    Low carb diet, low fat, lots of fresh veggies, no sugar and tons of Protein and water!
    Cardio everyday and strength training every other day!
    Plan ur cheat meals so your more in control!

    That's a huge job (mom of 3) and another full job so I'm sure you find yourself running as low on energy as you do time. Finding more time may not be possible but finding more energy is possible.
    You must chose to start your day one hour earlier with exercise. Is an hour too much ? Ok then start with 10 minutes of exercise... Pop a Leslie Sansone walking DVD in and don't even put on shoes. Then add 30 seconds every day - 7 days a week.
    You may ignore this but it works! You will start each day with Victory and the energy you need to make the day better AND the exercise you require.
    I did it to the tune of losing over 250 lbs and my sister has almost lost 200 lbs. IT WORKS

    So, I wasn't going to post anything about my one year anniversary but here I am. Am I glad I did it? YES, YES, YES!
    One year and a day ago I was floundering around my exercise routine and every diet I tried. I've only lost 50 lbs so far but then I only have about 30 to get to my goal(which I may change). Lots of exercise has added some extra muscle so I may increase my goal to 150 so I'm really only 25 lbs away.
    I've found old clothes that I stopped wearing back in the 90's that now fit very comfortably. Fortunately for us guys, fashion doesn't really change all that much. I've bought some new pants, shirts and a nice jacket. All my friends and associates compliment me on how much better I look. Feels so good My confidence is sky high. My business is soaring. Life is so good now and I can do so much more than I could do before.
    I see bandsters posting how they miss chocolate, ribs, fried chicken, steak and ice cream. I don't miss them but then again, I'm not really denying myself these luxuries. I just eat them less often and eat much less when I do. I don't crave any foods now. The only downside I've come across is that many of these comfort foods I once worshipped, don't have the same taste or effect they once had. I eat to live now, not live to eat.
    The other downsides such as stuck episodes, sliming, inability to eat certain foods(dry chicken, ick!) pale in comparison to the joy of being thinner and healthier. I'm so much more intimate with my wife than before. She exclaims that had she known how frisky I was going to be, she would have demanded I be banded long ago
    For those who are reading this and are just starting or re-entering their journey, it is so worth it. Don't despair over the week or month long plateaus. Don't be discouraged if you've only lost 20 lbs in 6 months. I only lost 20 lbs the first 5 months but I kept on moving forward. Sure, there were days I doubted my decision, but those days are behind me now. Good luck to all and tomorrow I enter year 2 of my journey and I will be here to comment and advise.

    mini work outs. use a padometer (10,000 steps=5 miles), stand more, take the stairs, park far away, stretch while making copies, do 5 standing push ups while washing dishes, 10 chair sits.

    I'm sure I'll open a can of worms, but, what the hell, here goes.
    In addition to forgetting where some have started, I get disgusted with some of the attitudes and comments from some people that become judgmental of others with things like spelling, grammer and insprirational posts. First of all, I'm sure many of us go to the the "New Content" button to see new posts. Does it matter at this point which forum you posted under? You have the choice of either reading a post you are interested in or not reading it!! The spelling issue? There was one post particularly concerning spelling that still bugs me and I lost respect for some of the negative participants. Forgive us if we don't spell everything correctly or use grammer to meet your expectations or language. "Walla", I said it! If I need help I'm going to ask the best way I can and if I am ridiculed over my spelling I will probably never ask anything again. I thought we were here to help one another on the lapband journey. I know, I need to get over it, but, where's the compassion of some? To be honest, I've kept away from this site because of the few bad apples.

    Got my band Aug 20 it took 2 fills b4 I felt anything and I think i need a bit more soon. i had 4 cc in a 10 cc band and then had 2cc added I am down 18 lbs in 7 wks i am happy.

    Well here is a quick update. I was banded on june 11th. Starting weight 260. Today 210. I have lost 50 pounds as of today! Yay! I have a 11cc band and have 9cc in. I go back on sept. 19th for another fill. I am getting so close to the green zone. I have had no complications as of today. I hope to keep it that way! Looks like everyone else is doing great also! Keep ip the good work everyone!

    Todays weight 209 :-)
    Very happy with my progress. Currently have 5.5 ccs in my band. This is much easier than.I originally thought and I'm very happy with it.

    i will say mini plastic containers and zip lock bags are a god send. i get my plastic containers from qvc (lock n locks) to use. i plan ahead on sundays for the week so its a go and grab deal....i love this thread also mcu....

    Happened to me too after my 2nd fill but only once. Mines happened with some egg whites. I've been extra careful since.
    Just chew a lot and take small bites of food. Good luck. Hope it gets better

    Tiny bites, chew it until mush, and pause between bites.
    It's likely one of those things that need to be done better.

    Oh how exciting, congratulations!
    I first felt I was in the Green Zone after my 3rd fill, but after about 6 weeks I realized I had slipped out of it again. I then went and got my 4th fill putting me back into the Green Zone.
    I had my fill at the end of May and I am still very much in the Green Zone. I haven't had a fill since then. However, I've lost about 45 pounds since that fill and I can tell my band is starting to loosen again. I suspect in the next month or two I'll need another tiny fill to keep me in the Green Zone.

    I started an intense workout program about 6 weeks ago and went from 8 pushups to 30 now. Many other exercises I could only do a few but now I can do 3-4 reps. Congrats on making that first step!

    Hi~
    I have not been on in awhile but had to come back on my 1 YEAR BAND-ANNIVERSARY!
    As an update I have lost 95 pounds in the year. It has been a HARD journey, this is definitely not easy but it is achievable.
    Much luck to all the newbies and I came on to say YOU CAN DO IT!

    i wont know my weight til wed at m first follow up
    i dont own a scale bc i know how weight can go up and down
    and i have been a slave to the scale before and it drove me mad....
    i weighed myself after every pee and poop and found my life/day
    was based on what the hallowed scale said....no more
    we are going to do just great
