  1. My pre-op diet is Bariatric Advantage protein powder shakes for 2 weeks. I can mix the powder with water, milk, or soy milk, and add fruit or greek yogurt if I wish. I can have 4-5 shakes per day, which works out to be about 1000-1200 calories per day. I can also have sugar-free clear liquids as I wish. From what I have read on the forums, the diet varies surgeon to surgeon. Some people do the shakes for 1 week, others, get to eat food but have to follow an Atkins diet.


  2. I'm on the 18th too! And yes, the pre-op diet sucks, but just imagine what it is leading to....Since getting my surgery date and then strting the shakes, I've dropped 13 pounds, and I can feel the difference in energy and the way I walk just from that! Imagine how fun life will be once we drop some serious weight! You can do this!


  3. Awesome, I am using the Bariatric Advantage protein powder that I got from my surgeon. I blend it with soy milk and some fruit. They are not bad! For times when I'm in a hurry and can't use a blender, I use the Premier Protein shakes too. Thanks, I'm excited too!

    Carol, thanks for the support...I would love it if even a few of my cravings reduced or went away after surgery! I have been trying to remind myself, when I crave something, that I WILL be able to have it one day. Maybe not 2 pounds of it at one sitting (LOL) but I have been careful not to think "I'll never have ____ again" because I think that it would be just too hard to stick to this.


  4. I think that you are doing great! 34 pounds?!!! Just focus on all the times you tried to lose before...how long would it have taken you to get to 34 pounds before the surgery? I know that it would take me so long to get that far. You have increased your physical activity 50 times! How many people can say that? Every time your hubby brings crap food in the house, empty it into the trash. He will get tired of wasting money soon enough!
