Horrible Feeling Of Food Going Down...
Go slow and make sure you chew. Even mushies can use a little chewing depending on what you are eating. It'll get easier.

Fresh Tossed Garden Salad
My NUT says I can have as much salad as I want ... in fact, I'm about a week overdue to give it a shot. However ................ I am scared of salad!!! I know, I know, WTF! When on earth was a person ever scared of salad?! I'm just so used to babying my new sleeve (6 weeks post op today) that I'm afraid to try real solid foods. I will probably give it a shot this weekend though -- my body is screaming for salad.

Ok, I'm Freaking Out!

Frustrated With The Foods I Can Eat....
You could do refried Beans (add a little avocado or salsa or plain greek yogurt). You could also do scrambled eggs. I made a dish that was chicken breast (you'll have to shred the chicken about halfway through cooking), black beans, 1/2 cup or so of chicken broth, Rotel tomatoes and some cumin, let it simmer for about an hour and it's really pretty yummy and full of Protein - perfect for the stages you're in.

5 Days Post Op- Only 8Oz Liq/day And Under 200 Calories
I would say 8 oz. is definitely not enough, you're going to run the risk of becoming dehydrated. You won't be able to get 64 oz. in yet but you should be able to do around 40 oz for the first few days and then work up to 64 oz. based on your NUT's recommendations. Keep in mind, if you are on full liquids whatever you are consuming does count towards that total, even if it's not water. Your protein shakes, your soups, etc do count.

A Reminder To Me
- One Month Out Tomorrow And My Incisions Still Kinda Hurt... :(
Did you have steri-strips? Those caused an allergic reaction for me and I had itchy red bumps that made me nuts!! Doc had me put Neosporin on the incisions though and that seems to have helped.- Surgery Tomorrow
Good luck and if you have Facebook, come join our super secret June sleevers FB page!- Need Help With Pre And Postop Protein Ideas
Another vote for Premier at Costco. I have the vanilla and they aren't bad as far as protein shakes go.- How Soon?
Oh how I wish I could go jump in the pool - it's been in the 90's here in Georgia. Alas, my doctor told me at least 6 weeks. Darn it.- Soup Question!
I haven't found any FF soups but I did find 98% FF which is what my NUT recommended (have to strain those of course). I was told to avoid the tomato (acidic) and anything with broccoli in it (we don't need any more gas!)- June Sleever's Compilation - Good Luck & Well Wishes
Big day tomorrow - we'll have to make plenty of room on the loser's bench. Good luck!!!- Recovery Question
I was told I couldn't fly after surgery for 30 days, so that may pose a problem for you if that's the case with your doctor too.- Nsv! I Am Posting This Note From Six Flags!
Woohoo, congrats !!- I Will Get Through This?!
Have you tried taking and tracking your measurements? I wouldn't be surprised if you're still losing inches.- Craving Salty On Preop Liquid
I did frozen green beans with some sea salt or some broth.- An Hour Between Fluid And Meals?
I was told not to drink 15 minutes before and can't drink until 30 minutes after.- Countdown
Good luck !!- Preparing At Home
Your tastes can change after surgery, so that's one thing you have to be careful of. I did get a fair bit of broth and Crystal Light though - that seemed to stay the same for me.- Hello And I'm New To This! Looking For Success!
You found a great place to be Olivia - this forum is a crazy wealth of information and there are some amazing, supportive people here. I learned so much here and it helped me prepare for my sleeve date.- No Overnight Stay?
I'm not familiar with your doctor, but that seems a bit odd. Personally, I'd feel a lot better with an overnight stay in a hospital.- Sea Salt Scrub
Oh yeah, good call I didn't think about that ... rubbing salt in the wound = BAD idea.- Sea Salt Scrub
Has anyone heard of this being a great scrub to use after being sleeved? My mom was telling me she saw something about it being very helpful for the skin and helping it stay moisturized and helping weight loss patients retain elasticity in their skin so it wasn't as loose when you loose the weight. - One Month Out Tomorrow And My Incisions Still Kinda Hurt... :(
