  1. Banded July 5th & just had my first fill today. It dudnt hurt but it was weird feeling. The initial stick was numbing agent & it stung a bit, but not bad. The injecting of saline was an odd sensation. It's like I could feel the cold saline running up the tube. Idk but it was a very uncomfortable feeling for just a second until he pulled back on the amount of saline. It was super squeezing my stomach & it just felt odd. Then I stood up to drink water & the needle in the port kind of stung. In the end, I got 3 cc's which he said is pretty standard for my band. Now I won't be so nervous because I know what to expect! I was ready for it bc I have been so hungry. Now, liquids for next 48 hours. Good luck with your fill!!!
  2. I was banded July 5th & have done well, but by 4th week I became really hungry. My first fill is another 2 weeks out, so trying low carb to see if it will help with cravings. My surgeon recommends 850 calories with 60 minimum protein. Thinking I can focus on low carb until I get fill.
  3. Just got banded July 5th & am a teacher & getting stuck is a fear of mine- that it will happen while teaching...yikes:-(

  5. I had c-section 20 years ago & 15 years ago, had gall bladder removed & had breast reduction. Just got lap band July 5th & I think the band was the easiest of all. I felt almost back to normal at 2 weeks post op! Good Luck!
  6. My doctor prescribes 4 doses of Milk of Magnesia 24 hrs after surgery ( 4 doses spread out) & I had no initial gas pain or pressure that many describe. However, 3 weeks out, I just have gas, but not painful!
  7. Non scaled victory...got it! Thanks :-)
  8. I am still new, please tell me what NVB or whatever is an acronym for!!
  9. That is amazing! I was banded July 5th & am down about 17 lbs!
  10. Our summer break is quickly passing & I am not ready to go back either.
  11. Banded july 5th. Just started using my fitness pal & like it a lot! Username is agerpayark if anyone wants to "friend" me!
  12. Milk of magnesia helped me with gas pain right after surgery! Day 9 for me now & I am using gas x strips.
  13. I was banbed July 5th & have been a middle school teacher for 5 years ( a mid-life career change). I have gained weight since teaching. I wondered the stress level if law enforcement compares to that of teaching ? I have lost about 14lbs btw!!!

  16. Day 8 & feeling better! Wish me luck as I am headed to the beach for a week's vacation. Will he on liquid for another 6 days! This time next year, I will really be ready for the beach!!! I keep reminding myself of the end result...100 lbs off & energy & vitality:-)
  17. Banded July 5th. Don't think I am even getting in 600-800 cal. Per day because I feel so bloated after I drink my liquid meal. Is this how it will feel forever...just uncomfortable, bloated & gassy? Kind of like after a huge Thanksgiving dinner where all I want to do is get out of binding clothes & just belch:-(
  18. I was banded July 5th & used milk of magnesia the 1st 48 hours & it helped with gas pain. It's getting better now ( day 7) so really I've had gas but not much gas pain! Went for a message today & was even able to lay on my stomach! On the road to healing :-)
