  1. Here's my recipe for my Breakfast substitute or if I'm super hungry mid afternoon. 1 cup non fat plain yogurt 1/4 cup non fat lactose free milk 2 scoops Ovaltine cocoa 1 tablespoon Splenda 1/3 cup frozen Cherries 1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter and if I feel adventureous I add one banana. Yum!
  2. Congratulations! You look beautiful in your new body. Rebecca
  3. I was banded 2/23 and still on soft food. I have been hungry too. What I do is drink a Protein drink or eat a sugar free pudding or take a bite of cottage cheese. I'm having cream cheese on melba toast at this moment...maybe cheating not sure, but it tastes good. This Thursday I begin solids....Yey! Rebecca
  4. Let us know how the chips turn out. I might add some cayenne and parmesean. Rebecca
  5. The only change I have experienced is that I may skip one day before a BM. Banded 2/23 Rebecca
  6. I was banded 2/23 and had the same pain for about one week. My surgeon told me it was due to stitching on my abdominal wall. I've seen a lot of posts where they refer to this pain caused by the injection of air into the abdomen region. To help with the pain I wore 8 hr. heat pads, this really helped me.
  7. I was banded 2/23 and in the soft food stage. I want oatmeal for breakfast, but oatmeal is on the list of foods to avoid until I reach my weight loss goal. Can this be? I cannot stand Malto Meal or Cream of Wheat. I am so tired of egg, cottage cheese and applesauce. Rebecca Biles
  8. Since my surgery 2/3/07, I have enjoyed drinking the high protein BOOST energy drink choc/van flavors found at my local Tom Thumb grocer. Today I went to www.boost.com and they have some wonderful recipes. Some include icecream, which I would substitute with yogurt.
  9. After surgery I was on a full liquid diet for 6 days, which includes creams, anything that will go through a strainer. The second week I started a soft diet.
  10. I have a 21mo grandson who weighs 38 lbs. The surgeon told me not to lift over 10 lbs for two weeks following surgery...I miss picking him up and placing him in the crib. Right now I am letting him crawl up onto my lap to read his books, but no overnight stays until this weekend when I can pick him up again...carefully

  14. I think 4 weeks of liquids is overkill! Eat!
  15. I understand your hunger..I got very creative, adding shredded cheese to my soup, using a cooked strip of bacon to scoop my soup. what really curbed my hunger was making a yogurt, peanut butter, ovaltine shake. As for hydration, if your urine is not very yellow or has a strong smell, then your ok.
  16. Hold a pillow to your stomach when getting up and down, this definitely helped me.
  17. My surgery was 2/23. My surgeon took my staples out six days later. The tightness will work out soon, every day gets better. As for the wound, I would retape with small strips. Hope this helps.
  18. Wheat pasta spaghetti w/turkey meatballs, tossed salad and garlic bread; dessert Italian icecream over angel food cake. A good bottle of Kiante, hope this helps.
  19. I am doing great! The pain in my shoulder is gone and the gas too. Now I am trying to stay satisfied with my soft diet. Rebecca Biles
  20. I forgot to mention, sugar free fudgesicles and making a yogurt shake, helped satisfy my hunger during the 1st week. The second week, during the day cottage cheese and a protein drink (Boost) and a yogurt shake at night has helped.
  21. I was banded 2/23. I drank and ate as much as I could tolerate. Six days later my appt with surgeon, and I had lost 10 lbs.
