  1. Just had this crazy thought while on the Elliptical...if you could chose where that 1pound of fat would come off this week, where would it be??? I know it's silly but when I saw this picture of 1lb of fat, it's what came to mind. Lol. And PS mine would be off my belly !!
  2. This topic came up in many if not all my Pre Op meetings. And the overall consensus was that everyone is different an will tolerate everything they eat and drink different. And so be it true as I've read on these very boards. Some can't tolerate sweets anymore and some cant do bread. While I have seen people on Fitness Pal eating BIG MAC's????!?!??! ( can not fathom this but whatever!) regardless, do what you feel is ok for you! And glad your husband is home safe!! God Bless our servicemen/woman!!
  3. First off! Great JOB!!! Im only a pre-op patient thus far, but it's been a steady 2 months of healthy eating , exercise and an emotional roller coaster. I've only lost 8.7 lbs, but feel amazing!!! I don't say 'diet' anymore. I tell everyone 'I'm getting healthy and ready for my fabulous 40's!!!' some days I wish I hadn't told people in doing the surgery. There are so many questions, I'm tired of repeating myself. And tired of explaining myself. I'm a grown woman and made a decision to change my life and my appearance just happens to go hand in hand with that! I have a few that are fully supporting me and a few that are totally against the WLS. Oh well for them. And shame on them for judging! The only one who will judge is the One who stands at the pearly gates above:) this aunt of yours defiantly has some self confidence issues. Jealousy truly is an evil monster. I feel certain people that are against the surgery is that they're scared someone will look better, thinner or prettier than than. It's a shame and very weak on their part. Keep up the good work!!! Worry about YOU and it will all fall into place. Keep the Faith!!! (sorry for rambling lol)
  4. Donna, I buy the Designer Whey berry powder in ShopRite they have Lemon too. Gonna try next time I think just because summers coming and I like lemonade.
  5. Good luck to you. I can't wait, aug 15th seems like years away for me. Especially since I'm going through a very stressful time in life right. I could eat a horse but God is giving me strength. Without faith, I'd be lost.
  6. Hi pinks:) I to have BcBS but in PA. I also have a 3 year old but I'm 38 with 2 teenagers as well. Was told surgery is covered too, waiting on approval. No 3/6 month needed per insurance but The hospital and surgeon im using require a 3 month 'diet' program- ive learned an amazing amount of info and a lot about me! Had a few 2 hour mertings sith Dieticians and Behavioral Specualist - theyve been awesome and have taught me how to change my bad habits and learn the 'new life' ahead of me!! Met with surg last Friday. We basically went over the program and procedure. He was awesome. I can't wait. My surg date is aug 15th fingerscroxxed ) good luck to you. Add me as a friend if you like!
  7. Wow. My surgeon doesnt require an all liquid pre-op. We have 3 choices and I'm doing basically a 'phase 3 Atikins' . But I really like the Designer Whey protein powder in Berry. I have to use just half a packet in a bottle of water though. It's a little strong in favor. And I like the AdvantEdge protein drinks in Vanilla. Jmo. Good luck.
  8. Can't figure out how to add anyone:( please add me if you can. My name is Clarks4willie same as here:) Ty
  9. Feel free to add me! Clarks4willie . I've lost 6.5 lbs since march. Changed All my eating habits and surgery is set for Aug 15th:)))
  10. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Eyewonder. And everyone for the words of encouragement. Thought it wasn't my post, I'm having doubts now that my surgery date (aug 15th) is set. Can I do this??? I've struggled diet after diet.. I went to a lapband information night a year ago, but it wasn't the right time- NOW is the time for me& just this morning, I called on God to help me though yet another turning point in my life. I pray he walks this path with me. Yesterday was a good day- I was in 100% for the surgery. Then then next day doubt. Seeing others go through the same thoughts and emotions really help. Thank u all.
  11. At a recent pre-op meeting. The 80/20 rule was bought up. Eat right and correctly 80% of the time. And leave a 20% margin for era. We are not all perfect. Or we'd all already be healthy and fit. We are human and make mistakes. The band is different for every single person. What works for one may not work for another. It will be a leading expirence as I go. My surg is aug 15. Can't hardly wait. I was told to try a timer set for meals so eat slower and chew. I'm having an issue as well with that. As a hairdresser, I have to eat quick ause I have clients waitin!! But I'm trying to make myself healthy now and taking the time I need. We can only try. Good luck to you!!!
  12. Jealousy is an EVIL. People in general have been very opinionated when I talk about getting healthy and banding. I thin they're jealous a bit that now I'll look better than them or something. It's a shame, I love me and only want to be healthy - at 38. I want to live long enough to see my 3 year old babies be born and lots more!! Good luck. My surgery is aug 15. So excited but a very emotional time as well.
  13. Hi. Good luck to you:) my surgery is set for Aug 15th, though it's over 2 months away, I'm gearing up!! Excited to hear about your journey.
  14. Hi all. My journey began on march 26th 2012. At 222.5lbs. 5ft tall. And 38 years young. My surgery date is set for August 15 2012. Of course that pending review board ect. But I'm on my way. I've lost 6.5 lbs so far by changing my diet and exercise. I'm trying so hard to make all the right changes especially mentally. Feeling really great about myself. Im excited to make some new friends so we can support each other. happy Monday!!!!
