Will My "gut" Ever Feel Normal?

Recommended Posts

Banded July 5th. Don't think I am even getting in 600-800 cal. Per day because I feel so bloated after I drink my liquid meal. Is this how it will feel forever...just uncomfortable, bloated & gassy? Kind of like after a huge Thanksgiving dinner where all I want to do is get out of binding clothes & just belch:-(

Don't worry. The bloated feeling goes away in about 3 weeks or so. But definitely check with your doctor if you don't feel right. I'm 30 days out and I'm just now beginning to feel 100% again. I had a hiatal hernia repair done at the same time and I still can't burp right. But GasX works wonders. Make sure you are getting enough Fiber and drinking enough Water or else the Constipation is terrible. Or it is for me anyway. But I don't have the world's fastest digestive system in the 1st place. Good luck!!!

Ugh... I am super super gassy and bloated right now too. Every time I drink a beverage I just want to get it to work it's way out!! Otherwise I feel great. I don't remember the gassy belly from last time. And this is not the gas from surgery... that went away already.

It is pretty noraml to feel bloarted you are swollen on the inside . No one who just had weight loss surgery will starve on 600 cals a day so don't worry just follow the plan and drink your Proteins as best you can as you heal you will be able to get more down . It takes time hang in there..

Im at a similar stage. I feel bloated and sore but thank god that post surgery gas has gone. That pain was evil. I had a hiatal hernia repair too and I can't burp at all. I'm a bit sad about that. In my more childish moments a decent belch is not only satisfying but hilarious.

I KNOW!!!! now the only way I burp is really slowly and quietly.... but it can go on for several seconds. I think I'm going to start trying to say the alphabet!!! :-p hehehe

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
