Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Ok so now that I had time to read and catch up, other than the muscle pain i had when I first woke up, I don't have any regrets, they gave me lots of anti=nausea meds which worked wonders I definately needed it a couple of times but it took the edge right off. I was very dehydrated so got an extra bad of something and within 3 hours I was running to the bathroom. I did not go all day long, was out of surgery at 10:15am. Got up this am and felt great, did some scope thingy where they checked my insides to watch liquid go down to make sure all was working, that was way cool!, had to have 32 ozs, which was Water, broth, Jello and even italian ice, (would have never thought of that) home on the couch with a heating pad hanging with the kids. overall, it was a great experience other than the above post where I was telling about the muscle pain i didn't expect. so happy it is over ! Feel great and back to normal tomorrow HUGS and good luck to the rest of you getting banded, no regrets at all here Can't wait to update my weight loss!!!

HELLO EVERYONE So I am home, so excited and had such a great experience. I love my surgeon! that is all i can say about that. Anyway, I do have to give you all my slight bad experience, not horrible but something I did not expect I too had an emergency c-section and my tubes tied at a later date but nothing prepared me for the feeling I woke up from. It went away with 1 dose of pain meds but the only way to describe it was that I felt like i did 5000 sit ups from where they inserted the port. Other than that I was up and running and good to go. I am super sensitive to pain meds so I was slightly stupid, and still am, but other than that now on just tylnol and dealing with some gas pains in my lower abs, but feel great and going back to school tomorrow, not to my 8am class but going for my noon class. I'm going to get caught up on post now, but just thought I would pass that info on since it was something I was not ready for. YIPPE :clap2:

Off to the hospital in 30 minutes, amazingly I actually got some sleep last night. I did have very strange food dreams and scar dreams but they were so silly that I didn't get freaked out. I mean eat a donut and realize I couldn't and spit it out. I hate donuts! LOL Anyway good luck to the rest of you all today, talk to you when I get back tomorrow!

My DBF has been with me thourgh thick and thin me, and I think he has gotten very comfortable with the me he knows will never leave. I love him but I want more and he knows I don't have the confidence to do anything about it. So, I think that he is scared that I will leave. He has been very supportive of improving my health, just freaking today and that doesn't help. Oh well, i'm downloading music on my mp3 to take with me for my hospital stay and going to take a bath. I am so anxious and can't wait for the new beginning i'm getting myself worked up over things I don't need to be right now.

We just saw that the other day too, yes I thought I could have seen some scars, I looked but I don't know, hard to tell. My friends said she didn't think you could have it done without being at least 100lbs overweight, i told her you could do anything you want with all that money!

A thread for Single Bandsters
Hello everyone I just found this Post and have been reading bits here and there. I am being banded tomorrow and I can't wait. But, I am in a relationship that I have a gut feeling is on its way out after 17 years, it could just be my insecurities, but it is not a good feeling. Anyway, I am tired of being alone, I was always happy with where we were and now I want more and he can't or wont give me more. it seems where are never at the same place at the same time. I am trying to find new places to go and meet people. After 17 years of saying I never want to get married, I can't believe that I have been saying this, but I do want to get married and have that someone special to share thing in my life with. I am so unhappy with myself that I know I won't meet anyone until I can get past that. So tomorrow is step one!

Jane how funny, as we just both posted the same thoughts at the same time. I had my tubes tied 3 years ago and I was the same way the day before and the morning of. Kind of silly but I think having all this time to think about it makes these thougths come to the surface, because honestly, the EMERGENCY c-section I had to have with being put under for that was much more dangerous and risky situation than this. It will all be good!

Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
OK as the day goes by i'm going through different thoughts. I just did a written statement saying that I want my kids to go to my mom if anything happens tomorrow and that sent me into a tizzy. I know everything is going to be great but there are fears, like others say, I worry about what my children would do without me and if they would know how much they mean to me, which is the world and why i want to be healthy, for them. It is snowing, sleeting, and just plain yucky outside so I can't really even get out to keep my mind occupied. I am going to do a little homework but I just can't even seem to focus on that. I had some black bean soup for lunch but starting to feel sick to my stomach with nerves so I don't know if i could eat anymore if I wanted to. and then there is the DBF who is who knows where right now - but not here for me when I really need him HELP! How can i calm down, anyone have any suggestions. I am getting myself all worked up!

