  1. They do come but everyone is different. I remember my nurse telling us that some will in a day or two and some it will take a week. The anesthesia alone slows everything down plus we are not eating solids so its slowwww
  2. Welcome home!!! I gained weight from all the fluids and surgery gas etc etc. It drops off easy.
  3. Is your pain any better? Did you determine what it was? Hopefully you are feeling better
  4. Yes thinned applesauce but just enough to get your meds down for now. Your in my thoughts, stay strong!
  5. I'm 6 weeks out and my NUT said I was cleared for all foods. I have to say I feel horrible today. My stomach just feels sick and sour feeling... I got worried and started reading my notebook from Dr. And it says no raw veggies or beef til 3 months. -__- I had meat (pepperoni slices) and small baby carrots yesterday. I'm worried.
  6. What about protein shakes on those days? Or a meal replacement drink? I would think liquids would be okay for a day. Your sleeve may need a rest. Just don't go without nutrition for more than a day. Then again that's just my opinion, probably best to ask your nutritionist or doctor. I have the opposite problem, I seem to have a strange empty feeling in my stomache even after eating. If I had to describe it, it feels like hunger. I'm 6 weeks out, hoping as time passes things will get better.
  7. Maybe an ovarian cyst? I hope you start to feel better but until then call your doctor to make sure your ok.
  8. I was at Forest Park on the 15th... My night nurse ignored my complaints about my iv hurting and swelling. My tech came in at the same time that my nurse was in and she immediately said my iv was infiltrated. I never even had to mention it to the tech, she just saw it. When she left the nurse tried discouraging me to take my iv out and put in a new one. Luckily my oldest daughter was with me and was insistent that it be changed. My ARM was black and blue, swollen and knotted for three weeks or more. I'm so sorry your going through this ... I'm keeping you in my prayers!
  9. You look amazing! You are an inspiration!!! Im so happy for you! Way to go!!!!
  10. Oh. I absolutely love popcorn, I must make myself stay away from it. It's so weird that some foods just slide thru, do they cause intestinal problems? I was self pay so I didn't do any nutrition classes before hand. Sorry if I'm asking a silly question. Thank you for yalls help!!
  11. There is a medicine you can gargle with called " chlorhexidine gluconate" a dentist or ortho. Can prescribe it for you but check if its safe to use with the sleeve. My dad had cancer treatment and had bad mouth ulcers from lack of vitamins. It really helped him. I hope it can help you too. Do check with your surgeon first tho..
  12. I'm sorry youre hurting I did have some back and hip pains and a general weakness in my muscles but yours almost sounds like the flu? I sure hope you start feeling better but please call your drs office and let them know how you feel, its important to keep them updated so they can help you. Keeping u in my thoughts!
  13. Thanks you guys Definitely going to start enjoying it I'm looking forward to the day I get a wink Hehe!
  14. My NUT said to not worry about drinking up to the time we eat but to just not drink 30 minutes after. Now I'm not sure what to do, any advice?
  15. Thank you, I'm going to read the link you posted. Thank you for a very helpful and informative response. It is sad isn't it? But it seems it is true and very much a part of our society. Thank you both for your responses!
  16. I'm currently 45 lbs down from my original weight before starting my pre op diet. I lost 20 pre op and have lost 25 post op. I don't seem to notice any huge change in my body, I have gone down a size in clothes. My thing is, is it just my imagination or are people noticing me and exchanging pleasantries with me now because of just 45 lbs lost? I told my daughter that people actually seem nicer and or actually acknowledge me now. She laughed and thought Im silly. But it seems like it to me. Now I'm not sure to be offended by the nice people or glad. Is it just me? Any one else get this feeling? How should we feel?
  17. Ok thank you. Yes, I can see how these could really be detrimental to our success. Thanks for the information
  18. I'm just about 6 weeks post op and I LOVE the people on this site! My question is, I keep hearing people use the term sliders. What is this? I'm just curious to know from what I know so far its foods we should avoid but what does it mean if a food is a *sliders*
  19. I agree! I see change all over! You look happier too definitely! Great job woohooo!! Looking good
  20. Oh me too! And hopefully soon
  21. I do need to get my walking up. I'm going to definitely do as you suggest! Thank you for your response, I was worried it was only me
  22. My stomache has a very empty feeling at night, it feels like I'm hungry but its there even after I have a snack. It's really a yuck feeling to try and fall asleep with, anyone have insight to what it may be? I do take dexilant in the morning for acid stomache. Any ideas?
  23. I was sleeved at Forest Park on May 15th, those are the exact soups I did... I liked them and didn't have any problems
