  1. Glad to know you made it through surgery okay. You are officially no longer a bandster! THAT has to feel awesome. Keep walking. Hopefully the gas pains will subside soon.
  2. Glad they finally have your info. Mine was submitted on a Thursday, and I was approved either Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully you will have your approval just as quickly. Good luck!
  3. Don't feel like a fool. I felt/feel the same way, and I don't even have a date yet. I think it is perfectly normal to have some trepidation. This is a major change. We will come through this and wonder what we were so worried about. Good luck to you!
  4. I would call your coordinator to find out what is going on. I can understand your frustration. Heck, I have my approval letter, BUT I'm STILL having to wait to schedule... SMH
  5. Once they had all of the information that they wanted, it only took a couple of days. My biggest wait time came because my band doctor's office didn't send all of the information that insurance wanted. After they submitted, insurance requested documentation that I had been following the doctor's eating and exercise plan.
  6. I was told that with a lower BMI, we won't lose as fast. I hate that, but will be glad just to be losing at all. I have gained almost 30 pounds in the last year (ten just since they took out SOME of my fill last month).
  7. I have BCBS of Illinois, and they approved my revision last week. I don't have a slip or eroision. I just wasn't getting good restriction AND started regaining weight over the last year. Aslo, like Wheetsin said, call the insurance company. I started calling the day after my paperwork was submitted. I'm sure they are used to patients calling to question the status all of the time.
  8. I hope that they are able to do it in one surgery with no complications. I know that dealing with two surgeries would be stressful AND very expensive. Hopefully the damage won't be very extensive. As for the recovery after the band removal, I don't know. I have known only a couple of people that had their bands out without getting a revision, but they didn't really talk about anything special as far as the diet. I'm sorry that I couldn't help with that part. Good luck and many prayers for you with your surgery.
  9. Can you ask for a heating pad? That helped me with the gas after lapband surgery. I hope it subsides soon.
  10. Congrats! That is so exciting!!
  11. I'm joining early. I am 39, but will turn 40 before the summer is over. I'm not sleeved yet. I have verbal approval (waiting on my official letter to get the ball rolling) for revision from lapband to VSG. I can't wait to get this part of my life started!
  12. I won't miss having my band mysteriously tightening right before my TOM. I won't miss not being able to eat breakfast before10 or 11 a.m.

  14. Thanks! I am so nervous, and it isn't even scheduled yet!
  15. I've not try it with protein powder, but when I was on the liquid phase after getting my lapband(soon to be revised, yay), I used the protein shots in jello. It was very tasty. You could not taste the protein at all.
  16. My band isn't even completely unfilled, and I feel like I starving all of the time. They took out .5cc about a month ago. I have gained about 5 pounds since then. I am not sure when I will be unfilled, if at all... Just got word of approval for revision, but haven't gotten the official letter so I can't schedule yet...
  17. I received notice via the insurance company private messaging system that I was approved. The doctor's office won't accept a printed copy of that to schedule. It has to be the official approval letter... I'm thrilled but can't wait to begin the next steps before I chicken out.
  18. I am truly in agony over the wait. I am in limbo. I have been approved for surgery, but I can't do anything with that information until either I or my doc's office gets the official letter. They won't schedule me. They won't tell me what the next steps are... Nothing... Sigh... This part is for the birds...
  19. Congrats! I jus went through the same thing! They told me that they needed more information, but the letter implied it was a denial letter. I wonder why they send the request on the same letterhead as the denials?
  20. Better just a week than several weeks! You are going to do great! The 9th will be here and over before you know it!
  21. They won't schedule until they have the actual letter... I can't print the email to take to them (or frame, shoot) because it is simply a link to their website to get to their private message center.
  22. Congrats! I am so glad you finally heard from them!