OMG first day of liquid diet stinks!!! I'm starting to get hungry
-
Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters
Tammy I only have to do a liquid diet today, 1 day before surgery but clear liquids for 2 weeks post, i have been ok this morning but starting to get hungry. I also have seen many people go home same day but i have an overnight in the hospital. Everyone seems to be a little different. Some are already going back to work and my surgeon will keep you home up to 6 weeks depending on what you want. I personally will be going to class 3 days later and saw someone had surgery wed and going back to work tomorrow, so everyone is different. I will keep everyone posted on how that works out wed. LOL Lunasa I am so sorry my dbf is being a pia today too and I just decided I can't even think about it or deal with it because I need to be in a good place this am. Maybe once i get my confidence back in myself i'll hit the high road there. Hugs and my thought are with you tomorrow

Tracy As a pre approval requirement, it is a requirement that you go to 2 support group meetings which I did at my nutritionist. It was a mix of bypass and banders but mostly bypass people. They were all very negative about the band so I found another group that was once a month for banders only. I loved it, that is how I found this site, they were so loving and encouraging. I have not gone in 2 months because of being out of town but the next one I will be on the other side. Our group is so upbeat and it is good to go meet local people. I have met some great people and one of them will be coming to visit me in the hospital tomorrow. anyway, i'm excited and nervous and anxious. can't wait until tomorrow morning!

Terry LOL I hope I have it all worked out. My neighbor is going to take my son so I don't have to get him to the sitter an hour away and school is 5 mins from my house. The rest of the time I'll be doing lots of homework. I am so excited and can't wait, I needed that vacation to calm down about all this, but then again, if i was not going on vacation they wanted to do mine in March. This is going to be so great, can't wait to be on the other side. and early surgery too, I'm so glad it will be done by 10:30am

Wow 2 days of travel and missing 4 pages of post! Amazing how this group just keeps growing. I am home and only gained 3lbs during my trip, which is amazing because we ate very well for dinner, I thought it was going to be much worse and told my friend Thursday if I only gained 5 I would be happy, so I'm very proud of myself. I did have shakes for breakfast and salads for lunch and boy did we walk! Terri _ yes back to school Wed, but it is only 1 1/2 hr in the am and that is it. They are letting me park in factuly parking and my class is right there, so I know I can do it! I have to. I am so glad you are doing well and you are adjusting, I am kind of afraid of not being able to eat my favorite things, and mexican food just sounds so good, maybe that is what i'll have for dinner, tomorrow is my liquit diet and surgery time is 9:40 Monday morning! I am so glad it is early and not late afternoon. I'm a single parent and need to be home, just to be with them. Hugs to all, now to read the last 2 pages!

Morning everyone and good luck for all you banders today. My allergies are a mess too, taking my nasonex and that is it, no advil for the sinus headaches and no other meds, afraid that something might cause more issues than my nose running. Did you all know that green tea was a blood thinner and you shouldn't drink it 10 days prior to surgery. Something I learned recently. Good luck all!

what great rewards, I am not sure what I am going to do, but, I have already decided that I am going to get a tummy tuck next year. what my insurance doesn't cover and I don't have my mom is going to help me pay for it. It will make all my future vacations be so worth it. My mom is so supportive and loves me so much. I'm so lucky to have her. anyway, good luck to everyone today, in my few travel days there are so many new people out there - but still a fantastic group. hugs to you all

Angie I got mine and brought it on vacation - made a margarita, LOL but seriously, great for shakes, and the mushie stage. A blender would work the same but the nice part of the bullet is that they are cup size and comes with 4 so you don't have to take the entire thing apart each time you use it. I used it this am to make omlets and they were nice and fluffy I hope that helps
