  1. I have RTD. I like the idea of mixing the powder. I will give that a try!
  2. I was able to come home today. I'm still battling nausea here and there. I have 2 kids and my youngest is still nursing (yes, my surgeon is aware and very supportive). I have been having issues nursing him because he wiggles around so much. He already ran into one of my incision sites and it hurt like holy heck. Aside from a straight jacket, I don't know what else to do in this sensitive time. The pump and I are not good friends. I am also battling changes in taste. My favorite Protein Shake tastes disgusting to me and I'm only 2 days out! Could it be the medication? I'm having problems drinking them every few hours and I'm really dragging my feet. I ordered unjury, but I have to wait for it to get here. I'm currently drinking EAS edge carb control. Any recommendations? Even my favorite juices taste too different for me to enjoy. I can't wait to be past this stage, but I'm struggling now! Any thoughts and recommendations are appreciated.
  3. Don't stress yourself out like I did! I cheated and was so nervous about telling my surgeon. I cheated the DAY before! I was so mad at myself. I was still down 15 lbs from the start of the preop and apparently the liver is rarely a problem. It makes it easier on you and the surgeon if it's small as possible during surgery. My surgeon was very understanding. If you cheat, don't go off the deep end and eat just because you cheated. Once you realize your mistake, get right back on the liquid diet and exercise would be more beneficial than a laxative. Not everyone will admit they cheated. We are all human and no one is perfect! Good luck to everyone!

  5. Don't stress yourself out over it! A few hours after your throat may be sore. Get some Popsicles!! It really helps. Make sure to have time to get rest. The lasting effects of the medicine made me sleepy! My nap was fantastic when I came home after. Lol. Good luck.
  6. My surgery was yesterday, and all things considered I'm doing fantastic! I, unfortunately, had a horrible case of nausea and dizzy spells. 2/4 times they had me get up I fainted. On the bright side my pain level is fantastic! I was so worried I wasn't going to be able to handle it. I was such a wuss after my gall bladder surgery. My nursing staff here have been absolutely amazing. Has anyone else received a pillow from the hospital that allow your visitors and staff to sign while you are here and then take it home?? I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was a great idea! I am also a breast feeding mom and everyone, including my surgeon, have been a great help allowing me to still nurse and making sure I wasn't having any problems. I must say this has been the most pleasant experience I could have imagined and I'm not going to deny it has made me a little emotional. It has also helped coming on here throughout the night seeing that not ye only one that has gone through some of the things I experienced in the past 24 hours and it has helped me a lot. So a big thank you!!
  7. I'm sorry your friend didn't understand. I lost 2 "close" friends of mine over my decision. I have another friend who almost mimicked yours, but she has been my most supportive friend. After having those reactions I didn't post to the world on FB about my decision till 2 days before my surgery. I did not get 1 single non supportive comment. It really made up for my first experience about sharing my decision. I wouldn't let anyone's reaction influence your decision, and that's advice to anyone who is receiving mixed reactions. Congrats to your decision to a healthy, happier new you!
  8. Goo luck to my fellow 14thers! I'm waiting for surgery now. I think the waiting is the hardest part! I can't wait to be on the other side of this.
  9. My surgery is tomorrow as well! I am a bundle of nerves. I'm more stressed now than I was at the end of both my pregnancies! I had to tackle the 10 day preop and I'm so glad I made it through. Good luck in the morning!!
  10. Good luck! I'm 530 am with surgery at 730 on Tuesday. I hope you are getting sleep tonight! I'm not and I still have another day to get through. Lol Congrats!
  11. I really appreciate the reply! I'm on a 10 day preop diet and it has really put it in perspective for me. I know EXACTLY what you mean about the mental hunger. I'm always hungry... Mentally. That's how I got to the weight I am at! That is interesting about the size of your sleeve. It's something to ask before he takes me in the OR. I will take your advice on the artificial sweets. I will start out organic so I don't stay attached to the artificial stuff. Traveling is very difficult when it comes to dining. That is one struggle I'm not looking forward to facing come vacation time!
  12. I live in central Colorado springs. How has post op been for you?
  13. Congrats on your surgery! Hope recovery went well! I will be sleeved aug 14. Coming up quick. What part of Colorado are you in?
  14. I am so glad you asked this! I swear my husband is supporting the surgery in hopes that our sex life increases. When I asked him today what he was thinking about after we left my preop appt, he says "how soon after you come home can we try? It's not like when we had the baby was it?!". I died laughing. So I hope it does because I will have a very devastated hubby moping around all the time other wise.
  15. When I broke the news to my family and close friends I had received mixed reactions. I lost two "close" friends and my family is supportive. My gym buddies stopped going to the gym with me because they didn't want my quick weight loss depressing their efforts. The kicker... My surgery isn't till aug 14th! I decided not to post it on FB. If someone wants to know my weight loss secret, I will tell them. If they don't like the answer, that's their problem. I'm happy and excited about my decision and that's all that matters
