  1. Mr. Y- What's a TAT?
  2. Good luck Miranda! Let us know how it went.
  3. Is there is Yawning smilie? Mine comes from my name.
  4. Hi Jim, The post at the top is mine. I did start early and it seems to be fine. I have to admit I have other problems though which are driving me nuts. I became extremely constipated (still am)and ended up in emerg. Had a CT scan and it seems I was allergic to the contrast dye and now I am covered in hives and itching like crazy! LOL I would not give up my band for anything though. I have my first fill June 18th and can't wait!! YOU - are doing great by the way!
  5. Butch - you are a man of truth and not many of us are. Like other addicts we lie cheat and steal to fuel our addictions. Lying is mostly to ourselves! I have to work every day to be totally honest with myself. I have only been banded just over a month, but I realize more and more everyday (especially since I have no fill yet) that my band is a small portion - pun intended - of my ultimate ability to be successful or not. I also love that you call yourself a "fatty" - because I too think that word is true and accurate. My "plump" is not pleasing and my body that is this big is not beautiful. Let's fight the good and HONEST fight!
  6. On the May 4th update, many of us "Confessed" that we started solids early and I said that I was going to do a poll. So here it is - of course you can remain totally anonymous or talk about why you did or didn't start early. I started early because a) I was climbing the walls I really needed to get my digestive system working c) I felt that I was able to handle them
  7. I know, I know, I am offically May 2nd - but close enough. I am laughing at all the "I started solids early" because so did I! I honestly want to send around an anonymous survey on how many people DIDN'T start solids early. I am sure we outnumber them by a good margin! That being said, I am no longer losing weight and can't wait for my fill on June 18th!
  8. June goals - get through this crazy month both at work and home with some shred of sanity. Get my fill!! and start losing weight again. Start exercising at least 2x week to start.
  9. No it certainly has nothing to do with TLBC. As an aside, I am glad that this type of information is made available to the public. Although Dr. Joffe has not been with TLBC for a while, he is still practising medicine. He was doing surgery at Scarborough Grace the day I had mine there. (as Yoda pointed out these are allegations only at this point). As a patient, I would want to be fully informed.
  10. I also like Dr. Kradjen. I was so sure that I Was going to have PS when I get to goal, but after that session, I realized that I am going to have to wait and see how comfortable I am. It is very much genetic and your own personal vision if you need it or not.
  11. La la la la la - welcome to the musical world of the Band! I burp so often I am starting to get used to it! I asked around at the Bash and sure enough...lots of constant burpers.
  12. Wow! That is shocking! I am glad he is no longer with TLBC.
  13. Congratulations Andree! That is wonderful and exciting news. Why is your husband trying to get off Pepsi? Is he being banded as well?
  14. Hi Leslielee! Glad to hear all went well. Take good care of yourself.
  15. Congratulations Marcar - I'm sure you'll do great!
  16. Wow Mandi - that really does make a difference in your sillhouette. Of course it matter smost wha t's inside, but expecially since you are so young and you have worked so hard you deserve the best body you can have.
  17. Oh Leslielee! I am so excited for you! You are propbably going under as I write this. I am thinking of you. You have my numbers so please don't hesitate to call me if you need ANYTHING or call to chat when you are feeling better. See you on the banded side!
  18. Yeah, I was a little mortified, but grateful that it was not the band. Back to suctomer service at TLBC - I called Kathy this morning (cause I had her extenstion handy and not Daryl's) and I wnted to ask about laxatives. About an hour later Daryl called me back, Kathy gave her the message and she also spoke to Jill before she called me. Jill said that if you are having alot of Protein and not enough Water, this could be the result. I have been adding protein to everything and because I was so busy this weekend, I did not drink as much water as I usually do. That combined with just starting back on solids - probably worked to make this occur. Anyways, another good incident of customer service from TLBC.
  19. Oh yeah. not too shabby. Although a little on the skinny side for my tastes! hehehe.
  20. Yeah...we have ALL said the exact same thing! You will do great my dear.
  21. I agree Miranda, I met with Dr. Yau personally. He was great. Everyone is different so every one reacts to the different personalities in a different way. Feel confident in your decision. They are both really good surgeons.
  22. Miranda - Last week was also the Bandster Bash - both Jill and especially Kathy were heavily involved in organizing that. Yesterday I did not feel well at all. I started having pains on either side of my lower abdomen on Wednesday of last week. By sunday it was really bad, especially when I walked. I had a very impt meeting on Monday so went to work. I called TLBC (Daryl, the head nurse) to ask if this could possibly be related to the band. I left a message and she called me back with 10 minutes! She told me it could be gas etc. I ended up in emerg because by 2:30 I ws doubled over in pain. The Dr. was a bit of an a$$hole when I told him about the band, (why didn't you go there? why come here?) but they did bloods, xray and ct scan. Everything is fine with my band, but I did not realize that I wasy EXTREMELY constipated. Backed up so to speak. I have been taking prune juice but I think it is not enough. I will get some benefibre today. Anyways, the point is I have received great Customer service. Do not be afraid to call reception and ask if someone is in, or if it is a surgery day and that they might be very busy. Do not hesitate to tell them if this is an emergency or whatever you feel that you might need. Good luck Miranda - in my opinion you have chosen a great clinic and it will be great. p.s. I am glad I am not the only patient with this huge crush on Dr. Yau! LOL
  23. I bought a pair of cotton capris - about a size bigger and drawstring to wear afterwards. You don't want anything tight on your abdomen at all.
  24. I am not a picture taker either. Also, I didn't go for the whole weekend - just Saturday. Loriely, I was looking at all the couples there woondering who you were. but I was shy to start asking...
  25. As you have already said - your feelings are very normal Leslielee. I am so excited for you. Tonight I had a few ounces of salmon andsome veggies and even though I have no restirction yet, I was satisified. I even left a couple of veggies on my plate (following bandster eating rules - protein, veg & fruit, starch). I was at the Canadian Bandster Bash on Saturday and there was a fabulous psychiatrist name Barry Simon who spoke and he compared "buying" the band to buying a very rare and expensive Stadavarius violin. He asked us to think about how long it would take to learn to use such an instrument. So the band, it takes time to learn just how to use it effectively. So be patient, be good to yourself and enjoy the journey. (My lessons to be sure).
