First Christmas maintaining....

FLORIDAYS

I Cooked a fab dinner for my Inlaws, hubby, one of our daughters and the light of my life her 18 month old daughter. Even though I am less than week post op from the tt and bj surgery I started early and rested in-between chores. Polishing the silver was more strenuous than I expected but I didn't push it and was fine. I did have someone clean this week so didn't have to worry about that... But the shopping and cooking was all me. We had rib eye steak w bernaise sauce, sauteed caramelized onions and mushrooms, twice baked potatoes, Lima beans, green beans, carrots, my speciality spinach salad, rolls and apple pie, vanilla pudding pie laced with chocolate and homemade cookies.

Since I am maintaining and healing from surgery I decided I would really enjoy a few more bites then normal since I cooked all my favs...well except the Lima beans...bleckkkkk. So the eating commenced and I ate about 2 oz of meat, a teaspoon of the mushrooms and onions, a few green beans, 1 carrot, and about a 1/4 c of salad. I also had about 1/4 of the potato and one cookie.... I was amazed... I seriously couldnt eat any more...

I love my band. I will never gain the weight back... Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night....

Merry Christmas to all of you lapbanders!! I have just begun the process of scheduling surgery for myself. I am 63 years old and am 75 pounds overweight and have been on every program imaginable. "The definition of insanity--right? This sounds like a life savor to me. My questions are many--Ill start with this. Are you less hungry ? Is there pain involved when you overeat? Just some details of how you feel right after surgery and then post surgery ..Also should I pop the 40 dollars for the book or will I be given all these details/

My mouth is watering reading that. Sounds delicious. What's for dinner today? I could be there by 6pm..... just saying. lol

Enjoy your holiday, you are a true role model for us all.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Thanks AJ... Not cooking anymore today...did brunch this morning and since we did last night for family later this afternoon we are headed to close friends for their dinner... They usually have a small group of 40. We go every year. LOL I am bringing desserts this year since I wasn't sure what I would be up for... And Publix baked the cheesecakes and a local bakery does awesome goodies so I cheated and bought my offering. Yesterday and this morning took a lot out of me so I have been banished to the couch while MIL and daughters clean up and hubby and his Dad watch the baby. Of course she is napping to they lucked out. LOL. I keep forgetting I am just a week out of surgery...and have a 15" scar across my hips....

Welcome deb... You may want to start a thread in the forum so you can get lots of answers to your questions, I didn't buy the book so don't know much about it. My dr gave me all the info and I read this forum a lot and took some helpful hints.

Great job! This was my first holiday season at goal also. I must admit I was a little nervious with all the cooking and baking but it was really ok. I also love my band. I had a wonderful meal both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and didn't over eat. I love my band and the control it gives me! Happy New Year, cheers to all of us who are making this life style change work!cheer-add-pink.jpg
