for the surgery and still no word. I am getting more and more nervous that I am going to be declined because it is taking so long. How long did it take you to hear back from insurance company once everything was submitted???
  7. Also try boneless skinless chicken thighs in the crockpot. Use your favorite marinade or sauce and let them cook on low for 8 hours and it is super moist and literally falls apart.
  8. My doctor said that I could have protein shakes after surgery for as long as I wanted too. I don't know if you like eggs but but 1 egg has 7g of protein. Also 1 cup of skim milk has 8 g of protein. You should also get some whey powder......1 scoop mixed with water or any beverage has 25g of protein so you would be more then half way there for the day. Good luck!!
  9. Congrats.......I LOVE LOVE this site. I am learning so much. I have completed everything and it is in review with my insurance company. I am so excited......wish I was having it done tomorrow! Congrats and good luck!!
  10. Thank you so much.....NW Girl congrats on doing so well. I hope I have the same success as you!!!
  11. I am approved by all doctors just waiting to hear from insurance company. I am 5'6" and 215 lbs. I am hoping to lose 80 lbs. just wondering any comments or advise anyone has that has already gone through the surgery.
  12. I have been through the whole screening process and approved by all doctors. My paperwork is with my insurance company and just waiting for approval. I hope to have my surgery within the next 6 weeks. I am looking for advice from anyone who has had lap band on healing, protein, and how to make this successful.
