  1. Everone with a successful band can dine out. Some still drink a bit of beer. Not everyone throws up all the time. I have to wonder though if beer is really a reason you aren't going to get the surgery I don't think you really want it in the first place.
  2. Would you want to be invited to that pool party?
  3. Just left LIfe after lap band removal thread. I'm sick to my stomach from some of their stories. I know they are in the monority. I should stay away from there and read all of your stories. I'm two weeks from surgery. It's getting done scary thoughts or not.
  4. If you haven't noticed my other posts I'm getting a little uptight and crabby. Going to the store to get liquid supplies tonight.
  5. It would help to know how much you need to lose. I know my good friend lost 50lbs in 6 first weeks. But she had a lot to lose. I don't expect to loser that fast. Although that would be amazing haha.
  6. I don't blame you. I have felt like I've been in a bubble since this whole process started. I CANNOT wait for it to be over. Not only for the weight to come off but so I can stop thinking about it. My surgery is on the 14th and I cannot wait to start the liquid diet. Sooner it starts sooner it's over.
  7. From all that I've read it's very hard for lapbanders to lose after the first year. I'm determined to get what I need off in a year. Not sure why this is.
  8. I think you need to give it time. You might have inflammation from the fill. Usually they have you go on liquids for a couple days. did your dr. not mention that?
  9. SEPT 14th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could just cry from happiness.
  10. I can't even believe it. This is the date I wanted. 4 more days before liquid diet. I better eat what I want this is the last hurrah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Would the ice cream still be cold after travelling down the esophagus?
  12. Haha Well I hope the surgery isn't in that area. I was just concerned with the hormones and blood clotting factor!
  13. FYI lapband is a type of bariatric surgery. I don't know I heard something about bypass being best for diabetics. Anyone else hear that?
  14. Okay I asked this in a different area. Please let me know why you need plication if you have the band. I'm wondering if I need to look into this. I thought the fullness was felt in the stomach portion above the band?
  15. My sister is going through this process with me. She is wondering if Mirena needs to come out before surgery. I know you have to stop oral contraceptives but do you need to have Mirena taken out? Obviously she will ask her Dr. Just wondering ahead of time what you guys think!
  16. I guess I'm not understanding why you would need plication if you are supposed to feel full from the top of the stomach (pouch) Not from the bottom of the stomach. Please advise.
  17. Believe it or not I got neck pain from Gerd back in the day.
  18. I don't think I've actually ever swallowed anything by accident lol hmmmm
  19. Thanks! I thought I would be approved but you know how you just never know. I've been eating so much just thinking it wouldn't happen. Time to get on track now. I know that makes no sense.
  20. Well when I look in the mirror I see someont thinner then I am. Pictures tell me the opposite. So I can't wait until I look good in pictures!
  21. Lapbandster you are too funny. If that isn't incentive not to have beer I don't know what is! I start liquid diet soon best have my fill of it before hand. I will miss that alot more then overeating, soda etc... While I don't drink it often I sure love it.
  22. I had implants before I gained my last 50 lbs. So they will still be there when the fat melts away. Hoping I don't need a lift!
  23. Hey we are in the same boat! I think my surgery will be mid sept! If you want to be liquid diet buddies I would love that!
  24. Yes i know I need to ask my dr. I just got approved today! I'm wondering if port location is different based on starting size? I really don't want mine under my boob like some of you have. Any info will help.
