  1. IPod, IPad or something to do if u r not sleeping or walking.
  2. Same here. I feel like there is some sort of constriction in my esophagus up higher where you wouldn't think it would hurt. I have just kept myself moving. Walking walking and more walking. Helps to get my mind off of it and the tummy gurgling. Lol.
  3. Oh good news then! I know we are all different in our post op journey. Will be glad when the pain of sipping goes away for sure.
  4. I just arrived home from being sleeved in TJ by Dr. Garcia. The one thing I would have liked to have had on my very long trip home was some broth and there was none to be found at the airports and of course nothing on the plane. I sat first class on the wacomforter comfort and the attendant looked at me very strange when I refused all of the delicious food you get in first class. lol. Believe you me, that was a true test also. I would get the unjury chicken broth packets and take 1 or 2 for the trip home. You can get plenty of hot Water in an airport but no broth. I checked several restaurants and those that served soup were Soups that were something like gumbo and I thought that would be too spicey or the soups were not really a soupy texture. I don't know if u can get through checked baggage with some small ready to eat Jello cups (sugar free of course), but u might consider a couple of those as well.
  5. I am home from TJ and was sleeved by Dr. Garcia on July 2. I am getting my liquids but this rumbling in my tummy after every sip of everything is annoying. Some pain and discomfort as well after a sip. Please tell me this is somewhat typical??????
  6. I am here now. very pleasant experience so far. surgery is tomorrow and I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the facility I will be at. staying at the Marriott which is very nice. feel good about this decision. feel very safe as well.
  7. Thank u slenderella! I love your "name". Faganberry got another flight so she will make it today after all. Thanks for the prayers! God Bless.
  8. No turning back! Will be Mexico bound very soon. Please say a prayer for my sleeve sister Faganberry as there has been a problem with her flight. Pray she can catch another one today!
  9. I do suffer from depression as well, I take Prozac and Wellbutrin. So, I do know what clinical depression and anxiety are like. I don't want to minimize that depression is a very real and debilitating illness.
  10. Thanks guys. Had another spell a little while ago so I am going to just sip a sprite. It seems to help more with nausea. I think the heat here in the deep South is contributing to it some as well. It's over 100 degrees.
  11. I am on my second day of clears. so lightheaded and dizziness. blood sugar even bottomed out yesterday. nauseated and feel awful. My body needs some carbs. would it be okay if I didn't dilute my fruit juice or would a sprite hurt me at this point?
  12. We all are to be commended on taking this step to improve our health. Some may not be morbidly obese, but who is to say we wouldn't end up that way? That was where I was headed. I know with my few health problems, I had to do this because diets do not work. I have sleep apnea, depression, GERD and high cholesterol. No energy and lots of joint pain. Only 40 years old and I feel like I am 80. Let's all give ourselves a pat on the back and a toast to our health and wellbeing. No one should judge us....PERIOD.
  13. If you didn't meet the requirements then the doctor would not have approved you. The nurses should not say anything to anyone about whether they think a person is skinny and doesn't need surgery. I only need to lose about 60 lbs so they would probably say the same about me. it was your choice and if you were not happy with your weight before then who is to say a word about your decision? Don't doubt your decision. You have to take care of you. Good luck with surgery and relax and think about the new size you will be!!!!!
  14. Were you sleeved in the U.S. or Mexico?
  15. Thanks. Guess I will make the switch right now. I am 9 days pre op. I haven't had a soft drink in 8 days so I will get through it if I can get through that. :0)
  16. I am allowed tea and coffe (unsweetened) but I am not sure about it having to be decaf? does anyone know for sure? a friend told me it causes hunger, but as I recall (I am a pharmacist) it is an appetite suppressant as well as diuretic. I have googled but don't find anything saying it causes hunger.
  17. I received a final confirmation once I completed my paperwork and faxed it in. Consent form, etc.
  18. www.unjury.com Your diet depends on your doctor. Strawberries are considered a low carb food and are allowed.
