  5. Ah Yoda - you are the best! I never thought of putting protein powder in my protein shake! I will do that cause I don't think I am getting enough protein still.
  6. Yesterday was my first really hungry day. I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, cream of tomato Soup for lunch and pomegranate juice, when I came home I had 1/2 c. veggie juice and then a full can of cheddar cheese soup (I know the calories in that are high, but I felt I needed some). Then later had another 1/2 c. veggie juice and a sf popsicle. This was the most I have eaten in weeks! My scale went up about a pound this morning, but I am not going to worry about that yet.
  7. There is a Cultures restaurant right near my office that sells LOW FAT frozen yougurt. I think this could be an option as a "treat".
  8. Yipee Mr. Yoda! That is an amazing loss Mr. Those full fluids are a gourmet treat. I don't know if you bought protein shakes or not, but Shoopers has a store brand Life that is especially for diabetics. The chocolate flavour is quite good. How are you feeling?
  9. That was not the question. I notice in your signature that you say you are not the food police for anyone but yourself. Are you sure?
  10. Andrew - you are an inspiration! Are you exercising yet?
  11. Doing well! I love the cream soups - so tasty!!! I am also having protein shakes which are not too bad. I just had a bowl of cream of tomato and it was delicious and I feel stuffed! This is amazing!! Can't wait to try real food.
  12. What has helped me is to think about it for my HEALTH and not to lose any weight at this stage (of course you do but I think of that as a "side effect". The pre op was to shrink my liver in order to make surgery easier and the post op is to heal. I don't feel much restriction, but I am finding that Protein shakes and cream soups do fill me up. Good luck
  13. No tightness for me. For the bad breath I am using those breath strips. They last for a little while anyways. I will NEVER eat yogurt again!!!! I didn't realize it was on the full fluids list. I thought only soups and juices.
  14. I would have switched but since its My DD birthday, I am planning to take treats to her classroom mid afternoon, so it would not work for me.
  15. Good for you! Sometimes we don't see the results of our hard labours until a week or two later. The lost inches are a fabulous indication of how well you are doing!
  16. I spoke to Maral today and one of the things I asked her was why I got the Swedish band when so many others have the mid band. She explained that the Swedish is a longer band (not larger in capacity than the Mid) and it depends on the size of your stomach. Apparently mine is quite large, but I think that is a given! LOL Actually, she then rushed to tell me that the size of the stomach is NOT reflective of a person's size or weight. It is genetic and a large size person can have a small stomach and vice versa. I feel better knowing. I also love that Dr. Yau makes these calls when he peeks inside and is able to choose the best band for you. Did I mention my crush on Dr. Yau???:embarassed: Even though he looks 15!!! Don't tell my DH. :high5:
  17. Morning! Back to work today. I was getting used to retirement! The worst thing about is putting on makeup and a suit! Since I have coffee first thing in the morning, can't eat yet so I will bring a Protein shake for mid morning and Soup at hand for a later lunch. Hope things are not a disaster at my desk!!!!
  18. Mine was very supportive after we discussed my history and she did some research on the band.
  19. LOl! Seriously Yoda, you look fabulous. I'm...... GREEN with envy!!!
  20. I just got my appointments in the mail. I too am going June 18th (my DD's birthday), but at 9:30, so I won't see you guys:cry
  21. You Yodas are adorable! Has anyone ever mentioned perhaps having your ears pinned? Just a thought.
  22. As Yoda said, Dr. Yau did my surgery at Scarborough Grace. Do you have to have yours done at the hospital as well?
  23. Congratulations! That is a great milestone.
  24. I didn't even know about it, but I definitely want to go. Since I was banded in the hospital, I did not get the after care package. Kathy is away today so I will call her tomorrow to get all the info. Mr. Y - what type of band did you get? Dr. Yau told me he put in the Swedish and everyone else seems to have the mid band. I wonder why? I will ask Kathy that as well tomorrow. So maybe we will meet after all! Will Mrs. Y be there with you? Maybe we can organize a "lunch" - we can all go to a restaurant, and order 1 dish between us! LOL
