  1. That is both hilarious and awesome all at once!!! Congrats on your success!
  2. Day 2 of liquids: doing much better today so far. Been adding flavor extracts and SF Chocolate Syrup and they're really not bad. Having a hard time getting all my water in, though. 2 quarts is a LOT!!
  3. Some Drs allow it, call and ask! They may allow you one a day or something.
  4. Welcome! Good luck!
  5. The shakes are not bad at all, but here at the end of the day I've got a huge migraine and nausea. Is this normal? Could it be something else? Any thoughts are very much appreciated!
  6. I'm on a liquid protein diet, myself. Although every doctor has their own diet. For some it's two protein shakes and a low fat/low carb meal, for some it's clear liquids. I'd call your surgeons office and ask them for some varification.
  7. I started my liquid diet today. Am feeling a bit stabby.
  8. Yea! I start my liquid diet Wednesday - I'm excited, but still a little nervous! :-)
  9. By the way, this question is for anyone with families, not just mommies. I tried to change the post title and hit the send button on accident :-).
  10. I start my pre-op liquid diet on Wednesday, and my concern is what to feed my family during this time. My hubby's not much of a cook, and is a bit wishy washy on WHAT he wants. So what did you do during this phase? What advice can you give? I don't want to feed them junk, kwim?
  11. I go pick up my Optifast on Tuesday and start the pre-op on Wedesday. I'm a little nervous about weather I'm going to be able to do this or not. I'm already eating everything In sight: it's like I'm afraid to not eat it or I'll never be able to again! Not to mention what my family's going to eat during this time. Any mommies dealing with this too?
  12. Woohoo!! That's what I'm hoping for :-). I have a good friend that can use it when I shrink out of it :-)
  13. I am loving Tully's French Roast decaf. It doesn't taste decaf at all.
  14. Last night I was shopping and I found a FABULOUS dress - in a size 14/16. I am currently a 24/26. According to my surgeon, nut, and others that have had the sleeve, I'm gonna be in this dress before fall (!!!). Has anyone else bought a goal outfit like this? Are you planning on it? I'm hoping it keeps me motivated to stay in track and not cheat on my pre-op!
  15. I've lost a pound! Doing an Atkins-style plan before my liquids start next week. Haven't gotten any activity in though.
  16. Woohoo! That's fantastic!
  17. Hang in there!! Fight for it! You deserve to be healthy. Find out what you need to do to start the appeal process and start that now.
  18. We share a date, and lemme tell ya' the exact same things are going through my mind too. It's just nerves: this is one of the most significant life changes a person can make! Hang in there, it'll be here before you know it!!
  19. Why were you denied?? Appeal that!! With the issues you have, there is no reason you should be denied. Talk with your surgeon too- any surgeon worth his salt will be able to help with the appeal process. I'm so sorry :-(
  20. I'm sorry if it came across that I was being judgemental: again, that was not my intent. I do know what a liquid diet is like: I've done my share. So I do know how hard it is. My point was that eating what you're not instructed to could mess things up for you in the long run. I AM being supportive, sometimes support comes in ways that we don't necessarily want to hear. Success at this is a very big deal. I am glad that you checked with your doc and nut and that they gave you great information. Good luck in your journey.
  21. I didn't intend on that sounding harsh, and I'm sorry if it came across that way. Just wanted to point out the realities of the situation. I am also pre op, but for me, I am willing to do whatever it takes and follow the doctor's orders to the letter to do this right. Is it really worth the chance of having to miss out on surgery and have to do it again anyway? I am not trying to step on toes or make anyone mad, just trying to make a very important point.
  22. My question is this: If you can't make the two week pre-op, are you really ready for the change of life that will come after surgery? Don't forget. That you will be on liquids for a while after surgery. And at that point if you cheat, it could be disasterous. The pre op diets are meant for a physical and a medical reason. Yes, but they also serve a higher purpose in helping us break the food addiction that got us all here in the first place.
  23. Just got my date yesterday for July 11! I'm excited to see so many sleeve twins!
