1. (Continued) you sould eat when your hungry just make healthy choices.
2. I am hungry every 2 hours but my doc told me to eat 5 meals a day not including drinks so I eat! She also told me 800-1000 calories. I track my calories on myfitnesspal and I am not over. Also in order to lose 2 pounds a week mfp says to eat 1200 so I make sure I NEVER go over that but I aim for around 900. You want to be healthy and not malnutritioned so my in non-expert opinion eat when you
3. I want to be mad and say that is terrible to do to a child- there had to be better options. BUT as a fat kid growing up... being 170+ in the 7th grade..... I wish my mom would have gotten me the sleeve. I would have been so much more confident. I am literally in tears because I am so happy that they made this choice! Kudos to her family and the girl. Amazing!
4. Yea... where's the recipe?
5. SUCK!!!! I am a mint chocolate kinda gal and these were disgusting. Just thought I's warn you.
6. Today was the first time I actually loved my sleeve. I went through stages of hate and questioning my choice but today I loved it. I went to a cookout and I was scared that I would stand out because I wasn't eating, like I have been at other social events. However, when it came time to make my plate I put 2 or 3 fork-fulls of everything I wanted on my plate and a whole small crab. I ate slowly and talked and laughed and I felt satisfied. Yes, I did eat about 1000 calories today which may or may not be great but if I didn't have the sleeve I would have eaten everything I ate today just much more of it. My caloric intake would have been atleast 3000-3500.... and thats not including the drinks I would have drank. I felt normal. I felt happy. I loved my sleeve.
7. About a week and a half. But I kinda just layed there because you don't want to go crazy fresh out of surgery. I wish I had the sex overdrive some people talk about having but I am kinda turned-off all the time.
8. Some say it washes away the food. Some say it sits on top if the food and makes you uncomfortable. I do generally don't drink within 30 minutes of eating.... But I say follow your body. Don't choke waiting for 30minutes
9. Easily rock my 1st goal jeans! Be able to do 20 girl push-ups.... on my way to the real ones!
10. I am feeling kinda sexy. I refuse to weigh myself but I would guess I've lost about 27 pounds since surgery. Waiting on my husband to get home so I can show him the long process and major surgery is worth it!
11. The sleeve is a wonderful tool. However, please do your research of the good and bad. Realize that you will really not be able to eat anything at first. For a food lover this is a very hard time. Also eating so little means that social gatherings that revolve around food (like most do) will be totally different. Also, low energy is an understatement. I am not trying to be negative.... I am just emphasizing the reality that I totally was not prepared for. Read the site and you'll see all the amazing things. It is 8:32pm and I am only at 300 calories and I am trying to figure out how I am going to get to 800 without being in unbearable pain.
12. You may have only lost 17.... but if continue to eat less than 1000 cals a day like most of us do (whether we want to or not) you will lose the weight PERIOD.
13. Just get Unjury. I have tried others with goods and bads....but Unjury is consistantly good.
14. If you have read my posts you'll realize that although my doctor did a wonderful job with my surgery I practically was left in the dark about what happens after surgery, especially what to eat so thank God for this site! NOW, for those who were told not to eat strawberries or other berries... how long did you have to wait? What kind were allowed? I have a bunch of different kinds of berries in my fridge and I want to make a smoothie in the morning without causing damage to my belly.
15. Confession... don't judge but..... I eat whatever I want. I do try to stay away from carbs and sugar but I basically eat real food just very small amounts. The thing is I seriously track everything I eat from the oreos, to the shakes, to the bite cereal and my calories aren't over 800 for the day. My slogan is that I am depriving myself, really truly depriving myself so I eat what I want and try to mantain a balanced diet. A normal day is a shake for breakfast, protein like tuna for lunch, a normal dinner of meat and vegetables, and atkin or luna snacks. But if I go over someones house I always taste the food no matter what it is. Just a bite or 2. I still love food and to cook, but I am losng weight :-)
16. I was sleeved April 25th and u all need to become friends with me on myfitnesspal. Focus on your eating and exercise and not the pounds. I gave my scale away and I only check it maybe once a week when I visit my mom. Also, during my monthly.... there is no point in weighing until atleast 2 days after. My user name is Shadayo.
17. What does nsv stand for?
18. I feel your pain. I am not there yt but I am scared of how my new body will be in a few months. I'm sure your beautiful!!!
19. lol.... the new scale will become your best friend..... because best friends are honest no matter how much it hurts.
20. Thank you for the encouragement. The harsh words and sweet words are good for me. While I have been out on temp disability from surgery they I got a call that they no longer needed me. Since my husband has been out of work and watching our kid I was the only source of income so I am SUPER STRESSED. I have no rights against being fired while out on a doctors note because I am a temp so for the past few days that I have known I have been super scared because I don;t know if I will be able to pay my rent or even how I will feed my family. Stress like this is not cool while I am in this situation.
21. I didn't mention that I only ate the meat out of the sub and hardly any bread with the chicken sandwich.... but this is not excuse I feel rotten. I feel like I am a horrible failure. I was just so happy I could eat!!! And my family just keeps telling me how horrible of a thing it is that I can't eat. They just shake their heads and eat wonderful meals while I suffer. I am not putting the blame on them,..,. it's on me. My doctor did give me a list but to me it is unrealistic and doesn't have enough variation.
22. Yesterday I took some milk of magnesia and voila!!!... I could eat for the first time. I am 4 weeks out and I have been eating hardly anything like everybody else. But yesterday I finally had a little room in my stomach so today I went a little crazy. Here's my day over a span of time: Protein drink for Breakfast 75% of a chicken ring sandwich with cheese from White Castles 6 bites of a turkey sub about 8 chips about 10 cheese doodles 3 chocolate chip Cookies 2 spoon fulls of ramen noodles 5 spoon fulls of peas Water This is terrible. I am afraid to eat vegetables and fruits because there is such a long "do not eat" list with those. Please give me a normal day of eating. Of course this is much less than I could eat before but I didn't eat so unhealthy BEFORE SURGERY. What the heck is going on? Also my second question is how to I put bites and chips into myfitnesspal.com? I don't use it but I plan to.
23. Is 75% too much? Because I think so. What is normal?
24. I am 3 weeks out and I really did not understand just how much I would miss food, how it would change my life, and exactly how little I would eat. But looking at my face in the mirror getting smaller and my belly going down OMG.... it's worth it. But I do hopemy stomach gets a little bigger because I miss cooking.
25. I took my pill right before I went into the operating room and have continued as normal. My doc told me that upon losing weight we increase our chances of pregnancy and we all know being pregnant when you can barely provide enough nutrients for yourself is a no-no.
