  1. full liquid stage 2...i came home on cream of wheat. clear liquid then full liquid just make sure it runny and you'll be just fine! i heart cream of wheat! that's what the hospital served me for Breakfast my last day there. yum yum good!
  2. i hope everyone is doing well. i'm doing good! came home friday afternoon on a stage 2 diet. had burped, passed gas & a couple BM while in the hospital. felt sick with the catheter in but once it was removed i was fine. i literally felt like i had been hit by an 18 wheeler! i was soooo drained! but as of (saturday) this morning i feel my energy level going up! i've got some Protein in today but will concentrate more on that tomorrow going forward. my concentration has been on hydration...so far so good! i'm not sure if it is ok to start taking vitamins/calciums chews/etc yet. i'm on no pain meds or gas strips...just God! i have a little discomfort where my drain comes out but with a little adjustment it subsides. oh yeah took my 1st shower this morning....BY MY SELF! i've been doing minimal walking, this will also be my focus starting tomorrow. again i hope and pray that every is having a speedy recovery. keep in mind...LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! sending warms wishes to all!
  3. Sitting in admission waiting to go up...still not nervous Hope everyone is recovering well!
  4. sending hugs, positive thoughts & warm wishes to all the July 18th sleevers!!!!
  5. my doc dont require liquid diet or anything...just nothing to eat/drink after midnight tonight. i'm going to drink 2 glasses of Water at 11:30pm tonight (suggested by the pre-test nurse) because my veins like to hide from needles. The funny thing...i don't mind being stuck...lol sometimes i encourage the nurse to try again. the last surgery i had the anesthesiologist had to place my IV in my neck...yep, turned the bed upside down and in the neck it went...thank God it was outpatient...honestly this is the only thing i'm concerned about. weird. lol for all worried about liver not shranking, DON'T!!! if you've put in SOME effort during the pre-op stage your doc will notice. a slip up here and there is not the end of the world...keep pushing and don't let it discourage you. heck if we had control like that we would be SO EXCITED ABOUT SURGERY TOMORROW!!!! we are going to do great and look fab!!!! I'm going to be thinking about everyone and saying a special prayer for all my sleeve buddies!!! Best wishes!!!
  6. @juicy ~ everything happens for a reason...count it as a blessing and keep it moving. its funny on my way home from work today i said a prayer for God to look over me and my surgeon....baaahahahaha is that crazy or what? but anything could happen and that's the thought that went through my mind...something could happen to him...lol crazy but true. @hm734 ~ don't be nervous...we're all praying for one another...this is a great support group!
  7. i started gathering things last night and will pack tonight but i'm still not feeling what i was expecting to feel. i hope i'm so busy with house chore and last minute errands that i dont have time to think about food. if i get hungry i plan to go for a long walk...that takes always crave my appetite...lol thank you and good luck to you as well. I will be thinking about all my July 18th sleevers!!! sending prayers and positive thoughts. let's keep in touch.
  8. ANOTHER JULY 18TH-ER HERE!!!! my nerves have not kicked in yet...not sure why...maybe it's all surreal. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm going to pack my bag tonight...i will pack very light. I glad it is finally here...seem like it took forever! I'm glad they day is finally here! I made homemade chicken broth and pureed chicken breast this past weekend. i have to run to wally world after work today for a couple more items and I'M READY!!!!! I am somewhat concerned because my surgery isn't until 2:30pm, check in time is 12:30pm...i can't eat after midnight....YIKES!!!!! that's a long time! hopefully the excitement/nervous/somehting will take away my appetite. lol
  9. I've got 10 days too...super excited! not nervous yet...i'm sure it's coming. talk about getting ready i have to touch up my newly painted bedroom, put my new bed together, get my tv mounted, rearrange other furniture, etc. but i'm going to be READY!!!! Good luck everyone!!!
  10. ok, now i'm stressing. i take celebrex daily and my surgery is coming up on 7/18/12...my doc/nurse have not said anything about it. ?? i'm going to have to ask. i was told which meds to stop before surgery but celebrex was never mentioned. i don't know what i'm going to do, keeps my neck/shoulder in check and keep my migraine as bay. here is one tip...stay away from grain...grain bring pain, also i've read briggs vinegar cider was good for joint points but did nothing for me. good luck all! please keep us posted.
