June Roll Call
Hi June Sleevers! Sleeved on 6/15 and down 70lbs. Hoping to lose another 20lbs. I'm in my 50's so I'm not concerned with being ultra slim. My goal was to be healthier and more active, and I feel that now.

Chewing
Oooh, such a hard habit to break, or at least for me. I've done it all my life. I knew that I needed to eat slow with this surgery, but it took numerous slimes to sink in. My suggestion is to count your chews and do not swallow until you reach a certain number. It will make you aware and help with slowing you down. Good luck!

Will i want 2 hotel nigts?
I felt well enough to fly on home, on the 3rd day after surgery. We connected in Atlanta, landed in one concourse and departed from another. it felt like I walked the whole airport. I was tired when I got home, but did not have any trouble or problems. I knew that my own bed was what I needed, and I was very happy to be home!

Grazing
I work a graveyard shift. I've tried many, many things for sleep. Ambien is the best, but you have to have a prescription, and can be addictive. Also, some people have problems like "sleep eat, sleep drive and sleep sex," don't even know their doing it! Needless to say, I quit that stuff like a bad habit. I have used melatonin, and it works to help me fall asleep, but not to stay asleep. Also noticed that I tend to have crazy nightmares while using it.

Dr. Perez In Cancun
It's perfectly normal to be nervous. I was a little concerned about going to Mexico. " No spanish skills what- so- ever." I took my family along, and we found Cancun beautiful and safe. The beginning of my journey, I prayed, and felt peace with my decision. I hope that your able to do the same.

Relax, and just hang in there. Everything happens for a reason "in my opinion." Once you get your new date, time will fly by!

Dr. Perez In Cancun
I used Dr. Verboonen in Cancun and Dr Perez was his partner there. Dr. Perez was there to remove my drain, check for leaks and release me. I found them both to be excellent doctors. I did not check any of the boards that you listed. And no, I was never concerned. Since my surgery, a friend has been to Cancun and used the same Doctors with great results. It's a great idea to know all the facts, but you can worry yourself sick too.

Beefwater
I'm sorry you had to learn that lesson...Never, never drink immediately after eating. Your husband will forget it happened before you do!

is sleeve healthy or starvation?
I researched VSG, and made my decision. At that point, I decided NOT to tell anyone but my spouse, children and Mother. I did not want anyone trying to talk me out of it. Your friends may be concerned, but their not helping you!

Mexico

What will they think of next? If that fork could smack my hand when i overeat, or eat too fast, that would be worth buying!
-
Lack of motivation
If you can afford it, hire a trainer for 30 days. It's their job is to motivate you. If not, find a friend to exercise with. Helps keep you accountable. Do anything for 21 days, and it may just become a healthy habit, Good luck!

can't eat
Eventually, you will be able to eat! It's most important to get in all of your fluids. If your tummy likes warm, put your Protein in warm broth. Make your Protein Drink like a hot chocolate, Warm, diluted apple juice? Sip,sip, sip!

How often?
I didn't want to spend a lot of money on new clothes, while I was losing weight. Wore some things until it looked pretty sad. I then found a lot of things in my closet, that I had forgot was there. I have a friend that gave me things she couldn't fit into. And I've also purchased some jeans that were brand new, with tags from Goodwill. Can't beat $4.99 for a pair of jeans.
