  1. Great article and thank you for sharing with us.
  2. I guess lots of people here never received all this information from their doctor's office before surgery. I actually have a Allergan Omiform 14cc proto-type lapband here at home. My sister works for Allergan and i was able to read clinical studies on the band and what it truly does. Thanks for the insight.
  3. Since we know our bodies better than some doctor's, WE are the only ones that can judge what we need and how we eat. Opinions and lot's of free advice always is around us to try and use, but WE will make the decision and choices that WE feel are the correct ones. Most of us already know that Protein first, then the rest. WE just have to retrain our brains and DO IT! PS. Jim1967 you're doing GREAT! Best wishes

Your head always tells your stomach YOU are hungry.
  5. My first fill was highly over rated with fear and scary thoughts. It was painless and didn't appear to work. Remember, several fills maybe will give you the filled sensastion you need. I think I'm findly feeling some restriction on my 3rd fill. The build up of fliuid in the band allows the restriction to "assist" you. YOU still have to do the work and eat proper choices of food types. I tend to pick a day or two during the week that all I eat is 2 protein shakes for the first 2 meals and a big bowl of soup for dinner. It seems to work for me. Best wishes and keep the Faith.

  7. Congratulations on your weight loss. If you're like me, I do appreciate any weight loss as compared to the past diets. I do 2 protein shakes, breakfast and lunch, then a simple dinner salad with chicken or a soup with chicken for the other protein. Its been slow lately and like you stated 2 major eating holidays didn't help. Now for me to get back on course. Best wishes and Happy New Year 2013.
  8. Congratulations on such positive control. I did this during Thanksgiving time this year. Merry Christmas
  9. Probably happens all the time behind our backs. Guess it's Sticks n Stones.
  10. Congratulations
  11. toast? wow you are lucky. My surgeon stated NO breads of any sort.
  12. Be positive and Keep the Faith. YOU can do It! We are all here in this forum to help each other and grow from band/bypass surgery. Get your questions ready? Best wishes
  13. The band can be your friend. YOU still have to do all the work and say NO. Best wishes
  14. oops, I didn't see your recent band date. I thought you had the band a longer time. You are healing!
  15. coffee restrictions for me are NO caffeine at all. My doctor doesn't believe in any caffeine or carbonated drinks of any kind, decaf or not.
  16. For a day or two, try increasing food intake to 1200-1300 calories. Sometimes our body needs additional calories to start up again.
