  1. Had my iband surgery today. Got @3:00 +/- and I nurse about 1/4 c of water. About 8:30 tonight had half of an orange Popsicle. I have a little headache, really just groggy after pain meds. Feeling empty and want something but not sure if I should. I don't really feel hungry, just empty.
  2. Emotional issues? Like what? I'm feeling pretty weepy over stupid stuff. Like my hubs taking care of me.
  3. Had mine today. So this is my first "post surgery" post. Sore at the port site. Everything is just as I expected. Pain in left shoulder but not too bad. About a 3. Had about a 1/4 of water.and felt overly full. So couple of hours later I had half a SF Popsicle for dinner. Need something with more substance since I do feel a little hunger. Hubs making chicken noodle soup for us tomorrow. Looking forward to that.
  4. I am a REALTOR and so I control my schedule to some extent. I will be dropping off a day contract on the way to the surgical center tomorrow morning. After that taking the rest of the day off. I have to be in the office Sunday afternoon, but Thursday, Friday, and Saturday i will do the min.
  5. Surgery in 12 hours. Excited, anxious, not the slightest bit scared of surgery, but terrified of failing, yet again. In the tub, shaving my legs, thinking about all of you. I can't express how much I appreciate the knowledge and support I have gained from this forum.
  6. I agree. Seeing people that have accomplished so much, make me determined. If you can, I can....
  7. that's great!! I'll try to follow your lead. haha
  8. First of all I love your African Grey! My band surgery is tomorrow, so I haven't had mine yet. The plan for me is the iBand. I happen to be in the DFW area, but have two of the cutest grandson's you've ever seen that live in Shreveport... So, you might say my heart is cajun! lol
  9. Mine is tomorrow. You'll do fine. Have a pre-op diet you're working on? Lets start planning now what we're going to wear to the company Christmas party and "WOW" everyone....
  10. That's great. Congrats. Any of that from pre-op diet?
  11. Relaxation and lubrication, are the key.
  12. For anyone in the DFW area looking for these products, they carry them in stock in Midlothian at the US DRUG MART. They can get anything, but have a good supply on hand and will carry anything that you ask them to. Stephanie there had the sleeve about a yr and a half ago and is very well versed on what things work, at least for her. She will give you samples to try to see if you like the taste. Just super helpful.
  13. I'm having iBand in 48 hrs. I look at it as two tools in one surgery. How bad could that possibly be?
  14. Of course your doctor knows what he/she wants you to have, but I find that a 1/2 tsp of sugar free dry instant pudding mix makes a world of difference on the shakes. Try the cheesecake pudding mix. Or pastachio (sp?) butterscotch is wonderful as well, and if the calorie count will allow, a tsp of peanut butter! I blend the powered mix with ice and flavorings like the pudding mix. WONDERFUL
  15. you're right - I've screwed it up badly enough that I might as well punt!
  16. That WAS my pre-op diet. Now I'm afraid I need to be a little more extreme to make up for my lapse in judgement. I've seen some posts that talked about a 3 day clear liquid diet pre-op. If that will make up for stupid decisions, I'm willing to try it.
  17. I got my approval and paid my estimated portion of $680 for my iband. Honestly was expecting my part to be about double that, but who am I to argue? Anyone else surprised at how low their portion was?
  18. I am scheduled for iBand plication on 4/18 with Dr. Adam Smith @ Fort Worth Lapband. Anyone else in the area, in +/- the same position?
  19. according to my nutritionist it's safe to eat those when you're ready to gain your weight back.... She did say dry, crunchy things like chips were sliders and would go down easily, as a matter of fact too easily and go right on through and you wouldn't feel full, and therefore wouldn't stop when you should - thus gain it back. I've never seen a chip as appealing as a size 8! LOL
  20. Surgery is on the 18th and I've done a terrible job on my pre-op diet. We've had out of town company for a week, and I have screwed up more times than I would like to admit. MIL is leaving in the morning so I've got to hit it hard and make up for my slips in the next few days. Anyone have any ideas? I can do shakes with no problem, can do Clear Liquids if I need to, just haven't done well on the shake/soup combo with company here.
