  2. Hi all! Im from Victoria BC and will be getting sleeved by Dr. Malik here at the Royal Jubilee. How did everyone's sleeve experience go?
  3. I know, but drastic times call for drastic measures.
  4. Today is September 2 and one month today (October 2) I will be admitted to hospital to have my vertical sleeve gastrectomy I just pray to god that I can get 15lbs of weight of by then! I'm on a 4 week diet of protein shakes, water and low sodium chicken broth. Happy sleeving everyone !
  5. Yes! As a nurse there is always lifting involved. My surgeon told me not to lift anything heavier than a milk jug. I am pre op, surgery set for October 2 but will he taking of 6 weeks from work
  6. Hi!! Have u weighed urself yet?
  7. I too am a nurse and my doctor is the one who suggested 6 weeks off. It will be a nice break and Amanda is right...our bodies need time to adjust.
  8. Everyone has their cravings..but it's mind over matter, I know it's easier said than done. I succumbed to my craving (pizza) tonight even though I've lose 9lbs this week on protein shakes and lean protein dinner. I feel awful. And to be honest and a week of eating so well the pizza tasted like sh**. If u don't mind me askin, how much have u lost in 3 weeks? I start a 4 week liquid diet sept 1:)
  9. Similar thing happened to me the other day. I was in an east Indian fabric store trying to buy fabric to match my Indian saree and asked the lady at the counter how much fabric I would need. Instea of giving me a straight answer she said "normally 1 yard but for a person ur size 2 yards will be needed". I lied and told her it was for someone else and 1 yard will do..even though it's for me and I dont plan on having It made until I reach goal (or am close). Wouldn't a person with brains just say 2 yards and If I bought extra fabric then who cares!? She's making more money!!
  10. They usually don't need to stick u back up..usually a nice thick bandage will do
  11. You think having it is bad!? Try being the nurse who has to remove It..u have no idea how long that tube is that's inside u. I removed my first JP drain in school and I was amazed how long it was :-/ hope u feel better!
  12. I bought this really cute dress in a size 10 last week. Been eyeing it since it came to that store but a). Didn't feel the desire to spend $120 on it and . Didn't want to buy my current size (18-20..I'm pre op) if I wasn't going to stay this size longer. Well summer is almost over and they put this dress on clearance for$20!! They only has size 18 and size 10 left..so I scooped up the 10 I have been buying more clothes in mediums and large instead of 2xl. Also gives me motivation to fit it them :-)
  13. Hey sleeve sister!! Oct 2 is the same date as mine :-)