  11. checking in to CHIKE ont he board!!!! THE BEST! taste like a real shake! just came out with a iced coffee it is delish as well. my favs = bananas, orange-cream & iced coffee however strawberry, chocolate & vanilla are great too! i've tried many and none can touch Chike! it has to be ordered though. i have read a lot of good reviews of premier so i have some to try after surgery. If you're a coffee lover, CLICK makes a mocha and vanilla latte but taste too much like coffee for me. I'm not a huge coffee drinker. best of luck!
  12. Hi can you elaborate more on how these things help? i understand about the heating pads and the massage...i'm lucky i just purchased a sub zero chair with a massager. I'm totally confused with the cocoa butter and eucalyptus spray. help? lol
  13. i think it depends on your surgeon. my date is July 18 and i will have my drain in for a week. also my surgeon places the drain in the far left incision which is the incision which hurts the worst and takes longer to heal because the bigger camera goes in that incision. she gave me a lot of informative information during my pre-op/pretesting visit.
  14. @ b4youreyes - also keep in mind that the body can only absorb approx. 27 grams of Protein at a time. so you could probably drink it in two parts. also i found having a Protein shake during pre-op (meal replacement) is best to have more nutrient values, i.e. Vitamin a, Vitamin D. it keeps you full longer and you're getting the nutrients of the missed meal. the protein shake with extremely high protein are geared me for extreme workouts...muscle repairing.
  15. so happy you're feeling better. sending prayers
  16. ^^^thanks i think i was looking at the bars. sorry.
  17. after i read this post i went to the website and it read 330 calories unless there's a light one. i'll double check. thanks!
  18. ^^^BINGO!!!! ok thanks iwannabeslim! i didn't know what it was...lol thanks everyone, I will trying blending as well as room temp.
  19. ^^^are you "pulsing" or straight blending? i don't know what i'm doing wrong. I haven't tried it with milk because the flavors i've tried were fruit flavor and i didn't think milk would mix well with a fruit juice. does that make sense?
  20. i have tried 3 different syntrax nectar and neither mixed very well, not even in my personal blender. i had lemonade for lunch today and could not finish it because of the lumps....DISGUSTING!!! i even put my cup back on the blender and blended some more...still had lumps. i used cold bottled water. any tips? has anyone else had this problem?
  21. most approvals are based on the STRUGGLE of losing and keeping the weight off...so if you've gained weight BEFORE you've started the approval process is should not be a problem. again i would be more concerned with not gaining during the approval process because i have heard of surgeries being postponed due to weight gain = liver not shrinking. yes WW should have your weigh ins and payment history. if i read correctly you have not been enrolled in a couple of months....RE-ENROLL IMMEDIATELY! i had stopped my WW membership in December 2011 and decided to have wls in March 2012...as soon as my coordinator found out she told me to re-enroll before my first visit with their office. I re-enrolled the that very day...i'm due to have my surgery this month!
  22. @kimbernada>>>big THANKS!!!!! Your post was EXCELLENT!!!!! very informative! good thread OP i would love to see more HELPFUL threads like this! *pushing this back to the top* BUMPING!!!!
  23. Has anyone else come across this requirement? How do I prove this? What if I didn't loose while on it or loose too much to make me below 35 BMI? don't sweat it. i was freaking out looking for this answer. i gave my wls coordinator my bank statement as proof. you can also give them your weighs in, weekly/monthly receipts, etc. it's that easy. as far as losing...it doesn't matter if you lose or not...if it worked you wouldn't need the surgery so that shouldn't negatively affect you. it is important to not to gain a lot of weight during the approval process. good luck to you!
  24. ALL RIGHT JULY SLEEVERS, THIS IS OUR MONTH!!!! THIS IS WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING SO IMPATIENTLY FOR! THE TIME IS HERE AND WE'RE GOING TO DO GREAT! sending prayers, warm wishes, positive vibes & hugs to ALL the july sleevers! THIS IS OUR TIME TO SHINE!!!! LET'S GO!
