Period During Surgery?
I was right smack in the middle of my cycle for my surgery. I was however allowed a tampon for surgery. I didn't have any problems, but like the others have said, just check with your surgeon. Good Luck

Fruit???
I had fresh blueberries and raspberries in my cottage this morning for breakfast.

How Long
I am only 11 days out and I have twinges in my port area, but I have been gradually catching a few "zzzzzzz's" while sleeping on my side. I am not a back sleeper so I had to figure something out. As far as sex goes, my doc says 2 weeks.

Caffeine
I am not allowed caffiene until a month out. So I'm COUNTING the days until then. 19 to be exact! I am soooooooooooooo needing my coffee

Time Off?
I have been back at work 2 days now. My surgery was 6/19. I have had no trouble whatsoever. I am an Administrative Assistant so I really don't have an intensive job...it gets hectic, but nothing too strenuous. Now...would I like to be home with my hubby? You betcha!

Anyone In The First Week Of Recovery? How's It Going?
Patch, what kind of Greek yogurt are you eating? I bought the Chobani because it was the highest in protein, but it is not my favorite.

Anyone In The First Week Of Recovery? How's It Going?
I have to say, I was banded June 19th and I didn't really have bad gas pains....of course I walked like a maniac. Only took pain meds for 3 days and on Friday, went to the movies with my neice. I can feel where my port is, but it's not painful. My incisions are itchy. My biggest problem is I am not getting all my Protein. I have tried and tried. I can't get through a shake, I add cottage cheese to all my Soups...but I get full before I get it all in. I will get it figured out, and I have some extra protein Clear liquids left from the first 2 days, so I am sipping that throughout the day. I do miss chewing, but this too shall pass. I have to make adjustments to my life if this is going to work, and that is just one of the things that must be adjusted. It's not a permanent thing. On day 15 I get to transition to soft foods (mushies). I'm so excited. I never, ever thought I'd be excited about tuna! LOL I am back at work today (on light duty for 3 more weeks). Hang in there Mom....it will get better.

Nutritionist
I love cauliflower mashies! I'm excited to eat them when I get to my Mushies stage. I met with my nutritionist on Monday as part of my pre-op visit. She's AWESOME! We went through all the phases of my eating/recovery, and food sizes and all of that. She is always available to me via email (weekends and holidays) and then I can call if I really need her. I will see her on Tuesday when I go in for surgery on Tuesday. Good Luck on your journey.

Tried A Belly Dance Class Today
I'm excited to try this. One of my co-workers has been trying to get me to go to her classes with her, but I have been reluctant, but told her I would. The next classes begin in August, since I will be 2 months post surgery, I am going to try it! Good Luck!

Now I'm Scared!
I hope that you ladies can conquer the nerves. Honestly, I am so excited for Tuesday (Renaissance Day) I am not nervous at all. (Please don't think I'm bragging) I just want you to feel great about this decision. You have made a great choice for your life. It may have it's ups and downs, but you have made a choice to do something about your weight and that is a great start. I wil send you ladies good vibes to conquer the nerves.

What Are You Looking Forward To?
I'm not opposed to the training, but I can't be slow. Disney has a strict 16 minute mile pace requirement for all races and I can't do that yet. I'm not paying to race and getting swept. Congrats on the Tri! That's amazing!

What Are You Looking Forward To?
I'm in on this one as well! My "BIG" goal is to run in a Disney Half Marathon (I'm hoping for The Princess Half in February--but that may be too soon)

Looking To Form A "late June Bansters" Support Team. Want To Join?
I had my pre-op appointment at the hospital, did all the pre-admit paperwork and met with the nutritionist. I am getting so excited for a week from today! I only have 1 day of pre-op diet to follow. I'm doing my own little self imposed pre-op diet. Good luck to those being banded this week! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

When Did Everyone Stop Taking Vitamins?
I haven't been banded yet, but at my consultation with my surgeon yesterday he said vitamins for the rest of my life. I went today and bought adult gummy multivitamins, gummy Calcium 500mg 2x a day and sublingual B-12. I also bought Biotin.

I wanna play! I'm June 19th. I'm starting my own, self-prescribed pre-op diet on Monday after my pre-op appt at the hospital, My surgeon only requires a day before clear liquid diet, but after listening to everyone here, I am going to do a couple of Protein shakes and a very small meal. I'm very excited. I have told a few friends (very few, like 5), my family of course (who are EXTREMELY happy for me), my boss, and a few co-workers. My husband's family will NOT be told. At least not until I have to. They will not be supportive at all, they would be the ones watching me like a hawk and judging me. I'm excited to begin my Renaissance.
