Couch to 5K - Week of 28 October ? 03 November
I live in the Boston area and we have those shakes in Stop and Shop supermarket. I'm not sure, but I think they also have them at Shaws. GNC has them too. PS ...They really ARE awesome. I'll have to try your freezer thing, that sounds really good. Cindy

JulieNYC's Lateral Thigh Lift and Brachioplasty
Julie, Good luck on Sunday. I've just recently started the couch to 5k (on week 2), and I love it. I can't wait to hear how you do! PS, I've been reading about the Body Bugg and I REALLY want one. I'm going to wait a bit and see if I still feel this way in a couple of weeks. (I'm usually quite an impulse buyer). I have been reading the exercise thread about it, and you have one. Do you still love it. Is it really worth it do you think? My birthday is Sunday and I've left a few notes around the house for my husband with hints that I'd really like an IPOD, so I can download the couch to 5k thing. Usually when asked, I say not to get me anything, but this year is different. Thinking about now asking for the body bugg for Christmas, if I can wait that long. Cindy

I make my morning shake with vanilla unjury, vanilla carnation instant breakfast, 5 or 6 frozen strawberries and put in the magic bullet. Yum. Cindy

Sorry, but what is a body bug? Sounds ominous!! JK, is it a calorie counter that you wear on yourself? A pedometer thing? Thanks, new to this exercise. Thanks Cindy

That's a tough one Julie. I totally hear you, but then I have to think that your dad does this for a living, and also would have to have YOUR best interest at heart. Hmmm. Let us know what happens. Cindy

Couch to 5K - Week of 28 October ? 03 November
Ya, I agree. Last night I started week 2, and when I got out there, I forgot the times, so I did two minutes jog, and 90 seconds walk. It still felt good, and I did a little longer than 20 minutes. I will be good tomorrow night and do what I'm supposed to. But maybe a little extra??! Cindy

Who's you make me laugh, that was perfect. Wish me luck for Week 2 workout 1. Here I go. If I start having those thoughts when I'm in the neighborhood and start laughing by myself, I guess it will give my neighbor's something to talk about!! Thanks for the humor Cindy

I'm not a freakin' bank!
If you cannot come right out and politely say no, why not say something such as "gee, I'd like to help you, but at the moment I am cash poor". Just say you have no means to get ahold of cash at the time being, or that you are investing in your retirement (which is probably a good idea for anyone to be doing). Hope my little two cents helps! Good luck, it IS so very hard to say no, especially when someone has the out and out b..ls to ask someone for money! How rude!! Cindy

A hurtful comment from a close friend
Kacee, That was nicely put, I agree 100%. I don't think she meant it to hurt you, more likely she was feeling hurt and left out. Good luck Cindy

Patty, It's Sunday, are you back yet? I can't wait to hear all about your weekend. I went to a support group meeting at my surgeon's office on Tuesday night, and that was one of the books he mentioned. He has several copies on his tables. I was actually considering ordering one. Get any good pictures? Can't wait to hear from you. Cindy

Couch to 5K - Week of 21 ? 27 October
I DID IT. I completed week one. I can see where one can become addicted to running. I was going out last night even if it was raining (the rain actually stopped before I got outside). I still go out in the dark, however. Not brave enough yet to have the neighbors see me jogging through the neighborhood. How silly is that. Oh well, eventually I will get to the point that I won't care, but right now I'm still not that confident. I haven't got an IPOD yet. My birthday is next Sunday (11/4) so I left notes all over the kitchen that I'd like one for my birthday!! Very unusual for me, when asked what I want for my birthday or Christmas, I always say not to get me anything, that I'm all set. Not this year!! Sorry to be so lengthy but I'm just very excited. Starting Week No. 2 today. Good luck everyone. Cindy

Couch to 5K - Week of 21 ? 27 October
JM thanks so much. I think I'll have to go buy an IPOD tomorrow. Any suggestion? My daughters have the IPOD NANO. (They are in college). Would I be better off with an IPOD NANO or a regular IPOD? I'm only hesitating on the nano because one of my daughter's nano keeps freezing up on her. Any advice on which is best to buy? Cindy

Hey Weazer, great to see you too!! I found this thread just last night. Patty, those fires are just horrible, I'm praying for you and everyone else in CA that you will all remain safe. PS Weazer's right, I love the May Banders thread, it is my favorite also. Everyone is there for each other. Come say hello. Amy, I've been thinking of you today, hope you're doing well. Please write and let us know when you're up to it. Cindy

Well I started tonight, thanks for letting me join in. Can't believe I'm saying this, but I really liked it. I could even DO it!!! I know, I know, it's early yet, but still I am pleased!! I feel great at the moment. Thanks again PS what's that thing you guys are talking about downloading (I'm download illiterate) Is it something I might like? Cindy

I, too, am glad I found this thread. It is a great thing. God has definitely given us the choice to us this tool for our health. HE gave us all talents, and one of them was giving doctors the special knowledge to create the lap band. Cindy

Couch to 5K - Week of 21 ? 27 October
Can I start this anytime? It sounds like a challenge I'd like to try. Not very good (horrible) in fact at running. Used to do track in high school, but only sprinting, I never did learn to pace myself for distance. This sounds like a great way to start. Cindy
