  1. I don't see why you can't have them...veggies barely have any calories, no fat, no sugar. But they were very specific to those vegetables only. On my last week, I can't have the veggies. I think it's just for variety because I have to go 3 weeks. Keep me posted on how you're doing!
  2. Thanks Texarkolina! First day has been good so far, don't feel bad at all or even been hungry...but I do think it may become of challenge becuase of variety....but my dr. also said I can have veggies - carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers.... I'm off to the store!
  3. I started today too! I was actually kinda surprised at the taste, I was expecting a lot worse!...but I can see it's going to be a bit of a challange...I'm set for August 2nd so I've 3 weeks of shakes and bars....I'm also allowed some vegetables - bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots....that should add some variety and something crunchy Best of luck!
  4. Glad to hear you're doing so well!! Gives me hope!
  5. I start a 3 week shake/bar pre-op tomorrow..part of me wishes I had the dr. That didn't require it, but I'm also looking forward to not gaining 1 more pound. I've done enough damage to myself with food ....I'm looking forward to dropping a few lbs. Before surgery...I feel like it's going to have me headed in the right direction. (don't judge me when I complain in the next few days or weeks about it,) Ha-ha! Wish me luck!!! I also read this: The importance of Protein cannot be overstated. A diet with adequate protein ensures that you lose fat, especially abdominal fat which can interfere with surgery, and maintain lean muscle mass even while reducing your caloric intake. A balanced and nutritionally rich high protein diet ensures that your body will have everything it needs to recover well from bariatric surgery. The high protein liver shrink diet also helps you acclimate yourself to the higher protein, reduced calorie, reduced carbohydrate diet you will have to follow after surgery.
  6. Honey, with all certainty, and speaking from similar experience....He's telling you, without words, exactly who he is!...listen to that truth . Hope that wasn't too harsh! You are so much better and stronger...focus on you! You are gonna be an even hotter mama than you already are...keep focused.
  7. That is awesome!
  8. I'm having dinner with family and friends for 1 last "hoo-rah" where I can eat and drink "normally" ....I do have these feelings that I need to make sure that I have my favorite Mexican, Chinese, etc. But when I think about it, I think....I've tasted it all, it's just food and at this point I'm tired of treating myself like a human garbage disposal. Looking forward to loving myself into healthiness and skinniness!!!
  9. Good luck....sending prayers and good thoughts your way!!! You will do great!
  10. So I have a silly question...while walking uphill will tire me out quicker...will it cause pain?...I'm afraid to exert myself too much immediately following surgery. I live at the top of a hill...I'm thinking I'll have to drive to get to flat area...or join gym for treadmill. While I'm on the topic of driving...how long before I can drive?...right away?
  11. I've heard that it can happen when you eat "too much" protein....too much with the sleeve is hard to define ....I'm guessing it's just your body going through changes/balances....
  12. I couldn't agree more with SML1997!!! I'm a girl that LOVES going to sporting events, football, basketball and I want to buy season tickets..or at least go to a few games.. but never do cause I know I will be uncomfortable! I'm looking forward to just start living again...i feel like I've become almost anti-social and just dont get out and do as much anymore...I'm down right embarrassed of how I look. I used to be an athlete!!!...wouldn't know it by looking at me now, but that's who I still am inside and I can't wait for those two to match again! I also LOVE music and can't wait to go to a concert again or my fav - Jazz Festival...they have those tiny little folding seats...which I now avoid at all cost :/. Oh and the beach is a big one...considering I see it from my backyard but NEVER go anymore..I sit out and just dream of throwing on a pair of shorts and riding down, meeting friends and riding my bike back up the hill to home, ....it will happen!!! I'm looking forward to being ME again! .
  13. When I posted this I didn't think about people being on the pre-op liquid diet :/ (duh!)...I'm sure it's a tough day but bittersweet! Slenderella I'm 30 days out too!...Good luck to everyone!
  14. Bandidalinda: HOW EXCITING! Good luck!!!
  15. That is so cool!...congrats! I can't wait til I can say that too! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!
  16. I'm giddy today knowing this will be my last 4th of July ever at this weight!!!!..anybody else?
  17. My Dr. Wanted to do one because I have bad acid reflux....Dr. Found I have hernia, 3 ulcers and erosion in esophagus!...much more than I ever thought was going on!!! But the procedure was super quick (the wait time was 2 hours) and easy...they put you under amd then you wake up...no pain or anything after simple procedure.
  18. Has anyone used a bed wedge after surgery?...I'm thinking it will help with the pain getting in and out of bed when I first get home....I'm considering this one...http://www.contourliving.com/p-19-mattress-genie-adjustable-bed-wedge.aspx
  19. I dream about that day! CONGRATS!!!!!!!
  20. TJmom and all....I LOVE THIS SITE and all it's support! I have a suggestion to look into Cognative Behavior Therapy (CBT)...it has helped me get this point of knowing that after surgery I have 1 more tool to use that I have learned through this....it's about changing your thinking, behavior, and emotional responses to your thinking....afterall, I think we can all agree, the stuggle with our weight is 99.9% in our heads...at least the last 25 year has been for me. it doesn't have anything to do with food, food is just the "drug" I choose to deal with those feelings and emotions...hope this helps! Trust in yourself and KNOW that you are worth it! ...we all know you are!!!!
  21. Does anyone know how to delete 1 of them??? For some reason I have 2 weight tickers.....maybe just go in and delete both and start over?...
