  1. Wow I am so glad to hear how well you are doing. I am having surgery in July in MX and like boots 321 I am single and hope I can handle the aftercare by myself. I'm amazed your feeling so well in such a short time. Keep us updated. I hope my surgery goes as well as yours.
  2. I'm going to have the sleeve done in July in Tijuana, MX. Any 50+ being sleeved in July in MX?
  3. Im in San Diego and I'm going to be sleeve July 23 by Dr. Ponce in MX
  4. For Dr. Ponce go to the WLS site and talk to Trish. She is fantastic. I have her phone number if you would rather call. She lives in MX and deals directly with Dr. Ponce. I am having the sleeve done in July with Dr. Ponce and like the person said earlier Dr Ponce taught a lot of the doctors. I met him and he does not speak much english but his team does and Trish is with you every step of the way and will interpret. I am having surgery at INT and Trish took me to meet the doctor and see the hospital. It is small but very clean and the nurses were very nice.I'm lucky that I live in SD so I could check things out personally first. Any questions just ask
  5. I too am going to Dr. Ponce in July. I live in San Diego and I have done my research and have been to the INT hospital, met Dr. Ponce, his team and Trish and feel very comfortable. Trish is great. She is a coordinator for Dr. Ponce and lives in MX. She knows the doctors, she knows the hospitals first hand. She is not just a coordinator answering phones, she knows the hospital staff, the doctors, restaurants, she speaks english and spanish. Dr. Ponce is well known and respected by his colleagues. He is the one the doctors go to for gastric surgery. He is also the doctor you want operating on you if you do have complications. I will keep you updated. If I can answer any questions for you, I'll do my best.
  6. Glad to hear your pulse is up. Keep the fluids going. The protein will help you feel better. Just curious what hospital did you have your surgery at and did you like Dr. Garcia and his staff? I have heard of him and have heard good things. Did you have surgery in Tijuana?
  7. My prayers are with you. I know it must be exciting and scary at the same time but you will do great. Keep us posted.
  8. Good Luck can't wait to hear about your surgery
  9. I am so impressed with Dr. Ponce and his team and want others to hear and know about him. I have volunteered to help answer any questions and coordinate travel plans and surgery plans for any patients outside the US. My surgery will be in August at the INT Hospital. Why am I so excited....I live in San Diego and was very concerned about safety and surgery in Mexico so I met with Trish and have visited the hospitals and met the team of doctors several times now. I am lucky to live so close that I could do this. I have to tell you all my fears regarding my safety and surgery are gone. The fact that Trish lives in MX and personally knows the doctors is wonderful. No one asked me to do this...I am just excited about my upcoming surgery and during a visit a international patient mentioned they would of liked to have someone like me to talk to. So here I am if you need me. I will keep you updated on my surgery. I am going to MX for surgery because my insurance does not cover gastric sleeve surgery. Good Luck Thin Soon!!
  10. Hi, I am a newbie...I was wondering how did it go Oahu? I too had heard things about Dr. Almanza and the his clinic that were not impressive. I would really appreciate hearing your story and how you felt about his clinic and the recovery house. I am looking to have bypass sleeve surgery in aug. It seems like most people don't write about the negative experiences so it is hard to know the truth.
