Hey guys I'm on my 4 week since I was band and I feel good but only thing is I still feel weak and when I sit up like driving my port area gets really sore. I'm just wondering how long does the port area stop from being sore. I'm still affride to sleep on that side or my stomach. How long do we have to wait before we can again.

This is TMI but how long do have to wait before we can have sexual intercourse again to? I don't want my port to flip or anything like that.

Thanks

I think healing time for everyone is a bit different. I had the twitches and pinches when I tried to move for a bit on my port area.

As far as sex I was told when you felt better... I also talked to my surgeon and was worried if sex woud damage, displace, break the port/disconnect etc... He said that it is fine and not to worry about damage to the band/port with sex.

As he giggled he said KNOCK yourself out..

I am only 11 days out and I have twinges in my port area, but I have been gradually catching a few "zzzzzzz's" while sleeping on my side. I am not a back sleeper so I had to figure something out.

As far as sex goes, my doc says 2 weeks.

I'm a right sided sleeper, and my surgeon only puts them on the right side, so I've slept on mine since day 1. Mine is on the right side about an inch below my ribs. I would wake up sore for the first week or so. I'm 5 1/2 weeks out, and am doing full abdominal exercises with no pain. My port does stick out though...once I get closer to goal I might check into a port revision (I've heard they have a lower profile one?) because I'm still about 50 lbs from goal and I can see the port now. I'm the only one that notices it though :)

Mine is on the right and I'm a side sleeper. Ive been using a pillow to support my abdomen on that side when I sleep.

As far as sex goes, they told me when I was comfortable. Apparently that was two days ago. Nothing crazy ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
