  1. I don't know why people have recently been saying the broth at the Marriott is awful. When I was there in early July, the broth was wonderful and way better than any broth from a can.
  2. almost 7 weeks post op and my stomach is doing the same thing. tired of it.
  3. Love Unjury Vanilla powder in Silk Chocolate soy milk light. yum yum.
  4. Biotin was recommended to me by my hair stylist to promote growth. I am almost 7 weeks post op and haven't noticed any loss of hair....yet. I started on biotin this week though.
  5. oops.....sorry I did not read down far enough. Glad you got something to help. I am 6 weeks post op and have nausea everyday. I take Nexium twice a day and chew tums if I need to. Hopefully the nausea will eventually subside but it got me really depressed. I just decided that I am going to have good days and not so good days. I still don't get all my protein in and just this week have been doing better with water as long as it is very cold. I use the Unjury and I really like it and it doesn't make me gag. Hopefully those will work out for you as well. Hang in there and good luck.
  6. US pharmacies cannot fill prescriptions from out of the country.
  7. I bought some toddler bowls and spoons. I measure out everything. 1/3 cup is about my limit right now bur putting it in that small bowl helps. Eating is really a chore for me right now.
  8. I am a pharmacist, so I have tried everything mentioned. Miralax has just never ever worked for me, even pre op. Dulcolax does the trick, but it is not a good idea to take a laxative like that all the time. I haven't tried any fiber supplements post op, but I Did during my first pregnancy and it was not pleasant.....tons of bloating. I think I will try fiber again. It's sort of funny I have this issue because I have spent many years on advising people on how to relieve constipation. I took a probiotic for 30'days straight several months back, I didn't notice any improvements in my digestive health either..lol.
  9. Is anyone out there (I am 6 weeks post op tomorrow) suffering from extreme constipation? I know this is TMI, but I feel like I am so backed up that anything I eat is now just sitting at the top of my sleeve and if I wanted to throw up I could. I can't take this. I am miserable. I am taking stool softeners (2 twice a day). I have held my iron for about 5 days now as well to see if that made things improve.
  10. I got financing through E-Medical Loans. No interest for 12 months. it was very easy to get approved. Just for the record.......whichever doctor you choose, and there are several good ones, the Marriott was VERY nice. Sleeved July 2 by Dr. Garcia and stayed at the Marriott post op and was very comfortable. The staff at the Marriott are familiar with why we are there and make every effort to be helpful and accommodating.
  11. Definitely agree! anything you hear about Tijuana being dangerous is absurd. Just like any city u were going to visit u wouldn't wander off into the unknown and Tijuana is no different. I felt safe and secure. The Marriott was a dream. Sleeved by Dr. Garcia at Mi Doctor and the care was exceptional! If u are having any doubts about traveling to Mexico......Relax. It is a huge and personal decision but I have not regretted my decision yet. I will be 6 weeks post op tomorrow.....down 31 lbs!
  12. I Have always been a big water drinker. I could gulp a 16 oz in a couple of minutes. Now, at 5 weeks post op, I can't stand it. I have tried filtered, bottled, tap and it all tastes horrible. It has gradually gotten worse. It's better if I add lemon or a crystal light flavor but I find some of those leave me even more thirsty. Has anyone else experienced this?
