  1. Well the days of post surgical insomnia are gone (first two weeks I couldn'f sleep). Now it seems like I could sleep all day. I have no energy at all. I go to bed at 10-11, and unless someone wakes me up, I will sleep 12-4 hrs, totally knocked out, no sleeping aides needed. I will be 4 weeks out Monday, and I return to work that day as well. I am following all the diet requirements. Is it normal to be this exhausted?
  2. First, thank you for sharing and your trust on us. I am so sorry to hear this. I am divorced. It took me a long time to walk away from my husband. Exactly 5 years. We were married for 10 years. Back then our kids were 7 and 4 years old. Although there was no infidelity involved, realizing that you are with someone that is looking after himself and not for you and your children is heartbreaking. I talked to him, we went to counseling, he didn't change. While I was still with him, I did mourned the idea that we would not be a 'traditional' family. I was done with him, but didn't want to hurt my kids. I was so afraid. I took my time, looked at other couples stories, meditated.IFinally, when I was ready, and not sooner than that, I walked away. There was a moment that did it for me. I KNEW that walking away was the best for my kids and I. At the end, it all worked out. Especially with the kids, who no longer have an angry mommy and don't have to endure a tense environment. I actually now get along with my ex, and he is a better father now than he was when we were together. Probably because he is happier and at peace too. My point is, take your time. As much time as you need. If you stay, I am sure is because you see something that makes you think it will work out. Only you know. If you walk, make sure you do so with conviction, for you. Either way, both steps require a whole lot of courage. Show your daughter that you are a fighter. The fact that you had the courage to have this surgery shows that you are. Hugs and support.
  3. Thank you everyone for the encouragement. It helps A LOT. I am walking 30 min a day.
  4. So frustrating. I am eating 60 gr protein, no carbs, under 600 cal. I lost a lb day the first week, then it stopped. I don't get it. I've complained about this before, so I do apologize in advance. It just seems so slow. Just feels like my body is so "mean" to me. Yes, I am down.
  5. So as my menu expands, I've noticed that is harder to get the protein in. Today I had ham w low fat fetta cheese on an ultrathin half of a small pita. Since I need to chew until is completely pureed, I was a quarter through and I wasn't enjoying it anymore. I was 'tired' and eating the whole thing seemed daunting. I got rid of it and made myself the equivalent of protein grams w a shake. It was much better. Same thing happened yesterday w/ a quarter cup of mini shrimp and avocado. The food sits well in my tummy. It just seems like so much work to eat anything other than yogurt, protein shakes, cottage cheese, and lentils. I am 3 weeks out. Has this happened to anyone?
  6. Yes, same here at 2 1/2 weeks out. Insomnia is very common after surgery. You can search the forums here. During my first post op visit, my dr said to try over the counter melatonin or Tynelol PM. If that didn't worked, then he was going to prescribe me something. The second week, half of cup of Nyquil would knock me out. I havent tried my Dr's recommendations, as I haven't been able to buy them. As soon as I do, I'll keep you posted. But the good news is that the veterans here say that it will pass too. Congrats on your sleeve.
  7. I've never had one, but wondering if is worth getting. I am thinking it mightbe useful for tomato "chips". Should I just forget about it? Thoughts?
  8. Me too!!! I had surgery a day before you, and I have been stucked for 6 days at 244. How is that? I am eating 600 cal a day, my body requires a lot more than that to sustain 244. There is a huge calorie deficit, and I only eat protein. I thought it was simple math. Why?!!!!!!
  9. Obviously I have continued to think about this one. Being able to be carried with no effort by my boyfriend would be nice.
  10. My paperwork that I took home said I could have flat diet drinks RiGHT AWAY. I haven't been interested, but see no harm.
  11. I am 19 days out. Woke up today, feeling tired and sad...for no reason. I've cried a few times today for small things. But like SOBBING. What is going on? I am not like that. I don't miss food. Hormones going crazy??!!
  12. Same here. Haven't walked much. I got dizzy the first couple of times . I feel tired too. Again, I am just listening to my body. There is time to heal, time for exercising.
  13. Well i was sleeved July 9th. I was immediately cleared for yogurt and lentils. I saw the doc late last week and he pretty much cleared me for "anything" as long is well chewed. Despite the "freedom", somehow, I am not interested in more food choices other than yogurt, lentil/bean soup, protein shakes, cottage cheese, hummus, and eggs. I'm mainly listening to my body. When its ready, I am sure I'll expand my menu.
  14. Oh, as for fantasy goal weight, 130 lbs would be nice. I am 5'4" , SW 262, CW 242. I was sleeved 2 weeks ago.
  15. I just want to be comfortable in my own skin. Feel that extra weight doesn't get in the way of anything. Feel beautiful, at my potential. That I am not thinking: If only____, ______ would happen. As for my boyfriend, I want him to be happy and trust me, but never totally relaxed and careless. I want him to always have his game on to please me, keep me.
  16. And by the way, when I got sleeved I told my doctor that coffee was the ONLY thing I couldn't live without. Go figure.
  17. My Dr. said I could have coffee inmediately after surgery. Before sleeved, I'd had 2-4 cups a day. Funny thing is, at two weeks out, I am still waiting "to want it". Somehow, it hasn't been appetizing to me yet. I miss the ritual, and I'm sure at some point it will come back.
  18. You will have a million questions after. We'll be here!!!
  19. So after 2 weeks out, I decided to clean out my closet. An activity that took me 3 hrs. No heavy lifting. When I was done, the area around my biggest incision started to hurt. Like when at beginning. Feels so tight and tender. The pain has continued a day after. My PA had worned me that when people become more active, the muscles under start hurting. Its REALLY tender. I have my 2 week pre op appt Wednesday. Should I call before then, wait? Should I be concerned? Any one experienced the same?
  20. So I was doing fine, but my weight loss has stopped for 3 days now. Any ideas on why so soon? I am taking in around 500 calories and 50 gr of protein. Most of that from protein shakes. Any thoughts?
  21. Congratulations!!! Good job!!!!
  22. I had the same experience at 5 days out. Sore throat, chest congestion, slight temperature. I called the doctor. He checked my lungs. They were clear. Had me do some blood work to check for any infections. Fine. He said it was gas resulting from anesthesia. Body responding to the surgery. I took Nyquil for a couple of nights and then I was fine.
  23. What was your starting weight? I was sleeved a day after you. I started at 258 and now I am 244. I've lost 14 lbs in two weeks. I think you are doing fantastic.
  24. I have the pain exactly where you say. I have an incision there too that is so tight, that looks almost as a second belly button. I was told that was the incision where they took out the removed part of my stomach. I take Tynelol when it hurts. My Dr.'s assistant says it will go away with time.
