First band-over-bypass today!

Hey folks,

I did my first band-over-bypass today (to my knowledge the first one done in Ohio). It wasn't bad really, took less than an hour. I'll keep you all posted on how she does.

On another note, a lot of people have been asking me about how my wife is doing - she has lost 70% of her excess body weight and is feeling great!

That's correct, it's for patients who have failed RNY that involves putting a Lap Band on their pouch. Here is a picture of it (didn't come out too well unfortunately).

Dr C - congrats to you! That seems like an amazing surgery, a second chance for RNYers who are struggling.

Nicely done!

Congrats to your wife too, amazing progress!

I have a friend who had a G.B. about 4yrs ago.

She lives in CA ( San Diego area ) She has gained most of her weight back and requested the Lap Band. Her surgeon said it was not possible. Since this was your first Lap Band over G.B. do you think this will be done more often.

Thank You in advance for your time,

Joanne
